Thread: Let's Talk About Mounts
- Seldom. Perhaps for a change of pace every now and then, but mostly I run or use vehicles
- Carrion Spat
- Brackaset
- Kaadu
- Physical appearance
- Combat strength as a regular pet (tie between em)
- Make more creatures mountable
- Give at least some mounts vehicle speed, at least when galloping
- Let at least some playershave the mount itself fight while riding it
- Let mounts gallop longer and recover from being winded faster
- Let at least some players use special attacks on mounts
- Seldom. Perhaps for a change of pace every now and then, but mostly I run or use vehicles
- Bol
- Carrion Spat
- Endurance. I'll take a hit inraw speed, as long as I can gallop most of the time
- Combat strength as a regular pet
- Give at least some mounts vehicle speed, at least when galloping
5. Please list the top five creatures you would like to see made mountable
I still like that post made months ago when we were wondering what would be made mountable. I can't remember who said it, but they said that they wanted to strap two Dwarf Nunas two his feet and use them as roller skates.
only 2?
What a friggin let down.
Well... WoW is coming out soon and there is a Hunter class that is sort of like CH.
* When fighting. I usually dismount and try to keep the pet out of the battle entirely.
(and I only have him out to gain [scraps of] CH XP)
2. Please re-order the following mounts in descending order of how often you use them (omit mounts you never use):
* Dewback (mountain)
* Kaadu
3. What's the single most important quality in a mount to you?
* Endurance. I'll take a hit in raw speed, as long as I can gallop most of the time
* Speed over short distances.
* Physical appearance
* Combat strength as a regular pet
4. Please rank the following design requests in descending order (most important first) of how much they would increase the desirability of mounts in your eyes:
* Deedable with /transfer at Management 4, this actually should apply to all creatures
* Let at least some players use special attacks on mounts
* Make more creatures mountable
* Let mounts gallop longer and recover from being winded faster
* Give at least some mounts vehicle speed, at least when galloping
* Let at least some players have the mount itself fight while riding it
5. Please list the top five creatures you would like to see made mountable
* Cupa - it's a Tauntaun, nuff said
* Peko-Peko - Give us a birds eye view of cities and surroundings
* Greater Sludge Panther, Or any big cat - This is science fiction, give us exotic
* Gualama - It's the closest to a horse
* Faamba, Or something really big (Rancor?) - LOTR3 style

These days the only time I use a mount is to get around in town, where a vehicle isn't feasible -- getting from the bank to the cantina, running from my workshop to my factory or my storage facility, etc. I can leave my mount sitting on my doorstep, and not have to worry about it decaying every 10 minutes, unlike a swoop bike.

- Falumpaset/Humbaba
- Brackaset
I never use any of the falumpaset/brackaset type of mounts. They're too slow. Carrion spats I don't use 'cause they're ugly.
Bols and dewbacks I rarely use 'cause they're too short. My brother rides a bol, but I prefer my kaadu. I'm a Bothan, the kaadu's fast, and it's tall enough that I can actually see over much of the terrain.
I use my dewback only when I need to gallop over a longer distance.

I never use my mount in combat. I rarely gallop, either. I use my mount as a means of getting from Point A to Point B. That's it.

Dare I say rancor?
I'd also like to see bantha, and some of the birds -- lantern bird, peko peko, etc. I don't know how much work is involved in a flying mount, though.
Also something big -- fambaa or torton.
6. (Optional) If you have any mount-related comments or feedback, please feel free to give that here.
I feel as though vehicles have ruined the mount market. It's rare I see anybody using a mount these days, except as a means of travelling over short distances. It'd be nice to see them given an advantage of some sort, to make them useful again. I don't have any suggestions, however.

Can't you just sell/trade mounts via secure trade? I do it all the time.
Or am I missing something (entirely possible)?
Ah. Thanks for clarifying that. I guess I had never encountered that particular aspect of the profession since I rarely trade creatures with others that are noteither a level 10 or are not still babies (for additional training).
1. I use my mount occasionally when fighting - I shoot from the back of the mount (it's an easy way to pick up a little bonus xp while travelling to a mission)
2. Kaadu & C spat
3. Speed without galloping
4. I'd like to be able to do special attacks from the back of my mount but what I really want is to be able to HEAL (if a TKA can kick something while sitting on a kaadu then why can't a doc stick a stim in someone?). Same thing for looting and harvesting (although you may be able to do those it seems like last time I tried I couldn't). I'm sure BEs would kill for the ability to be able to sample DNA from the back of a mount. The problem I'm seeing is basically, mounts provide a minor (but significant) advantage over vehicles to combat players only - it would be nice if every profession could have a similar advantage while on a mount (i.e. they could make use of their basic skills: healdamage, sampledna, harvest, MASKSCENT, etc). Also, I'd love the ability to add saddlebags (similar to storage compartments for droids).
5. banthas
1.
2.
Bol
Dewback
Kaduu
3.
Speed over short distances.
4.
Give at least some mounts vehicle speed, at least when galloping

5.
1. Rancor
(like some are saying nightsisters are supposed to mount rancors... so should CH's
)
2. Grauls
3. Kilink
4. Kimogilla
5. Something flying (those red vicious flying things on dathomir would be perfect
)
6. I think mounts should be *faster* then vechiles but only over a shorter distance. For instance to get to somewhere 500m away using a special type of mount should be faster. But say you have a long distance like 1km away. Then a vehicle should get you there faster. I really want a reason to use my mount and have it be more effiecent. That and I would like it if people would actually *WANT TO BUY* mounts. Let CH's make money off mounts again please!

Is that how it goes!?! I was wondering how mounts were viable at all if they were over level 10. so the ONLY way to make money in this profession is really only given to MASTER, that's crazy! even Novice Artisans, Novice Medics, Novice Scouts or whatever can make money of their profession from the word go, getting /transfer after suffering up to Management 4 is very reasonable.
