Thread: Something has happened something wonderful

Anyway, I guess I will go with the respec and live with the consequences.
Same here. Sucks making the decision in the dark, doesn't it? Especially when it would be so easy for others to help you out. Oh well, that's the way these games are, some people are helpful, some aren't.
But all the uber kiddies will have to grind for a week...hooray for the 'community'!
Well whatever the "suprise" is, I'm game. Please drop a PM To this MCarb/MCH (a very nerfed combo fora while now). I'm looking forward to having a "hook" to keep MCH instead of dropping and hitting up MSmuggler or Mcommando.
Thanks in advance and help some of us 2yr plus'ers stay in the loop.
Ziege I know your new and all so I will fill you in as to how the game dynamice works.
1. Players expecially the FOTM kind flock to any profession that gets a few more hit points or damage mitigation. You have your doubts I will lay them to rest with some common examples.
BH within the first month of the game. Many BHs discover fire knockdown.A move used to dizzy and knockdown an opponent. The move is flawless it is unaffected by mitigation. AP of the carbine, or the accuracy modifiers. Hit the button instant pinning maneuver. Players flock to BH carbines. Half the gamers get upset. Half the gamers get the BH knockdowns nerfed. Until the CU the bh carbine line was totally worthless. The moves had been reduced to a 5 percent chance of success or lower. In other words unuseable.
TKM pushes to get more offensive power pointing out they cannot take out anything without ranged support. The profession is rewarded by the devs with a serious kick in the damage range. The net result of this is a player that is unhittable that does the damage of a ranged profession. This is why up until the CU TKM was the template for 80 percent of the player base.
Pistoleer/fencer combo. Players discover that stacking these professions makes the player unhittable and thus immune to all attacks pvp and pve accept for being poisoned and diseased. Tgus got nerfed real good.
CH before the great nerf players discover the use of CH. What first started as a sidelineing by BHs to do bounty missions. Flourishes into a mass migration to the profession. To the point where CH was a component of most player templates and overpowered creatures wreak havoc in the pvp and pve arena.
These are the fears, and the nerf bat hits with signifigance to the level of use. If 50 percent of the base went ch tommorrow you can bet another nerfing would ravage our fine profession.
Your fear that the FOTM guys will get it a few weeks from now is unfounded. It has been said over and over and over again. That this is a limited time kind of thing. Only enough for so many. Good for the FOTM if they grind up into ch. The truth is they get left out in the rain.

New? Not me. Check the date. As for your explanation of what FOTM means, thanks, but I know. In fact, that they flock wherever they can get an edge was exactly my point. Thought I'd made that clear. In any case, whatever your secret is, it being a "limited time kind of thing" only makes me think it's headed for a "fix", and certainly nothing to consider when trying to decide whether or not to dump my CH boxes or not. Thanks to other players who prefer being helpful to being 1337 I've learned enough to decide on my new template. I'll go enjoy it while you enjoy being uber, no worries. We'll both have fun, I hope.
Ziege <- hoping to track down one of these "dynamice." I mean, who doesn't want a dynamouse?
Despite what the original poster says about his "intentions," in actuality he's just being selfish. This selfishness is being cloaked in the guise of "doing it for our own good" kind of logic. But in reality, you are just being selfish. You have it. You want to keep it. You don't want alot of other people to have it. You don't truly care what happens in the long term cos you have already benefitted.
If you were doing it for the "good" of the community, like you claim, then you would also be a little more in touch with the community. I have been a MCH since early on in this game, and I have also been a MBH since early on. Have clung to them despite all the FOTM rush to melee etc. In order to pursue some of the FS skills I made a decision to drop MCH, but clung on to my pets in the hope that one day I would be able to use them again, either through my current toon or an alt. CU brought a glimmer of hope in that regard with the respec process and not needing master marksman for BH. Spent much time on TC testing out templates. Still found CH to be vastly underpowered. On live watched everyone flock to MBH. /shrug. You claim that will happen to CH if you divulge this secret. /shrug.
You say it's a limited time thing and that's why you don't want the FOTM flocking to it. That logic is what truly reveals your motivations. You don't want to reveal it because you want it for yourself, and whatever few you have decided "deserve" it. That is the definition of selfish.
So don't be the wolf in sheep's clothing and say you posted this thread in order to give hope to the community. Like some other posters said, you were truly just bragging. Once respec is over and I have opted out of CH because of it's current state and because I don't have the knowledge you apparently have, I won't be able to go back to CH once the SECRET is revealed. So how exactly does that truly benefit the community? How does that benefit the disillusioned CH"s who truly enjoyed it? OH I SEE, they didn't enjoy it as much as you and your friends, so you are MORE deserving.Don't you see how that's insulting? You want us all to GAMBLE on your secret and squander our respec chance on your word? Now how does that make sense? And then you have the audacity to be upset when people criticize you on this thread? You deserved every bit you got.
I am new to CH and not yet mastered, butit's fun. As I posted elsewhere, when I first started playing a year ago, I was heading for CH, but changed my mind.
Since the CU, my second char was floundering a bit, so I thought I would give CH a try. I love taming creatures and training them, it's lovely to see them grow too. I have trained my veractyl, he is pretty useful in a fight.
Now everything change. My mantigrue screecher is useless. All my pets are useless dammit!! Months of effort are useless!!!
Most of the time i cant tame, or my pets are bugged and do not listen my orders. My pets cant get agro now, they cant tank, and you are telling me that we have to wait until respec finish for a "limited time kind of thing".
Who the hell do you think that you are to play with our feelings? Its enought hard for some of us leave this profession to listen how wonderfull can be a "limited time reward". I do not know your problem, and i can not understand why you do not want to tell to your community and why you do not want that new/old players come back to be MCH while respec works.
Do not know if you are a litle kid, but you really wait that we squander our respec chance on your word???
100% Agree with Havoc.
