In a word, yes. This kind of severe bug that could easily have been avoided with professional QA practices is so routine in this project that it doesn't even stand out as slightly unusual. This is just how they do it.

I want compensation for this. My main character is unplayable against mobs at his own level.

Also, someone in management at SOE needs to be unemployed because of this. I am serious. No one who would be negligent or incompetent to this degree should be in a position where they allow a game breaking bug of this magnitude to go forward. This "communication issues" thing is a very poor excuse. Someone needs to be fired.

Dude - if they fired people at SoE for this kind of stuff their would be no one left. Besides the guy doing the firing would be the guy responsible and he'd certainly not fire himself. He would replace someone who made a sloppy mistakebut had a little experience with their code with a freash noob. You want more fresh noob coders??

Also firing people has a huge cost, they have to have grounds for termination. Want them to raise your monthly fees to support the wrongfully termination lawsuits?

Part of SOE is in Cali., A right to work state. No law suits here.

Great I went to bed early last night so I could give myself a five hour marathon of play tonight. I have finally come to the concluseion that the devs will not let me pvp, or that I will ever see any non pay content again. Now this. I do not blame the devs either this is just the latest sign that the game is actually dead.

New content that is not pay nearly non existent. Professional balance attempts totally abandoned. The devs are even farther from the community. No forth comeing publish posts. Astromechs gone forever. Game concepts abandoned rather then rectified. Basically the game has boiled down into a form of cancer. Feed the jedi all else be neglected. The CU woefully rushed. Patches being poorly checked before entry.

I cannot help but feal for the players that are totally unawares and are now not getting a gameplay experience. The time it takes for the hotfix to make it to the launchpad is a direct notation of how bad the situation is.

At this point I have reached some conclusions when it comes to the games management. The team is obviously bare bones now. Probabally due to the lack luster interest in the game and the actual decrease in players. The sad part of the matter is this point was totally avoidable. The customers told the devs how in fact.

Fix combat first. Balance the skills and professions. It has been said that the CU was too extreme and it was the original system had minor flaws, but since they were not attended with vigor they exploded. This should have been job one lopping anything on an unbalanced platform never works. Fix and increase the options in the GCW, and pve group dynamics. Fixing some dungons and provideing more gcw content is so relatively easy. JTL look at rogue squadron thats fun and entertaining give us that. Instead we got well its not worth mentioning. A great arcade element basically degenerated into the worst aspect of the ground game mindlessly running back and forth to kill stuff.

Just imagine if the combat system had been fixed early on the combat would have been more varied and fun. The economy would be in better shape since players would need all the items. If the player class skill sets had been balanced players would have found rewarding content in each profession. Such an easy way to maintain and increase content. A strong follow up with GCW improvements would have meant that players could actually generate their own content not to mention fun factor. Follow that up with better pve fair fixing seldom used dungeons to make them fun. How hard would it have been to dump a few puzzle elements and a couple rancors into the hutt cave on tat. Toss on a rogue squadron clone one where maybe the ground profession meant something about how you fight. Whether it be a freighter a fighter a bomber. People would have just joined for that because that is what every starwars buff for a generation has lusted after starwars combat with 30 opponents takeing down capital ships, and attacking convoys.

I do not blame the guys doing code. I blame the bad decission makeing from the getgo. After all at this point we should have a solid combat system with no inbalances. Great gcw content. Plenty of fun dungeons to entertain us, and for the final hurrah we might have enough players to justify new content. In the form of story lines dungeons new skills and abilities. Instead we got alot of blah.

I'm really sorry this made it to Live. We're working on a fix and we'll get it to you as soon as we can.

The acknowledgement of the problem is a plus, something that rarely if ever happens.

However the sheer number of bugs that made it live since the CU is mind boggleing. Jfreeman, seriously this sad state of the game over the past few months is absolutely inexcausable. This is worse that a beta version of the game. The many things that made SWG unique among MMORPGs have been eliminated, gimped or severely bugged.

People are paying now to not be able to play the game as intended, keep this horrible trend up and you won't have a customer base to pay.

to KO and all the other corrs, thanks you guys are doing the impossible for the ungreatful (I mean the devs not the players, we love ya) You guys should get some sort of compensation for being constaltly ignored.

I cannot expressed how much of this is an outrage this is for me.

I'm a CH/Ranger. There's no way in heck I can survive on my main until this is fixed. But I am not holding my breath for they still haven't fixed the auto store or even addressed the new calling bug.

I'm in the same boat. I'm not even logging on with my MR/MCH because of this misfit of a patch.

As Master Ranger / Master Creature handler, I'm a glutton for punishment. As two of the devs said when they heard my template at fanfest "Wow, you really like to get pounded on"

As expected, the 1(0) bug for all naturals, and then I decided to pull out a BE'd CL35 Bol that wasn't affected by the 1(0) bug, but when I try to mount it, I get the message "you cannot mount while riding a mount" so my choices are ride my CL1(0) varactyl through kash or walk.

On the bright side, my CL29 Spat that was made uncallable on TC is callable (but still cannot mount). My CL42 cu pa is callable and rideable.

Ground elements are something that is not really seen often in Star Wars that didn't involve a commando style shooter. Some of the better games released by Star Wars didn't involve air combat or Jedi's. Though, I do agree that, after the thrid expansion, there should be no debates on the combat ballancing system. Star Wars Galaxies focuses too much on the ground combat classes, mostly Jedi. SWG has so much potential for a total revamp of the system that it's embarasing to see what just happened with Publish 19.

Undo Publish 19, completly, and focus souly on bug fixes. Hold off on updates when all is fixed untill you are prepared to announce Publish 20, an update that focuses on ALL portions of the game. A total revamp that may yet save this dead game from going the way of Ultima Online. If you've played, do you remember how Artifacts completly changed UO's outlook? To me, what their doing with combat systems only is the same thing that UO did with artifacts. Artifacts ruined combat in UO and these "upgrades" are no different. For every 1 thing you fix, you break several others.

I'm new to this game, still on my trial month, so I guess I'm glad that I learned what a terrible game this turned out to be ahead of time. However, I still believe this game has the potential to dig itself outta the grave and become a game everybody can enjoy.

Here's a bit of advice for the DEVS in the next publish: When you find yourself thinking of how to better aim a gun or swing a sword, STOP!

Wow after all this time a Dev finally posts in the CH forum. This is definately a step in the right direction. Until now most of us probably thought the devs didn't even listen to the customers. This was compounded by the fan fest notes showing that none of the devs or SOE employees there had any clue as to what any professions top 5 problems were. Communication between the Dev team and the player base is very poor and really needs to improve. We have no idea what is planned for any profession in the future. This gets to be extremely frustrating when right when we figure something is bugged on TC the patch goes live. We need more communication on what is going on and where the game is going. The In Concept notes are a good idea in theory but the way they are formatted makes it nearly impossible for %99.99 of us to get any usefully information on how it will apply to our characters.

This knee jerk reaction to the problems caused by the CU is a major over reaction on the part of SOE. Yes we are all screaming to have our professions fixed but slower fixes that show real improvement without breaking something else will do more to placate your customers then rushing patches out that break something else AND not having time to fix it because your too busy adding content. I don't think any player would object to going 2 or even 3 months with no new content if it meant that the problems with the game were worked on. New players have no need for new content as they still have yet to go through all the content the game veterans have been through allready. The veteran players are the ones who would be affected most by a few months with no content additions and I'm postive all of them would gladly accept a delay on new content if it meant their issues would get fixed and the professions would finally be balanced.

LOL, so this is how JFreeman plans on getting the players to want to come into the cantinas when he removesBF from the game, since you won't be able to play as a CH you will want to sit in the cantina to aleviate your boredom.

I'm so lucky to have some many broken professions on one toon: BE, Ent, CH.

Just wait, the response of the Dev team will be to extend the double xp. Now why should all non CH get a benefit from a bug that only effects us (well any non CH with their weak lvl 10). Now if they go and extend the CH xp after the bug is fixed that will still be a problem because most of us would be getting double xp for our other professions if we were using our pets in combat now. There is only one solution give us a powerful pet or like Hardley said let us mount our giant peko peko(only gaints should be mountable). Flying around town on a giant bird would be cool and make us the envy of all non CH.

yay Chacca ... now I got two votes for mountable giant peko pekos lol

Even though I have not gotten a Giant PekoPeko yet I would vote for that.

I respec'ed from TKM/Master Doctor after the great CU debacle. I pick CH/Squad Leader as they involve what I consider fun. I see so many NON JEDI professions getting borked every publish. BE, Tailor, AS, Ent, Doc and TKM. I know I have said this before, but we got screwed by the CU, I told them in Indy that it sucked and it STILL DOES! And it keeps sucking harder!

I'm upset that this happened, and I wish I had the power to fix it but I don't. I'm taking a break from playing until the bug is fixed, as I really can't do much that I want to do without my pets right now. I'll let you know if I hear any further info, and I have requested that a "red name" stop by to talk to us, but I don't know if that will happen or is possible.

Thanks for sticking out the profession, and I'm really sorry about this.

So sorry to hear about this going in. If you want to hang out at all send Kisal a tell, you have my support as a Sunrunner Ranger. Anything you want me to track, you got it until this bug is fixed.

I would like to apologize to all CH's out there. Pre CU I was Master Tailor / Master Dancer with a little brawler to stay alive.

Post CU, I decided that the dancing was not worth keeping for the 6 months it would take to have an entertainer revamp, so I went Master BE. Unfortunately, then they broke tailor BE tissues in patch 18

I still had some respec available, and I decided to switch around and become novice CH. Then they broke CH.

I still have my token respec. Anyone want to pick a profession for me to break next? I could respec to MBH/Smuggler...

Take Ranger or DE, these are already broken. Much more is almost impossible (note: it can be done....)
