A player will not be able to call a pet/mount/vehicle during combat or 60 seconds after combat is concluded (For technical reasons, it has to be 60 seconds to prevent certain kinds of grief).

So there you have it. You said you wanted it changed, it’s a change that’s good for the game and its changed

(Expect this change to go in effect in Publish 7 which will be mid-to-late February)

Currently, I can call pets at any time in a city with no timer, switch between pets on the fly so to speak, as long as I don't engage in combat. If I engage in combat, I have to wait 60 seconds to store the pet I have out at the moment, or I have to wait tilI am not in combat to bring out a pet. In combat I can not call a pet, I must disengage from combat first, and if in a city, I would be able to call another pet, if I only have one out and am able to control 3 at a time. If in the wild, I would need to be in a camp to do this, but once again, I could still call the pet as long as I was not over my limit and not in combat. This is how it has been for awhile, and how it currently is.

Athiana wrote: "Yes...when it's 30 seconds for the first pet...30 seconds for the 2nd pet...30 seconds for the third pet...oh...can you train my pet...sure...store pet...trade pet...30 seconds to call pet...etc etc etc."

Can you copy the part where you saw that? I copied the part that was typed out by TH, and highlighted the part that was changed from how the current system is.

Now,the changemeans if I am in town, and am in combat, I can disengage from combat, and not be able to instantly call a pet if I was within my control limit, I would have to wait 60 seconds. If I was in the wild, I would have to wait 60 seconds after disengaging from combat to call a new pet, but without acamp this time. You see, I missed the part where it added 30 seconds to calling a pet in general, or 30 seconds added anywhere for that matter, all I see is that I would not be able to call another pet instantly anywhere when out of combat, without first being out of combat for 60 seconds myself. Otherwise, I would be able to call, lets say a lvl 35 pet (wild or bio'd) in the wild....begin combat.....let pet tank....disengage personally from combat while pet is fighting.....and call another lvl 30 pet instantly.....instead I would have to wait 60 seconds before I could do this, but on the other hand I wouldn't have to have worry about making a camp first and being out of range of the lair or anything else that camps don't like to be near.

So you see, the part that I missed was the extra 30 seconds to call the pet....if this is true, and you can show that to me, then I think I'll not be playing SWG again. And as far as dueling people that are "secret" masters....well if you look at their bio, whichI have ahabit of doing justto see whatthey'veaccomplished, you'll see they areMTKA or whatever, but in PvP, its just not logical to assume that the odds are going to be even.....expect theunexpected andtake death with a grain of salt, that's what I normally do, but I can understand it not being foreveryone.Anyone watching Lineage II? Looks like an awesome game, I came from DAOC as it was, I like that atmosphere

It was posted by TH on "Publish 7: Major 'Features' " thread:

From thread by Vertexon (which was copied from post by TH):

Camp Restrictions Removed: After Publish 7, players will no longer be required to be in camps to pull out Vehicles, Mounts, Droids or Pets and can pull them out wherever they are, eliminating the player inconveniences of having to find rural areas far from cities, lairs and other no-build zones in order to build a camp. The basic rules of calling Vehicles, Mounts, Droids or Pets are:

· A player will not be able to call a vehicle/mount/pet/droid during combat or 60 seconds after combat is concluded.

· There is a 30 second delay after you call for a vehicle/mount/pet/droid before it will generate.

· A player will not be able to call a mount/pet/droid while mounted or on a vehicle.

· A player will not be able to call a vehicle while mounted or on a vehicle.

Although he conveniently neglected to mention the 30 secs for pet to disappear whenever you store it which he has stated was part of same timer additions in a previous thread. We need to find out if SOE being lame enough to implement that too. I wouldn't put it past them judgeing by previous experiences.

Well, it looks like my game time with SWG is at its end this month.

Open date: September 7, 2003

Close date: March 4, 2004

And I won't be returning.

I'm one of the few people that doesn't care to follow this ludicrous path to jedi, switching professions just so they can keep me playing the game for additional months. For me, my plan was straightforward,I achieved it, and am extremely content with my skills. Some medic, 4/3/4/0 it turned out as; Master Pikeman, which I'm very happy with; and Master Creature Handler, which is going to become a veritable pain in the ass to play.I actually do continue to supplement my income with creature sales in the game; sold 2 boar wolves for 25k a piece, a mantrigrue hunter for 38k, and a crimson razor cat for 29k, just the other day. Unfortunately, with this additional 30 second delay, AND, not being able to sell my pets on a bazaar or vendor without having to:

1. find someone that can do this for me;

2. drop some skill points to pick up merchant; either of these options is going against my style of gameplay, which is to be self-sufficient for the most part.

means that I willhave tospend even more time sitting around the starport in sales....just todisplay pets. Having to trade off a pet to someone means I'd have to wait for that trusted person to log in before I could do that....this is unacceptable.Having to drop skill points to pick up a skill that will destroy my character specilizations is utterly preposterous to me. I solo alot, because I don't have the time to find groups....it's just not a feasible option for a part-time player such as myself. Sure I could use pet-stims to heal my pet, but I'm not so worried about them getting killed as I am myself in the long run...for they are their to help ME, and if I don't live, then the point is lost. I would never them into that kind of a corner anyway, and with the damage output I do, most creatures can't last against me for more than a minute or so.

Well, it was fun playing while it lasted, I really did like my combination of skills. Granted when they finally fixed BE's and added vehicles that killed the income portion of CH by quite alot , but that's not to say that money can not be made with this profession...as I've proved to myself in the past daily. The sad thing is, the loss of my money won't impact any decisions, nor will my words. And what's even sadder is that some people will still continue to play this game, even after the recent changes, which in non-ch'ers minds is "ONLY 30 SECONDS, WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?", it's ok,I know they just could not understand. But I choose to not funda company that does not listen to their customers. It's just like any company, or any service based company for that matter. What would happen if a car company said, you can't get into your car for 30 seconds after unlocking it, and you can't get out of it for 60 seconds after shutting off the engine. It's a ludicrous comparison, and meant to be over the top, but it's dramatic as such to make a small point bigger for people not in CH profession. The 60 seconds thing I really can live with, the 30 seconds thing makes about as much sense as me continuing to play this game(which just slapped me in the face and said it was good for me) and pay for it as well. Not that my leaving will change anyone's minds, but consider what you are paying for, make a freakin statement and do what is the right thing you believe to be true.

Wait till they Have to wait 30 sec for their med droid to appear and 30 sec for their vehicle. Then they will begin to feel the pain.
