I'm really sorry this made it to Live. We're working on a fix and we'll get it to you as soon as we can.

I do appreciate this message. But I cant say I understand it entirely.

If it was a last minute bug fix (for this issue or another). Why wasnt there left enough time to test it to be sure it worked correctly?

If you get a flat and need to plug a hole in the tire. You still wait to see that it was not leaking air....you dont just get on and start to ride hoping that it holds up. Do you?

Sorry Jfreeman. It is just a very very frustrating time for me. My profession in this game for 2 years has been Creature Handler. I have run out of things to do with the game but I was still planning on hanging in there for the game...for my ability to live in a starwars world. But this sort of thing really left a bad taste in my mouth. It makes it very hard to continue to defend the game when a clear lack of two way communication is obviously present. Stuff like this should never make it to a live server. Time and time again these types of things are reported in bug reports or on the boards in the proper threads yet they still enter the game.

I may be back one day...but for now this issue (along with others over time) has forced me to cancel my account to try something else.

Maybe when things get better with two way communication I will return.

The SOE Development Office....From a creature handlers perspective...

Start with a cage containing five monkeys. Inside the cage, hang a banana over a set of stairs. Before long, a monkey will go to the stairs and climb towards the banana. As soon as he touches the stairs, spray all of the other monkeys with cold water.

After while, another monkey makes an attempt with the same result – the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon, when any monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it.

Now, put away the cold water. Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and wants to climb the stairs. To his surprise, all of the other monkeys attack him. After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs, he’ll be assaulted.

Next, remove another of the original five monkeys and replace it with a new one. The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment with enthusiasm! Likewise, replace a third original monkey with a new one, then a fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he is attacked.

Most of the monkeys that are beating him have no idea why they weren’t permitted to climb the stairs or why they’re participating in the beating of the newest monkey.

After replacing all the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, no monkey ever again approaches the stairs to try for the banana. Why not? Because as far as they know, that's the way it's always been done around here.

So why push a patch with a horrible game breaking bug live?

Cause "that's the way it's always been done around here"

Hello All,

Really i'm suprised this was let through, but not shocked lol. It also follows suit with popular trends. Really can you think of any profession more nerfed then us for so long, really can you ? lol i've said it once , i've said it twice were the Read haired step child of SWG, They nerfed us to respect us to the CU 1 1/2 years before it came out, the best thing about the CU was that other professions finally got nerfed to whatwere nerfed to, but when CU came live we didn't get evened out we got neref more just for good measure, and because the Devs scale is broken.. they don't judge us by just us alone , they judge our ability with pets by what are pets can do with say a pistol..i know what i can do with a pistol, what they apprently cann't get is what we cann't do with pets before this..they should balance us for say things like PvP with pets only, no other weapons at all, then they can say were overpowered if they do that.. they do check a pistoleers balance with a pet or two called out , why check us with a pistol (or what ever weapon they use) jedi cry about how there getting nerfed, i laugh lol tell them to stand in line we were here first for the line for gripes, we are the most loyal profession in this game, we have to be, no other profession would take this kind of abuse and press on like we do, yet they time after time apss us over as second rate citizens of the SWG.. i do have to admit i was shocked to see a name in red on this thread, wow . I agree pet specials and resists need to be fixed the next time they so much as do a server maintance..this has gone on way long enough , and will not be happy til that includes all DOTs including plague strike and poison spray, make sure NOT to forget those. While i'm at it, i ask that you please give me back my gaping spider recluse, it was a tamable lvl 44 early post CU, now it is an elitelvl 76 non tamable, please at least give it back as a elite lvl 70. I am happy that you responded so quickly that is a good sign, and a start, but lets not leave it at only a small start, lets accually follow through with what you guys say..wasn't specials supposed to be back publish 18 or if not then no later then publish 19 ? per your own words? (to those not sure about this please reffrence the site SWGCreatures.com) also while here i ask that when you get around to balancing us for PvP please consider adding a CH skill called Heal Pet ( would heal health of all pets under CH , controland the CH alsoto power of stim pack Ds at least, this should not affect other players grouped or ungrouped. ) Also an idea to help the CH in battle with pets because like someone mentioned to me the opponet might realize the healed pets and target us, maybe also give us SL like abilites but affacting pets and there owner. Like a mod that buffs the handler and petsmodified by the max lvl pet(s) called out and by number of pets called. I hope the ideas help, and glad to get this off my chest. Take care we will get through this .

Hey folks,

As you are all aware, the bug that was reported about pets (including all wild pets, faction pets, droids and some BE pets) being treated as level 1(0) and having 10 health unfortunately has gone Live.

Of course, this makes Creature Handler currently unplayable, even moreso than with the crippling bugs we've suffered from in the past.

The dev team has acknowledged the bug exists, it is not being ignored even though it did not get fixed. As you know, several different teams do work on several different areas each publish, and somehow despite the multiple reports from myself and many others, this bug was never fixed before reaching Live servers, either because of miscommunication or just plain oversight, I don't know.

I made a final plea last night to delay the publish to fix the problem, but once a publish is on deck it's pretty much impossible to stop it.

I'm hoping an immediate hotfix is forthcoming, but I have no official ETA on a fix or anything of that nature.

I encourage you to report the bug in the appropriate thread, and in the meantime if you have another character use it. Don't subject your pets to vitality loss just to prove a point, as some people have been doing.

I'm upset that this happened, and I wish I had the power to fix it but I don't. I'm taking a break from playing until the bug is fixed, as I really can't do much that I want to do without my pets right now. I'll let you know if I hear any further info, and I have requested that a "red name" stop by to talk to us, but I don't know if that will happen or is possible.

Thanks for sticking out the profession, and I'm really sorry about this.

My only character I've been able to enjoy lately is my Scout/BE/CH.....who's now useless.

I don't want your excuses JFreeman what I want is the bugs fixed, all of them. This as my last character that had any worth after the changes/bugs you introduced in Publish 17 and Publish 18 virtually killed my chef and tailor such that neither of them are enjoyable. I don't like the combat aspect that much of this game, but I had finally begun to have fun with my CH doing Jabba's themepark, since my CH has no combat other than CH this toon is now basically worthless, but then I know you don't really care cause you already got my money and with your no refund policy I can't get it back.

Stop releasing bugged crap. There is no excuse for releasing patches that break more than they fix. Take time to properly map your code. Stop having multiple teams working on different code for the same publish, that's what's causing all the bugs. Dedicated 100% of your resources to fixing what's wrong, noone will care if there is no new content for 2 months if we get the serious game bugs fixed. As of right now Armorsmith, BioEngineer, Tailor, Chef, Doctor, Squad Leader, Commando, Creature Handler, Droid Engineer, Entertainer, Dancer, Musicianare all practically unplayable. Add to that the fact you've killed any chance to RP during Empire Day because of the lack of the ability to purchase or pick up faction armors, and pretty much your changes are worthless in Publish 19........

Well this sucks! I was looking forward to my time off this weekend and spending some of it in game finishing several Kashyyyk quests etc. with my pets. Guess that plan goes bye bye now!

I am getting more and more frustrated and disgusted with the DEV's as time goes by. I am thouroughly convinced that they are totally inept and could give a rat's ass about their customers.

This bug and how soon they fix it (IF they fix it) will determine how much longer I play this game. I'll probably stick around until Middle Earth on-line comes out. If that game shows promise I may pitch SWG out the window and tell SOE they can kiss my ass aand my money goodbye!

This is totally unacceptable B.S. from SOE and the DEV's. I totally agree that someone should lose their job over it.

I'm not gonna blame the DEVs for this fiasco ... it's management that decided to go ahead with the publish even tho' they knew about the bug and knew what a crippling affect it would have. Someone should be called on the carpet for this but it's not the developers. Management set a date for the publish and forced it out on that date. This is why just about every player has come to dread publishes rather thanlook forward tothem! Sony management has yet to learn the number one rule for fantastic customer satisfaction-"Under promise, over deliver". Do that and your customers will ALWAYS besatisfied. Sonyalways does just the opposite - they "Over promise andunder deliver"!

Ok, after viewing my pets, all of the non-BE ones are CL 1(0).

I went to examine wild creatures and make a comparison.

Their CL, upon examination, is 0, they have no damage nor a to-hit bonus, and yet the intended amount of HP. Perhaps the wild spawns and lair spawns have the intended stats, but do not show them, and the pets do reflect the "new" stats in their activities.

I am grateful that both of my MCHs are on the same account.

This will make it very easy to hit the cancel button if this 'mistake' doesn't get fixed in a reasonable amount of time.

I am grateful that I no longer have to xp with either of those characters. I would be absolutely livid instead of merely furious.

However, I cannot do missions with either one of them. Half my 80th level is bound up in my pets, so, forget pulling missions from the terminals and having *any* chance of succeeding with them.

It's pathetic that this bug made it to Live. They should have tested their hotfix on TC to be certain that is would work on this specific bug, and not relied on the fact that the old fix worked on a previous bug. That's why they have a Test Server. Very, very sloppy.

The question that should be asked of EVERYONE ONE INVOLVED WITH THE PROCESS before any publish goes live is "Is everything working correctly?" If the answer is anything but "Yes", announce that the publish is delayed while problems are being fixed.

Heres an idea, instead of giving us publishes every 2 to 3 weeks, why not every 4 to 6 weeks? This way Quality control can have more time to fix the problems. It seems every publish is now looked at "what will they break this time" instead of expecting new features and bug fixes.
