Correct. That was one and there were others. You could store pets right before they died and also do things like get into a duel with someone and then whip out a pet and other "suprise!" poke-pet maneuvers.

The other part of this equation is that camps have changed a lot since their original design as well - - that was why Holo thought it would be a good idea to lift the restrictions.

As part of the camp changes, we'll see these in Publish 7. I can't wait

yes, but do you realize that these griefs are no longer possible, even without camps?

there's no need for another timer in addition the storing timer.

  • pets don't store in combat (or 1 minute after combat).

  • pets can't be called in combat (not surprises for anyone once combat starts).

  • pets don't insta-heal in the datapad anymore.

  • etc

If therewere any exploits still possible, you'd know itby nowbecause we've always been able to call pets "at will" in the city.

sowhy do we need a delay timer to call them without a camp?

***TH---so whats the difference between this and a PC with a title of novice dancer holding a cdef weapon, getting in a duel or PVP fight(which according to you is only 15% of the population) and hitting their macro key which in about 1 second equips all their armor and flamethrower? by your own definition that is also an exploit, what are you doing about that? or hitting that macro and equiping thier armor and heavy sword for a "pirates of the carribean maneuver?" I'd bet nothing is being done about it.

Do you know once you are in combat it is IMPOSSIBLE to call a pet. If you are aggroed you can NOT call a pet. this 30 sec timer is unjustified and not needed.

then after the cbt you must wait 1 min before storing your pet. so again I ask you directly TH why do we need the 30 sec timer.???

What always irked me about pets (not sure if it has been fixed or not since I don't PvP anymore because of the GTEF crap) was that they do not die.

Ok they are a pain tohave to get them and waitto growup - so that is fine don't have them perma-die. But if I take one out it should not be possible for the owner to just walk up and heal it (or more annoying kill the owner and the pet keeps getting back up and attacking you - just to fall over again). If a player dies they clone or a doc revives them. If a pet dies you heal them and they are back in business.

Why not allow docs to rez pets (for no XP of course) or provide pet-rez packs like stim/vitality packs. Once rez'ed a pet has a 60 second timer (same as a player right?) for entering back into combat. Or make it so that you can clone your pet (same as players clone) and if it dies it goes back to the cloning centre unless rez'ed.

Prepared fortheone star I will be getting :-P

Because it is yet another pointless time sink annoyance that makes the profession and the game less fun to play, that's why.

You non-ch's keep saying: "OMG is 30 seconds so long?"

Yes...when it's 30 seconds for the first pet...30 seconds for the 2nd pet...30 seconds for the third pet...oh...can you train my pet...sure...store pet...trade pet...30 seconds to call pet...etc etc etc.

If you don't understand how this quickly adds up to hair pulling frustration, then you're obtuse enough that you cannot possibly have anything useful to add to this discussion.

As well, it is simply unfair. No one else is saddled with this pointless restriction on the tools of their trade.

Actually, according to TH, it would be 30 seconds to call pet, then 30 seconds for pet to store and another 30 seconds for next pet to come out. Basically, a full minute from the time you click on store for the first pet before the second pet appears.

We don't need yet another BS nerf like this.

As pointed out, you already can't call in combat, and already can't store directly after combat... so why is it a problem that there's a short delay between call and arrival if you can call them almost anywhere?

Because it's not necessary,if the imagined "griefing exploits" have been fixed.

These new timers as a hedge against future abuse? OK, let's draw an analogy to the to the real world on this notion. You haven't robbed any banks, but we're just going to put you in jail to make sure you never do, OK?

It's another idiotic waste of my time in a game that seems to depend on idiotic wastes of my time. There are already timers to prevent these situations; why do there need to be more for some imaginary unknown future exploit that exists only with the narrow confines of TH's head?

This is utterly illogical and is yet another means of punishing CHs for daring to be CHs. TH's repeated use of "poke" when refering to CH is indicative of his true attitude toward this profession; he wants us gone. We are obviously having fun; for some reason this drives TH batty, which is an interesting reaction for an employee of a company that is running a game.

Why do people complain about having to wait for the shuttles? Because people don't like to wait, whether it is in real life or while playing a game.

I am a BE and a CH and almost all of my gameplay revolves around pets in some fashion. I make them, I tame them, I train them,I sell them. I keep a stock of trained pets ready to sell rather than sell pet deeds on a vendor. I frequently call and store pets to show potential customers what I have. A delay everytime I try to call a pet will be extremely annoying.

You don't state what your profession is, but imagine if the developers imposed a delay in something that you do frequently. If you're a crafter, there is a 30 second delay evertyime you want to start crafting. If you're an entertainer, there is a 30 second delay everytime you want to do a flourish. If you wear armor there is a 30 second delay every time you want to don a piece of armor...every peice. Not that the delay is needed or solves any problem, it's just there as a hedge against future abuses.I admit these examples are absurd, but I feel the need for a 30 second delay when calling a pet to be equally absurd.

And then the pets wake up and you get them down again and again and again and again and again and again.Yeah that doesn't get old. That is an issue when you are wanting to stay in the area and the idiot CHer won't store the pets and they won't leave the area (not sure if that is fixed now - been a while since I PvPed).

Who wants to run away from the pets - when I was PvPing I loved that ing out the two grauls (before the owner) then the owner - rather have the owner watch it happen :-) Let the owner have to waste stims - makes my day.

Thats been fixed

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but why do vehicles have timers on them before you can store them once they've been attacked? Surely if you can differentiate between PvP and PvE deaths, you can differentiate between that which thumps and that which hums can't you?

I've heard of the bug that makes npcs or animals believe you're grouped with your vehicle, but that's bogus. If npcs take shots at your vehicle I get that, but being about 60m away from your vehicle and attacking something like a gronda...an animal should even think about going over and smashing a vehicle. It doesn't breath and it doesn't hum. If you are to leave it as it is I propose that when the vehicle blows up finally whatever attacked it is killed in the process. Like I said before, I understand if a bipedal npc starts hitting it, but animals shouldn't.

Well, maybe to make a good statement of how unhappyyou are with the system and how things are going, CH'ers should skip a month or two of SWG. I'm sure the decrease in money coming in from them would speak more than words. Why support something that isn't helping you?

we should be able to just call them regardless. What u need to do is delete the pet levels. Its really hard to get master and use the (good)pets. We should be able to tame krayt dragons.

""""· A player will not be able to call a pet/mount/vehicle while incapacitated or dead.

· A player will not be able to call a pet/mount/vehicle if they are at or exceed their max level limit or number of type limit for that classification of follower.

· A player will not be able to call a pet/mount/vehicle while indoors.

A player will not be able to call a pet/mount/vehicle during combat or 60 seconds after combat is concluded (For technical reasons, it has to be 60 seconds to prevent certain kinds of grief).

So there you have it. You said you wanted it changed, it’s a change that’s good for the game and its changed

(Expect this change to go in effect in Publish 7 which will be mid-to-late February)

Currently, I can call pets at any time in a city with no timer, switch between pets on the fly so to speak, as long as I don't engage in combat. If I engage in combat, I have to wait 60 seconds to store the pet I have out at the moment, or I have to wait tilI am not in combat to bring out a pet. In combat I can not call a pet, I must disengage from combat first, and if in a city, I would be able to call another pet, if I only have one out and am able to control 3 at a time. If in the wild, I would need to be in a camp to do this, but once again, I could still call the pet as long as I was not over my limit and not in combat. This is how it has been for awhile, and how it currently is.

Athiana wrote: "Yes...when it's 30 seconds for the first pet...30 seconds for the 2nd pet...30 seconds for the third pet...oh...can you train my pet...sure...store pet...trade pet...30 seconds to call pet...etc etc etc."

Can you copy the part where you saw that? I copied the part that was typed out by TH, and highlighted the part that was changed from how the current system is.

Now,the changemeans if I am in town, and am in combat, I can disengage from combat, and not be able to instantly call a pet if I was within my control limit, I would have to wait 60 seconds. If I was in the wild, I would have to wait 60 seconds after disengaging from combat to call a new pet, but without acamp this time. You see, I missed the part where it added 30 seconds to calling a pet in general, or 30 seconds added anywhere for that matter, all I see is that I would not be able to call another pet instantly anywhere when out of combat, without first being out of combat for 60 seconds myself. Otherwise, I would be able to call, lets say a lvl 35 pet (wild or bio'd) in the wild....begin combat.....let pet tank....disengage personally from combat while pet is fighting.....and call another lvl 30 pet instantly.....instead I would have to wait 60 seconds before I could do this, but on the other hand I wouldn't have to have worry about making a camp first and being out of range of the lair or anything else that camps don't like to be near.

So you see, the part that I missed was the extra 30 seconds to call the pet....if this is true, and you can show that to me, then I think I'll not be playing SWG again. And as far as dueling people that are "secret" masters....well if you look at their bio, whichI have ahabit of doing justto see whatthey'veaccomplished, you'll see they areMTKA or whatever, but in PvP, its just not logical to assume that the odds are going to be even.....expect theunexpected andtake death with a grain of salt, that's what I normally do, but I can understand it not being foreveryone.Anyone watching Lineage II? Looks like an awesome game, I came from DAOC as it was, I like that atmosphere
