We're with you on this as well. Or I should say, anyone with a lick of sense is. There's a few folks in here (as there is in any class) who have no problem with using buff-bots and such, but they're few and far between. If there's anything we can do to help you more in getting rid of your AFK'ers and spammers other than not using them, please let us know.

AFK macroing is about the most retarded idea anyone could have ever allowed to occur to a game. I am totally against AFKers. I see them all the time outside Coronet, or spamming at the starports. It's pathetic. Yet another bone-headed developer decision...

I dont know if anyone reads this since mos people only scan the first 2 pages(I read them all no matter how long) well here is what annoys me.

Okay their was once somethign called continuity(Forive Speliing):

Wel that has long gone the way of the ancient jedi order...

*5 Jedi Run Past killing everyone with their guardian tags on*

Okay bad example the point in in the very begining we loosly followed the SW plot.

Well anyway this controling pets goes against coninuity I bet they though of this because of what Anakin did to the beast thing withthe nose ring, but he was just a padawan well I didn't see Obiwan the Jedi master controllign the Aklay. Or Luke who was technically high than Anakin in Jedi Rank couldn't control the Rancor.

My overall point is that if you have to leave this stupid skill in atleast make it affect the NON-agressive pets, and leave the AGRESSIVE pets liek rancors alone.

While your pets are your weapons they are also a high HAM wall between you and your opponent. A jedi doesn't need to take the condition of a rifle to 0 before he can begin to wack on the person weilding the rifle, and he also doesn't need to worry about the rifle continually attacking him if he incaps the person weilding it until it's condition gets to 0.

The CH profession is unlike any other combat profession in the game. And jedi need a way to defend against it.Honestly if your creatures stop listening to you I'd consider that a minor problem, abilities that could exist would be a return to data pad ability, attack master command, or release into wild command. So becareful what you ask for because you just might not like what you recieve.

Creature Handlers with no backup combat abilities should think twice before attacking jedi, just like any other non-hybrid combat profession in the game. The power to defeat jedi comes from combat templates such as TKA/Fencer/Doc, or those like Combat Medic/BH. Nosingle profession in the game stands much of a chance against Jedi except for perhaps combat medics onvarious buffs that can poison faster than jedi can heal. There are alternatives for those of you with no secondary combat abilities such as thefaction weapons like the AT-ST and Troopers.

The only time I see this being a real issue is if jedi just walk around town doing it to grief other players. But I doubt that they can simply do it on anyones pet at any time.

Actually you are totally wrong about this, first off jedi wont make you pet stop listening to you they will make it attack you

Again I don't see much of a problem with this. If it's something the CH is aware of then he should be expecting the possability this will happen. I'm sure the jedi ability doesn't just magacally work and has an oppertunity to fail. No CH should expect to defeat a jedi on their own, even the elite templates such as TKM/Fencer/Doc have some difficulty and often require backup from friends. If you send something as weak minded in to fight a jedi you should fully expect that it could effectively back fire on you.

To be honest if I were a jedi and was attacked by a CH, I would most likely use this ability to force the creature to attack it's master then I would walk away.

all the jedi has to do is attack the CH and bypass the creatures once he deathblows the CH the ept will just stop whatever they are doing then the Jedi can kill each creature at his descretion.

Apparently some things have changed since I worked on CH. However the basic "Kill the handler first and then the creature" thing still applies. That was always the strategy to defeat CH's in the old days. It's always easier said than done though. As I don't know much about how this works now I won't comment on it.

I do feel that this post is an over reaction to a jedi ability that "could" cause problems but hasn't yet. They've had this ability for a very long time, I remember seeingthe command name way before anyone unlocked jedi sowhy has it become such an issue right now? Just because you can physically see how many people unlocked their slots?

The problem with it is the singling out of a class to negate. No other class can be not only disarmed but actually have their weapon used against them. We can't switch weapons during combat so our entire ability to fight is gone. Not only that but we might even have to kill the very animal we trained and raised. As others have said if this was a rifle or vibro-knuckler the devs would never have considered the ability at all.

Then again since the devs have turned every non-jedi overt into an NPC for the jedi I don't think things will stay as they are for long. People don't pay solely to be someone else's entertainment.

I apologize if I am wrong, but did you join the game in November?

If so, then that is why you see CH as only support, cause you arrived AFTER we were nerfed into oblivion and lost ALL true combat abilities.

Upon Launch if a oparty did NOT have a high CH in the group, they were dead.

Chs ruled this game for the first 3 months and WERE the combat profession of choice of everyone.

EVERY combat profession was a novice Ch for SOME sort of pet.

So yes, CH WAS A Combat Profession of great power back in the day and MANY of us want to see that happen again.

Yup, true, I joined in November. And I heard about the big nerf

But hey, would you like to come back to the old days?

From what I have read, CH was really overpowered, everyone was CH.

So, I was happy when they nerfed it, I don't want to be like everyone else, I don't want everyone to take the same profession.

The majority wanna rox and be the best, I don't care about this.

I don't like PvP because I don't wanna be in competition with someone. I prefer fighting with someone, not against someone.

Perhaps this point of view explains my approach. Generally, I have nothing against PvP but people playing PvP (or those I have seen)are mainly selfish, arrogant and they wanna rox.

Competition is good if the people involved is mature (nothing to do with age, I know of a 16 year old kid more mature than me ). What I have seen in several games about people PvP-ing is awful: me rox, you noob, you don't know to play, I am the best. Well, good luck in RL.

Like you say, upon launch there had to be a CH in the group. This is not correct.

We should not HAVE TO play with a particular profession.

You are all talking about balance. Well, do you agree that CH was unbalanced before the big nerf?

Ok, now it is unbalanced too

But I prefer it that way.

I guess you will understand my point of view a little bit better now that I said why I don't like PvP.

But this is out of scope

I understand your point of view, I was just trying to explain that Ch was NOT a support profession as many want to say it is.

It started out as a full fledged COMBAT profession just like TKA or Rifleman.

Right, Im master CH, been it for a long time, will be till the day I quit.

Yes, it sounds real bad that they can do this, but bear with me here.

Firstly, ALL jedi guardian in the previous system had this skill. How many of you have had it used against you?

I havent. Not ever.

Secondly, the three skills are part of the 'force powers' line. They get animal scare at novive force wielder, that makes a creature run away and break aggro. The one at Master Force wielder is what everyone is scared of, but I beleive it doesnt turn the pet against us. It turns it ROGUE. For about 30 secs, it is then uncontrollable and may attack anything it finds, including us.

However, Force wielder is one skill tree out of 5 the Jedi now have to pick from. They only have, at master, enough skill points for 2 and a half trees.

Because of the way defences and necessary Jedi skills are placed, Very, very few will have access to the master command, as templates need to be built around player vs player duelling, the only way they can advance through the FRS.

This , of course, doesnt excuse the fact that we could be attacked by our own weapons, but the chances of it actually happening to any of is is slim to nothing, so , please people, it isnt quite as bad as you think.

I would also like to say, Im not a Jedi, but I participate regularly on test center, and had the chance to test Jedi out on the TC2 server.

My opinion on this is based on seeing the trees for myself, helping live seerver jedi with templates and hours of experimenting.

It seems bad, and we need something such as the resists Jester has suggested, but it will not be as bad as initial impressions would suggest.

My biggest concern isnt this at all, it is :-

Bull Rancor missions - over 300, no baby

Mantigrue Screecher Missions- 130+ , no baby.

This is not a battle we as MCH can win. I have been an MCH since before nerf and I still enjoy it for PVE, but SWG will not protect us at the expense of their development of more StarWarsy content, like speeders, spaceships and building the GCW. The Dev's had a difficult time looking for enough content to put into the Jedi trees, something a little more than "Tree 1 fight harder, tree2 fight faster, etc. This is not creative enough to sustain the profession seen as the ultimate goal for MANY (not all, not me, btw) SWG players. This game was a total joke "back in the day" when MCH ruled and no one even knew how to unlock FS slots. Look at it from the outside, this game looked alot more like Beastmaster with guns than Star Wars.

So, now our pets can be controled if we duel the wrong Jedi and our PVP chances against them are nill, it shouldn't mess with your character too much, unless you are some kind of MCH/MBH template counting on your pet to be your edge in killing Jedi.

For me, I will keep taking the largest rbel missions I can get with my lvl 65 soloing pets or go collect Avian meat on Dathomere with my pair of Maulers, or make a nuissance of myself galloping around the starports on Seabiscuit, my Male Brack mount, or whatever, until I get tired of it.
