Thread: ** The CH Necklace is a Loot **

...So what you are saying is that anyone, ranging from some noob who bought the game yesterday and some vet whose been playing pre-launch (beta) should be able to get this rare lootand his combat/gaming skillsand/or knowledge of the game and how to play itshouldn't matter?...
...You don't play as much as you use to...you do know that this mission takes about one hr, if even that to run. If you don't have an hour to run then instance then do you really believe you actually deserve the loot in the first place?...
...but if you don't then I suggest maybe checking out other guilds that you'd be happier in. Also, your Pet does not need to take up a slot in the group, he works just as well outside of the group and will probably be getting more xp if he is lvl 69 and your group is killing level 80+s....
...Alot of it seemed like a bunch of whining because it is a rare drop off a hard boss in which you need a nice solid group to take down. The other half was people flaming the poster because he/she/it didn't post a screenshot and they decided to say he was full of it....
I never said that anyone should be able to get the necklace. I just said that it shouldn't require such a large high level group to get.
The mission may take about an hour, but what if you don't loot it on the first try? It may take 15 or 20 times before it gets looted. And then you may be in a group who would rather sell it then give it away. And so by your reasoning, I don't deserve the same chances as someone who has nothing better to do than play video games? That's one of the reasons MMORPG's miss with so many people. The balance of the game is based off of those who play for hours at a time. So those with a few hours to play can't really ever compete.
And I'm completely happy with my current guild. We help out each other in several ways. It's just the way things worked out that my job has me working a completely opposite schedule as everyone else. We get in maybe a day or two a week where I'm around when others are on too. But what about those who aren't guilded? I was unguilded for a long time because most guilds are full of self preserving jedis and jedi wannabes. Again, by your reasoning, someone unguilded doesn't deserve this necklace because they can't get a group together to go in?
And if your pet isn't grouped and gets hit with an area attack, it will suffer. Then the group has to wait for you to either heal your pet, or incap recover/store and call another pet.
I'm not commenting on the OP because I tend to disregard the first few "I found it" posts. Until a pattern can be determined or more than a few people post about it, there's no way to tell if it's true or not. I can come on and say how I got the necklace as a random drop off some of Jabba's Thugs.
Oh, and yeah, people like you piss me off. You lend nothing to threads except your repeated use of the phrases "stop whining" "stop complaining" "finda group" etc. If it was that easy tofind a group, do you think we'd all be here on the forums discussing it?
If you don't get it on the first try you go tomorrow, or the next day...It's a chance drop so someone can go once and get it and someone can go twenty times and not get int. It seems to be a random drop according to the original poster. If you're in a group that would rather sell it then use it, well...what can I say? You chose to be in that group so it is in a sense your fault. While I agree in a sense that MMORPGs seem to lean towards the more dedicated, I also believe that it should be that way. If someone plays five hours a day that is up to them...if it takes 10 hours to complete a quest, but they play 10 hours straight while you seperate it into 5 days of 2 hours, what is the difference? They are playing more then you so they WILL eventually get the stuff quicker then those who don't. It's just the way the game is and the way many things work.

Oh, and just a P.S. For someone who claims he has little time to play the game, it is amazing how you worked up a 2600 post count in only a year. Just amused me since I remember reading you telling me to continue trolling.
/agree with Snooz and Tiro. No need for this to be one of those "jetpack" or "mando armor" uber rares. Why? What is the point of it? None. Just because one guy wants it to be uber rare does not mean it should be.Kinda contradictory to say on one hand that we can't expect the game to cater to us, then on theother hand, in the same post even, say that it should be THIS certain way.Think about how damn rediculous it would be. And what is the exact point of it being so rare anyways? So some first day newb can't go out and get it? Well excuse me, but a first day newb wouldn't even survive on Mustafar past the exit to the mining outpost, let alone survive the quest/fight to get it...and even then they have to be CL 80 to even equip it.
But yet all these uber Jedi loots are so fudging easy to get, throug hquest and drop...no one's complaining over there!
BTW: Yes, CH's tend to be more of a solo lot. I only group when I village grind on Dant or for the rare quest I can't solo on Mustafar. Other than that, I am a solo goes...as are most of us. In fact in almost EVERY SINGLE MMO where there is a creature handler/beast master/pet class, they are intended to be a solo oriented class. And yes, CH was originally intended to be just that.

I don't believe this guy merely for the fact that he couldn't take a screenshot and post it. It really is NOT complicated and takes a mere matter of minutes. Seems to me that he'd take those few minutes of his time to keep his credibility intact.
However, that being said, I do lend some merit to the fact that this is a DROP item. I just can't fathom in my mind that they'd make it part of that insanely stupid Chu-Gon Cube (which is nothing more than furniture in my home ATM). I have been told by people that a lot of the weapons and items received from the cube can also be found as drops, and to my knowledge, no uber rare item (like the necklace seems to be) has even been discovered with the cube yet.
I have noticed a trend on Mustafar that may actually help us out here. Melee boss mobs tend to drop melee weapons, ranged tend to drop ranged weapons. I am only judging by what I have seen so far so I could be wrong. Perhaps this ever elusive necklace drops from one of the many named creatures on the planet. I have heard they actually do drop loots, not just the occassional jaw bone and body parts, but I have never found one on any that I have soloed or defeated in a group.
To the OP, if you take the few measely seconds to verify your claim, we may believe you...but in the last two years of Galaxies, I have been lied to, duped into believing crap, and ripped off so forgive me and other veteren players if we don't believe you without proof.
Good point about stuff that's in the Cube showing up as loot drops elsewhere on Mustafar...
Perhaps the Cube was meant as a way for Non-combat people to be able to get sought after items without having to go into combat...by simply getting the cube (which is easy to get even for a crafter) and buying glowing items off of the bazaar or vendors.
I know one way we can confirm this![]()
I will get on my Jedi and do the quest that leads to him. This at least finally gives us the direction we needed to find the necklace and wish that swg would have simply made this known instead of making us jump like hoops when we got our pre-release.
I've been through the Doombringer quest multiple times now, so I would think that you just don't have the guild/team to run through it yourself. Not a flame, just saying it is probable, not improbable.

And has been stated, it is improbable that the uber elite group that succeeds in looting it from Doombringer would have a creature handler in the team.
