Thread: The Publish 19 Bug [Fixed July 1/2]

I don't mean to offer that as an excuse, I just want to explain what happened.
I'm really sorry this made it to Live. We're working on a fix and we'll get it to you as soon as we can.
How many more people are you guys going to piss off to the point of quiting the game before you realise the CU and all these funky patches suck and are not worth it?

This is amazing to me. Unless it's just ended, I'm playing in my 30 day free trial still. And I gotta ask, is this what I can expect from SWG? One helluva way to set the hook in new customers. Hmmm.. should I pay monthly to work at a game and log in one day to find out my character is useless, or should I look at other games? Tough question. As a DE/CH with my only non-pet based combat coming from Rifles III in the Marksman tree, this is a freaking deathblow in the combat aspect of the ground game. Well at least looking at the bright side, now that I'm selling off either DE or CH or maybe both, at least it's double xp and I can grind a combat profession without a crippling bug...
To be honest, unfortuately the answer is yes!
The history record clearly shows this kind of behaviour...
I'm not going to name them, but anyone who has been around here for about a year (or even more) can confirm.

Even though I have not gotten a Giant PekoPeko yet I would vote for that.

Thanks for sticking out the profession, and I'm really sorry about this.
Yeah... thank YOU for tryin' to get them to stop the patch... not that they'd ever listen to YOU, worthless "Creature Handler" Correspondant that you are...
(Note... this is not a slam on you, but a slam on SOE for how they continue to screw the CH over and over since day 1. I've been a CH on multiple servers, have had two masters, currently have one, so I've been here through it all and I will be here through this... but that doesn't mean that ANY of us should be not BITCHING up a storm about this and all the future "screw the CH" bugs that will happen, you all know they will. It is NOT impossible to stop a patch once it's on deck... Gosh... I don't know... DONT HIT UPLOAD? DONT COPY AND PASTE? ISN'T THAT A NO BRAINER?)
SioBabble wrote:Ko, frankly, fixing this is not enough.
I want compensation for this. My main character is unplayable against mobs at his own level.
Also, someone in management at SOE needs to be unemployed because of this. I am serious. No one who would be negligent or incompetent to this degree should be in a position where they allow a game breaking bug of this magnitude to go forward. This "communication issues" thing is a very poor excuse. Someone needs to be fired.
ROFL yeah too bad it would never happen in a million years...

So why push a patch with a horrible game breaking bug live?
Cause "that's the way it's always been done around here"

Dude... not only do I love you for quoting one of my favorite jokes... but I love for doing it so wonderfully... You rule.

On the other hand, at least we can still play with BE created pets. I hope they fix this soon, and hopefully they will fix the ones we already have tamed.Thank you coorespondance for all your help and being our voice!
Don't even go there... If I dont' get back my LEVEL 65 VARACTYL... Don't even go there...

A last minute bug fix? Now I haven't read this entire thread, so excuse me if this has already been pointed out. But to say that there was a 'last minute' bug fix implies that this was going to go live with the bug anyway. That does not explain 'what happened'. With a bug this severe, there is no 'last minute'. I am a MBE/MCH. The BE half was already screwed up with the clothing bug, and now my CH half is screwed also. What I would really like to know is which idiot decides when things are to be pushed to live. I want to know a way to contact this person. No, I want a way to contact this person's direct supervisor. Anybody got any idea who to start with? It took a very long time for me to buy this game, because I thought it had too many bugs. I finally decided there was just a bug here and there, but now it's gotten to the point that there really is too many bugs. We're hearing all too often that a bug was reported on TC but made it to live anyway. If it's a minor glitch, I could understand going live and coming back to fix it later. But if it makes a profession completely useless, there is absolutely no way it should go live.
In summary, thank you, JFreeman, for at least trying to make peace. However, I feel that the fact that there was a 'last minute' at all with a bug this serious is completely unacceptable.
Good Luck,
Xon Pathos
