New Mounts: Banthas and Cu-Pa’s!

Beta deprived me of my sand-envy for good though... 3 weeks of staying on sand kind of kills it for you... go figure
As for the 30 second delay, well, it seems logical. That way you won't be able to flee right away when you see a BH coming for you, or when another overt comes for you, etc... Wich means the devs want the vehicles to act as fast rides for transport, not as backup escape plans...
Ugghhh, you can have your freaken mount or vehicle out already before, off in the distance if you want. This 30 second thing is a **edit**ing Joke

A Dev team out of touch with the needs of its customers. I see a little tongue-in-cheek in Vert's posting too.
I shouldn't be responding to this. But I have no idea what that means. I said "Here's information" and then posted the information? How can anyone possibly be reading devious intent into that? I didn't even say anything.
I regularly remind the Devs how the community feels about the unwarranted 30 second delay. I did so again tonight. I plan to continue doing so for the foreseeable future, or until this gets changed or better justified.
Vert, would really hate to be in your position. Though I think we all realize you are posting what is given to you, you being our corresponent are going to take the flack for espeicially this issue. I appreciate your effort in removing this Delay and I personally believe you do dissagree with the push towards letting that go live. I think it is time though that you take this up higher. This granted does not JUST affect the CH popluation but the entire population. It effects us the most. I do not see how the DEV's can blatantly cause turmoil in an already angry customer base, especially with something that would OBVIOUSLY throw some water on a notebly raging fire. To keep pushing the customer base this way is not very good for business. You need to remember one thing and you may want to remind your Devs. An unhappy customer is not just $15 a month if you lose them. We are not only your current customer base but your potential new customer referrals. Which cuts both ways, if you tick the community off and one person leaves, and that person discourages 2 of their friends not to buy the game, and they tell more of their friends. . . I think you see where I am going with that. Same goes the other way. I am playing because my friend told me this was a pisser game, and when I started I agreed and told many of my other friends . . . So 1 account turned into 10 accounts + for you, not including the friends friends...
This simple and petty 30Second timer thing may be the straw that breaks Many Camels backs. It is obvious that the Community (minus the Trolls who dont really care or dont realize it will affect them) do not want this. There wasa bug a while back that if you logged while in a camp, when you logged back on you could call from anywhere accept your declared planet. We ALL know there is NO griefing ability without the timer, we ALL know that 99.9% of PvP are done in Towns and areas that you dont Need Camps ANYway to call. and Of course there is the Fact that Pets are Useless in PvP aside from scaring off Noobs. If you are a master of Any combat profession, 3 shots and the pets are dead if that, including the CH. Strafe II at rifleman I can do 5k dam per MOB, so even if the CH has a CL70 pet with 13k, he is gone, 3 cl23 pets, they all take the 5k dam they are gone in 2 shots, of course this is while I wear my Explorer tag above my head. Note that I didnt call my pets to counter the other CH pets... They dont last long enough and I dont want to waiste Vit points.. So CH are not PvPable so we would not be the Griefers anyway.
Hopefully you can get the DEVs to see this point before they push something this rediculous. And something that is Obviously something that makes the Customers unhappy.
personally i dont mind a 30-sec timer if i dont have to lug friggen tents around. i would prefer a 15 second timer or no timer. but i know why there is a timer and i wont puch for that. i am looking forward to this since i can now use vehicles and mounts as needed without having to cart crates of tents around.
DeneziB wrote:Players never had the ability to call a pet anywhere, anytime. A camp was always required, which still required time in itself to craft.
Thank you Trolling N00B.
You have just shown you have no idea what you are talking about.
The camp requirement was added in publish 3 or 4 if you read these boards instead of trolling you would see the statmenta that we wanted BACK the ability to call pets anywhere.

the reason for a 30second timer in the wild is that you cant pull a vehicle and just scoot off. if you want your vehicle out and ready that is a different story and you are stuck to that general area. being able to just whip a vehicle out at will would diminish the game.

That is silly Barb.... You cant just Call a vehicle and pop off. You have to call it mount it and ride off... Now you hit the Camp on your Macro Bar, and do the same thing, or Keep your Vehicle out like most of us do, at a distance. There is NO reason for the 30 second delay other than a Time Sink, and a slap in the face for asking them to remove a restriction. Plain and simple.
and anyway who but a noob would do that anyway, and if so why is that or would that deminish the game. You know as well as I, that before they could hop on their vehicle we could shoot them dead and disable their speeder. If they are running away from NPC's ... who cares do you? I can tell you one thing Honestly even if I was fighting someone and they popped a vehicle out and swooped away... Does nothing to diminish my game.. Also nothing would stop me either at that point from doing the same calling my Narglatch and vehicle and Chasing him while I keep sending my cat to attack him, since he cant attack back...
It is Silly that you have given into their "Reason" for adding it.

I also did not ask for the removal of the 30 second timer, in fact I am favor of it, as I stated, with one exception: I asked for it to be removed IF and ONLY IF the person is in a camp or city. As in, if I am in a location that CURRENTLY (i.e. RIGHT NOW, post-Publish 6 pre-Publish 7) allows me to call a pet/vehicle/droid/etc. with NO delay, that the same situation be true post-Publish 7. Spelling it out:
That is a good point. The Publish list does not differentiate between city calling and wilderness calling. The line quoted is:
· There is a 30 second delay after you call for a vehicle/mount/pet/droid before it will generate.
There is an implication that this applies only to rural areas, but it does not flat-out say it. There should be some clarification made here.
I see no problem if the 30-second timer applies only to wilderness areas. I would have to agree with most of the detractors here if the 30-second timer applied to towns and camps, as well.
Vert, can you confirm with TH whether the 30-second timer is supposed to apply only to wilderness? I think that may quell some of the concerns.
Oh, and banthas! Finally! I've been waiting for months to ride my lovely, lovely banthas!

The banthas and cupas (to include the wastland variety, I hope?) are of course welcome, but the 30 second delay makes absolutely no sense at all, and I'm perfectly serious.
I'll cancel my account over this. It is, quite frankly, the final straw.
Wow, you make it sound like the 30-second delay is the end of the world.
The 30-second delay will not bother me. If Tuskens surprise me, I'll fling my Arachne Webmaster at it and take up a defensive position.
How can I do that? Because the Webmaster will already be out.
Why is this 30-second rule in place? So that you can't whip it out without warning. If you already have the animal ready, the 30-second rule will not affect you.
How do we hunt with our pets now? I don't know about you, but here's my routine:
I call pets in town.
I leave town.
I hunt.
My pet gets hung up at the boundary and is 300 m away when I notice.
I store the pet (disregard this step if the pet vanishes, natch).
I set up a camp.
I create a new camp.
I call pet.
I leave camp and go hunting.
What will I do with the 30-second rule?
I call pets in town.
I leave town.
I hunt.
My pet gets hung up at the boundary and is 300 m away when I notice.
I store the pet (disregard this step if the pet vanishes, natch).
I call pet.
I go hunting.
Perhaps you can post your schedule and help me see where this 30-second delay is a serious hampering of your gameplay.
But it's been a while since I've seen "Oh, boo hoo, I'm canceling my account!" So thanks for the laugh.

Kuildeous you bring out some valid points, and most intellegent people know that the time it takes to craft a basic camp kit, deploy it, and pull out your pet can be the same if not more time required to pull out/w out new limits. I am not really mad about CH over this camp issue, I am not going to cancel my account over a dumb issue like this however, Siobable also makes a good point. Why? Other professions (combat) mainly do NOT have requirements to pull out big uber weapons. There is no 30 second combat limit to swap between a flamethrower and a heavy weapon. No time limit toswap between a tusken rifle and a DX2 for close quarters. If CH has to wait 30 seconds to pull out THEIR weapon... why doesn't everyone else? Because the devs for one a) dont care, b) are too busy trying to fix everything they broke(GCW + many others) or c)this is all some mad conspiracy and preplanned for droid invasion... I would say the best logical conclusion to come to would be B).. from my perspective, there is simply NOT enough devs to fix all the problem this game has. They are drowning in work, or perhaps their owninability to want to work... which lends reason as to why range attack comand and use special attack, two features PROMISED as the "sugar" on the December revamp is still bugged and still broken almost 4 months later! Two features, small and yet so important to us, ignored, and givin a "It might make it into the publish if wehave time" statement. I have seen this garbage rehashed response for every complaint in this game and other SONY games. I dont mean to be selfish.. there are professions ALOT worse of than CH... carbineer and DE, just to name a few. Ok so we got a cu pa, now we can ride around on harry dinosaurs that are all named Yoshi and call it super mario galaxy. We got a bantha, great we can ride an animal ment fora feature no body uses. Devs, if your reading this post, than read this:
FIX THE BROKEN STUFF BEFORE YOU ADD NEW STUFF (mounts, player cities, space expansion, jedi whatever) THIS GAME WOULD BE A MUCH MORE FUN ONE IF YOU HAD KEPT THE BETA GOING ANOTHER MONTH AND FIXED EVERY PROFESSION AND BALANCED THE CORE BASICS OF THE GAME (GCW, PVE ect) BEFORE YOU MADE PLAYER CITIES MOUNTS AND VEHICLES.... I am very sure after all your hard work you must have realised its hard to balance anything when you add new content to an unfinished game....
Thats my take on it anyhow... I hope that drove a point home intothat brain of yours, the one youuse for THINKING ![]()

It took 3 weeks for TH to give the first Vague answer to it. You will have to wait to see
