Forgot to mention, I dont remember seeing any "cage" or holster in this game, do you? As far as I know if you equip a weapon out of thin air it just appears in your hand, not out of a holster/sling. Why? ITS A GAME!

Next time you start comparing at least use facts that are in the game and not in RL. In real life my Rancor would eat you and maybe even me, but seeing my Rancor lasts about as long as a gnort ina PvP battlemaybe RL took a break when you weren't looking.

hehe.. ughhhh

Nice Job TH.. The only thing you accomplished is just more unrest in the the forums. I dont think the theory that the More Timesinks you put into the game the longer you will have a customer base.. Whats next, wait time of 29 days, to travel from planet to planet, in your future Space Expansion pack? Takes big coohnas though to speak the words you do to SoE's already growingly unhappy customer base. Granted My 15 bucks a month not muchin the scheme of things but when you joyfully Piss off the Many that 15 bucks SoE has riding on us goes up exponentially, now doesnt it.

Just about every time TH posts in the CH forums he refers to us as pok'emon. Since this is nothing but a flame towards us I think the board mods should ban him from posting in here.

As many of you may recall, you guys had a really big long thread on this in “Thunderheart

and why camps are required to call mounts" back on December 4th. (I know because I do keep

track of this stuff.)

It’s an important issue and it’s a really fundamental design issue. It’s not a small

issue. Some of the biggest exploits are pet calling and storing in strategic combat

situations (which is bad) and there are some other problems to consider, but you folks kept

at me. There were many positive, well thought out posts and that is always what sways me.

So what I did was go back to the source and sent Raph an email and we challenged each

other. After our email dialogue, Raph took some time, logged into the forums and read

through the thread. He reviewed the existing design and his exact words were, “yeah we

should probably remove the camp requirement because of the post-launch changes made to the

game”. I brought the issue to the team with compelling arguments and I stressed that this

is a very very important issue to the community and we are changing it for Publish 7 (that

isn’t this publish, but the next).

· A player will not be able to call a pet/mount/vehicle while incapacitated or

dead.

· A player will not be able to call a pet/mount/vehicle if they are at or exceed

their max level limit or number of type limit for that classification of follower.

· A player will not be able to call a pet/mount/vehicle while indoors.

A player will not be able to call a pet/mount/vehicle during combat or 60 seconds after

combat is concluded (For technical reasons, it has to be 60 seconds to prevent certain

kinds of grief).

So there you have it. You said you wanted it changed, it’s a change that’s good for the

game and its changed

(Expect this change to go in effect in Publish 7 which will be mid-to-late February)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'A player will not be able to call a pet/mount/vehicle while indoors.'

does this apply to creature pets and droids?... we have to step outside to call them now?... what if we don't live in a player city? we have to walk to the nearest player city or NPC city to call our creature/droid?

I don't think the delay is aimed at CH's at all, it's to stopclasses like commandos flaming people up and hopping on a swoop while the victim flames on.

To bad they didn't code the thing properly to begin with, everytime theres an exploit involving droids or vehicles, we'll cop the fallout as well....

I disagree. Ifthe 30sec delaywas put in for Vehicles why did TH specificly say it was put in to prevent surpise p-o-k-e attacks. I know you want to believe there are reasons behind the maddness, but the fact is they placed another nerf on CH because the devs dont know the facts. If TH would have come out and said "The 30 sec delay is to prevent vehicles from being used to grief now that you can have 3 vehicles", yes I would have bought that. He didn't, he just mentioned CH when he talked about the 30 sec delay.

Therefore the only conclusion that can be drawn is the devsstill think CH is too powerful in PvP?!?!?

Like all message boards, you have to be in from the start or they'll remove it if your post has too many good points. SOE sucks.

Correct. That was one and there were others. You could store pets right before they died and also do things like get into a duel with someone and then whip out a pet and other "suprise!" poke-pet maneuvers.

The other part of this equation is that camps have changed a lot since their original design as well - - that was why Holo thought it would be a good idea to lift the restrictions.

As part of the camp changes, we'll see these in Publish 7. I can't wait

yes, but do you realize that these griefs are no longer possible, even without camps?
there's no need for another timer in addition the storing timer.
  • pets don't store in combat (or 1 minute after combat).
  • pets can't be called in combat (not surprises for anyone once combat starts).
  • pets don't insta-heal in the datapad anymore.
  • etc

If there were any exploits still possible, you'd know it by now because we've always been able to call pets "at will" in the city.

so why do we need a delay timer to call them without a camp?

TH -

Something that is not clear to me with regard to these changes: Will players with Scout still be able to call pets and vehicles immediately while within a camp? That is, will the new calling restrictions and abilities be in addition to or in place of the existing methods and abilities?

My vote is for "in addition to," personally.

NO!

You cannot store pets right before they die! If they're in combat, you can't store themuntil 60 seconds AFTER they're out of combat.

TH, this is simply NOT TRUE.

The game mechanics as they exist RIGHT NOW do not allow this, camp calling restriction or no camp calling restriction.

If there is an exploit that some players have discovered to get around the existing restriction, then fix that exploit, don't punish everyone else!

Furthermore, when are you going to nerf the "novice artisans" who hit a macro and suddenly, in a duel, are transformed into fully armored TKMs? If the concern of the insta-poke is so great, why not the insta-karate-kid, or the insta-commando, or the insta-master carbineer?

TH, are you in the business of digging yourself into a deeper credibility hole? Do you have dreams of being Scott McClellan or something?

Then we'll stay on this 'dead horse' until they DO change it.

You do realize don't you that the only reason these changes are going through is because we refused to "get off the dead horse" ? Yeah, didn't think so.

Every one of TH's excuses has been shown to be invalid yet he still refuses to listen to us. He doesn't even reply to them.
