Thread: Something has happened something wonderful

Well its actually been a wonderful sense of annoyance for me. What was supposed to be a hope filled post has basically generated into a total monkey poo orgey fight. In between the positive posts. I get to hear alot of complaints greifs and insults, and if that were enough I am getting my forum mail spammed with all sorts of nonsense.
80 count them eighy forum mails in less then 24 hours. Some pleading some insulting, and some plain out and out threatening.
So in an attempt to satisfy the mob. I made another post offering to provide something for them to verify in game, and for that effort I got attacked and berated more so.
I am pondering if it would just be better to keep this to myself and those I have discussed it with. Seeing how many CHs seem to think the way to get what they want is to treat me like dog crap. Like I owe something to them. Most are not realizeing I do not have to give them squat. Hey nimrods I am not vert I do not have to put up with your nonsense. I am willing to share some valuable info with you, and all I said was wait a week.
I do not know I am just sorely disappointed with how this whole thing turned out.
You may have discovered something really cool that benefits the creature handler? That's wonderful.
You want to avoid a sudden inrush of FOTMs because of the respec period? That makes perfect sense.
Those of us angry at you are not disputing these points. What OUR point is is that given those first two statements, you shouldn't have posted anything about it on the boards in the first place! So forgive us if we aren't ready yet to throw garlands at your feet. You're being treated like dog crap because you said something you shouldn't have and are being - rightly, IMHO - berated for it, not because we feel we expect or deserve something from you.

One of the big things about it is that people right now can't grind CH at all below teir 1, the XP cap is there, no one can learn more skills, which is why once the respec time is over we can tell everyone about this.
Anyway, this boost can only be used by existing CH, and it will only be available for a short period of time. that's why we can't tell everyone about it, otherwise people could just respec to CH and take all the advantage for themselves, cutting us veteren CH out of the loop forever. You can't solo CL 200 dark novatroopers with this at all, but it will more than make up for this "My CL 50 pet got owned by a CL 40 mountain worrt" nonsense. It's not an exploit at all, and it doesn't seem to be all that powerful against people who really know how to PvP, (it will however put skill against skill,a battle betweensome of the bestPvP templates and a veteren CH will come down to who knows what their doing more)and we probably still won't be able to kill jedi. (That however appears to be intended, another plus for this hopefully not being nerfed.) No, you cannot tame Krayts, don't be silly....
hmmmmmm......im starting to not like the sound of this. I am a veteran player that was a CH in 2003 and some 2004 but dropped it after that. So it sounds like your saying i wont be able to get this bonus........thats kind of disappointing.............

If they did something like you suggest after all this teasing, I swear I would dig until I discovered it for myself, then broadcast it on every profession forum in this system just to spite you, Freth.

As a long-standing CH since the beginning, I'm happy to hear this good news. I'm willing to waittil after the respecfor the reveal, but if you see it in your heart to let an old timer try it on Gorath drop me a line.
I take the possibility of the FOTMproblem very seriously. You're absolutely right. People will flock to CH like stink on pudu if they caught wind of it. Definitely keep it under wraps. I can't believe how some of our fellow CH's are acting, berating you for keeping it a secret. It makes perfect sense.
A suggestion... even after the respec is dropped, I think you should be selective who you tell about this, otherwise you'll have people bragging about it on the boards and to their friends. If it's truly what you say it is it needs to stay hush hush in my opinion.
Wow. So bitter.
Seriously though. I guess I'm just looking at it from the perspective of trying to keep CH for people who enjoy the profession as a whole; i.e. excluding the power gamers from the gravy. Once word got out power gamers would grind in droves just to get the newfound goodness. To each their own I suppose. It was just my own opinion.
You also have to take into consideration that others, such as myself, have been a extremly dedicated MHC since day one also, so not knowing something that will maybe restoreour faith in this profession that others know and is keeping a childish secret is downright... childish.
Yeah yeah keep telling me your if ands and buts, but seriously, I amready to run out my door to best buy and pickup a copy of Guild Wars. To be honest with you, I really hate this game now, the only fun thing to do is explore and look at all the new tamables saying to myself " I wish I had room to tame that"
end of story (not in a mean way but in a optamistic way)

LOL... just being facetious. I can actually relate to what you're saying, and your concerns about the powergamers.
I just hope this isn't some off-the-wall exploit or something that would risk being "fixed" by the devs as soon as it became popular.
Surely it cant be better than my level 69, 785 dmg, 9.2K health Post CU BE'd Pet? (tookmequite some DNA to get him down to level 69 (had some unfortunate level 72 and 73 mishaps).
