IssKo was kind enough to post this on the Jedi forums:

Hi,

Before I dropped CH completely, I had an experiance that may confirm your fears.

I was sitting in a starport waiting.....

I got out my Fambaa for fun... they are loud doing pet trick 2. I was also a victim of a muon downer after finishing some hunting.

So here I am, minding my own business, when an Imp Jedi enters the staging area and asks if he can try something on my pet.

I'm thinking hmm, sure, I havn't seen many jedi tricks, so while sitting, unbuffed, muon downer, unarmored, unarmed, I agree to 'duel' him only to have my pet attack him... Fambaa lol.

Well, he does his 'pet' trick and low and behold, I am now running for my life with what little mind I still have, doing the starport 500. This continues for an uncomfortable amount of time.

Anyways the trick wears off, the jedi then incaps my pet, and I'm not too happy. He thinks it's funny.. I'll never trust another jedi I don't know.

Moral of the story.. I don't hate jedi, just this player, yes... they can affect your pet.

P.S. it sounds funny now, but it sucked at the time

Well lets see . . . a Dev post saying "We thought you should be aware that we decided to make you the only class where a Jedi can not only disarm you but turn your weapon against you" would have been pretty f'in nice.

Gee, after 9 months of NO RED NAME what so ever on the Ch boards, you really think they would drop us a note to tell us they are screwing us over the final 5% of fun we have left in this profession?

I mentioned this to my TKM best friend, the one who hates any of my pets bigger thana Kusak. Err she laughed her head off at the thought of me being torn to bits by my own pets I must admit I burst into hysterical laughter too, emphasis on the hysteria bit.

did you ever think a CH would be able to fight AND defeat a Jedi?

I don't see the big issue here... I have no problem with the fact that a Jedi can control the mind of my pets... pets are not smart.. so..

Shall we rant for every single thing that annoys anyone of us? phew....

edit: I am quite sure I will be the only one with this opinion... please don't flame, no need, I have no impact at all on this change

but really, people speaking about balance... do you think a Master Musician has the same power as a Master Fencer?

I mean, there are a lot of different professions, some professions not being as strong as others.

In my opinion, CH is not a combat profession like someone stated, I see it as a support profession.

Do me a favor and look in your game's instruction book, and see what class Creature Handler is listed as. Look at your pets commands and tell me what they are. Tell me how you gain XP. Now tell me how we're NOT a combat class.

lol sorry but.. the game's instruction book?

this one is completely outdated

since the beginning, there must be about 20% of the information in this book that is not right

I don't say it is not at all a combat class, but I do not see it the same kind of combat class as fencer, sword, rifle, and such...

I mostly gained my XP by taming and training

My pets commands, they have4 to attack and the rest is for other stuff nothing to do with attacking (from 14 commands, 4 to attack)

What I want to say is that there is definitely a difference between CH and a pure combat profession like TKA (yes, once again this example) or Pistoleer (even if this one is kinda broken...).

I will not try to convince anyone.

I am just completely at the end, fed up with all these complaints, whinings and such that we see all day long from people who, if I were at their place, should not be posting here anymore because they should have left the game.

And I definitely think this is just a MINOR issue, we have other priorities and I would not be happy to see the Devs "fixing" this one but not the other ones.

You may see it that way cause of your register date,.

I apologize if I am wrong, but did you join the game in November?

If so, then that is why you see CH as only support, cause you arrived AFTER we were nerfed into oblivion and lost ALL true combat abilities.

Upon Launch if a oparty did NOT have a high CH in the group, they were dead.

Chs ruled this game for the first 3 months and WERE the combat profession of choice of everyone.

EVERY combat profession was a novice Ch for SOME sort of pet.

So yes, CH WAS A Combat Profession of great power back in the day and MANY of us want to see that happen again.

*cough* Well, probably not to the extent that it was, when a noviceCH was pulling out three rancors at a time.

But newcomers to the game do not realize that CH is only a support profession now because we got "combat reballanced" to the UPCOMING combat reballance over eight months ago. You have no idea, seriously, what the CH profession was intended to be. We do. We played it. CH wasn't too strong, CH/melee/marksman combos were too strong. We're the ones who took the heat for it.

Eventually we WILL be a force again in our own right without mixing from other classes, and we have every right to fight to keep our profession safe for that day.

I have never had that happen. Well I had it happen with a pet that was vitality blitzed but only then. My pets use their specials like they are going out of style but that is because I have a very effective macro for that. I have never had them pop to my data pad, stopfighting, or otherwise ignore me. I have had more problems with my vehicles that my pets and dont get me started on that. Most of the issues I have found with CH that I have found that I can not get around by the test and fail procedure I make up for by using my combat profession. If I have a weakness that I can not shore up. I cut bait and run or avoid those situations. *Shrug*

Ya know, I've been playing this game sense just after release and I have got to say one thing. You claiming to never having been hit by the auto store, or your pets not listening to you except when they are vitality blitzed is one of the biggest BS stories I've heard in a while. Talk to any CH, novice or master and everyone has been hit with these bugs. The only reasons I see to this happening to you are..

1) You just got into CH and haven't had the time to get hit with it yet, so you are trying to talk about stuff that you know nothing about so you will look "cool" and "knowledgable" so the rest of us will accept you...or...

2) You are just BSing us so you can make it seem that you are special cause you don't have problems and we are just making these issue up so we can "whine."

Either way, it don't matter. It's just apparent that you ain't aware to what the real issues are with CH, so before you start talking like you are "special" and that the problems don't exist, do your home work and read previous thread, then pretend to be a CH and catch up with the rest of us boy-o.

Maybe we should band together with Docs and Entertaiers. They dont see a Redname too,

and they have to fight crappy buffbots destroying their prof too.

Well, I'm a Master Musician, and I'm with you guys on this one.

It is completely inexcusable for the Development team to put a command in the game that allows a player's weapons to be taken from them and used against them. What's the point in that? It's a disgrace. It makes this travesty of a game even more pathetic.

At least you guys aren't stuck in a small building with 60 other players spamming "tips and heals are appreciated!" (as if no one knows that already). Then there's always the lovely, "Invite me if I'm not in a group!" This basically says "I'm not around at all, help me gain more xp in your profession while I mock it!" We've been reduced to NPC's. And as is said above, just like you guys, the Devs give a womp rat's ass about us and our professions.

I'd like to ask of anyone who cares to help our cause against AFK entertainers, please don't patronize them. Send them a /tell that says they need to wake up and PLAY th game. Send them a 1 credit bank tip everytime their stupid "tips and heals" and "invite me to a group" messages pop up - fill their inbox with 100's of emails.

I'm now telling everyone I know NOT to play this game at this point, the Developers implement their own hair-brained schemes for "helping" players by destroying the fun and usefulness of their professions. They don't respond to a damn thing that's brought to their attention regarding serious problems with the game, instead they add MORE junk that breaks MORE junk and even breaks junk that wasn't broken before.

I also tell them not to waste their money on Jump to Lightspeed, it'll be helplessly broken for years before it's any fun. And the game will probably be dead before then. They then promptly thank me for my advice and wisely stay far, far away from Star Wars Galaxies. This game, in my opinion, is still in Beta - and needs to have all the Devs replaced with people who care about the game's community, not the fractional part of it who are uber-l337 players who did a grind through every broken profession.

This "Dev" team of ours seems intent on making more and more professions useless. I do not understand this. If the game isn't fun to play, then why will people keep playing it. As evidenced by the lastest game population numbers, they're NOT continuing to play. Too bad, this game could be great.
