Considering people only have 3000 max health...well...that thing could kill a player faster than a swordsman could, and that's FAST mind you . No, our thing isn't nearly that powerful....

So am I. That's why I'm against this secrecy nonsense. It REWARDS the power gamers.

The power gamers, if they are going to want this mysterious benefit, WILL get it. Keeping it a secret 'till after respec might DELAY them a few days or maybe even a couple weeks. But, if it's good enough to draw them they will eventually simply grind out CH as fast as they can and take advantage.

On the other hand, the people who DON'T power grind, like me and many other CH's, the people who take months to master a profession because they play the game as intended are being affected even MORE than the power gamers via this silly secret clique mentality. We who have templates that have been screwed by the CU and MUST take advantage of the respec so that we can continue to enjoy the benefits of all our previous hard work really need to know whether or not we should respect to, or away from, CH. By keeping this a secret, and bestowing it only on the 'in' crowd, they are costing us possibly months of XP so they can spite the power gamers just a little bit. THAT is why people call it childish. When you hate some people so badly you'll screw the innocent a lot just to screw them a little, that's childish. And in this case, utterly counter-productive as well as highly reminiscent of just that same 'i gotta be the coolest most uber' mentality they claim they are against.

So, in essence, they are hurting the non-power gamers MORE than the power gamer FOTM's. I can't believe so many people are oblivious to this simple fact.

To ziege: If you were a FOTMer, which would you choose:

1. Being a swordsman who can kill a person in 4 hits (Im seriously not kidding here, that's how fast one got me in a duel, and I was a CL 80 with commando, that's somewhere around 130 meele defence, and I was indeed wearing appropriate armor, and we were both buffed.)

2. Being a BH/Insert high DPS ranged prof here hybrid template with rooting shot who can root a person in place and have them dead LONG before the root wears off

3. Respeccing to a profession which has had a long and hard reputation of being the target of the nerf bat and little dev attention all because of an unrevealed secret that so far hasn't caused massive hate/drama from all the people who've died from it, and also hasn't had anyone screaming from glee about how we will be "The win".

Yea, somehow it doesn't look like CH is a great option for FOTMers. We have, however, had a sudden burst of people respeccing to CH, but it appears only because their very bored with beingother professions, and only want something as new and exiting as CH. (I've talked to several of these people, their very popular people on the server, and highly bored as they tell me. I've even given one a pet that was hopelessly nerfed by stats as they were gathering pets...they don't care about winning much at all except a few I think.) Yes, this isn't good for distributing this boost to the CH who have been here for a long time. No, it's not nearly as much influx as we would see if FOTMers took any interest, which somehow, I seriously dought they will.

Much appreciation for Dodece. I agree with all 3 of your reasons for presenting this and the wayyou did it.

You giveincentive for an on-the-fence-but-probably-staying-with-it CH to hang in there, but not enough of a hintfor the power player to drop MBH forMCH. So, thank you, even if it does get taken away in the future.

One question: I have a miscellaneous template and am 4-2-0-4 CH. Is that sufficient to reap whatever mysterious benefit there is?

Grind a bit more. You won't need to be MCH to take advantage, but you want some good skill mods.

As fellowcreature handlers, you of all people should know better than beating a dead horse!

Just give it a rest and wait until after Respec.

Man I hope this isn't all that great tbh...

Been MCH for well over a year now and loved it, but the CU was the final straw - can't seem to do anything worthwhile with my pets anymore so I am trying out other options with the respec which I think I am going to stick with. Don't really have the time or the willto grind out the other profs I want to try at the moment so the respec is a bit of a blessing.

It will be most upsetting if I change my template and this 'secret' turns out to really make MCH worth keeping and similarly painful if I keep it and it turns out not to be of interest to me.

Anyway, I guess I will go with the respec and live with the consequences.

If you like doing stuff with pets, then why drop CH during respec? Just wait it all out and find out what the news is. I started with fencer back when just about no one was fencer and xp was tougher for the melee people, cause I liked it. I grabbed CH and didn't care too much when it got all the nerfs cause it was just what I wanted to do. It actually made things more challenging and funwith just me and my pets and no buffs. Fencer has been uber, CH has been uber, and now it seems both are weak on their own but gook as acombo. Respec is almost done, can wait another week to find out the big secret.

I sure hope that whatever you found justifies the amount of animosity and unease you created on this board...

The next time you make such a find you might want to sit back for a moment and ponder how it will be perceived on the boardwhen you create a clique with which you decide to share your knowledge...

And only those inside that secret society are to be considered trustworthy and secretive enough to keep their mouth shut about whatever you tell them - until it is time to share it with the lowly rest of the Creature Handler community...

I really can't believe you were really that surprised about the reaction you got from some people here...

You could have prevented this whole moot discussion by just sending PMs to your "chosen ones" and asking them to verify whatever it is you found... There was no need to make this public at that point - especially when you never had the intention to really make it "public" - meaning giving information to anyone...
