I'm not gonna blame the DEVs for this fiasco ... it's management that decided to go ahead with the publish even tho' they knew about the bug and knew what a crippling affect it would have. Someone should be called on the carpet for this but it's not the developers. Management set a date for the publish and forced it out on that date. This is why just about every player has come to dread publishes rather thanlook forward tothem! Sony management has yet to learn the number one rule for fantastic customer satisfaction-"Under promise, over deliver". Do that and your customers will ALWAYS besatisfied. Sonyalways does just the opposite - they "Over promise andunder deliver"!

Well, someone in the development team should have made a huge stink that the patch was not ready.

But the main problem here is with management. It is painfully obvious that there is no viablequality assurance at SWG when a fiasco of this magnitude occurs, and it is not the first time, as others have related. These things keep happening, and they are ALLOWED to happen. Someone higher up the chain of command is not doing their job, and something needs to be done about this.

This is incompetence at the middle management leveland tolerance of incompetence in the executive suite.

You know, I don't usually complain because most times it don't help, but this............ this takes the cake! This bug that was talked about in here over a week ago, still gets pushed to live. Never mind the fact that they had a week or more to fix it! Instead they wait until just the moment before going live and then try to fix it!

When I first heard this I remember thinking, no way, there is no way SOE would let something this game breaking go live. Wow, was I wrong. This is about as incompetent and unprofessional as a company can get. ANY respect and hope I had in this company has just been lost.

Maybe if we start calling ourselves 'Jedi Creature Handlers' we'll begin to get a little freaking notice around here. This is totally unacceptable!

I will be quite shocked and my faith partially restored if this gets fixed before this weekend. But I'm not gonna hold my breath because we all know how hard they all worked on this recent publish, they will after all need a break with the coming long weekend.

Edit: My apologies for not acknowledging Ko-aIri and all his hard work as our Corr. Many thanks to you Ko-aIri. You tried your best with what you have, that's all anyone can ask!!! You da Man!

OK i am usually a very, very calm person, I have ridden the bumps of SWG for a long time, have stuck with it (yes I did take an extended break)...BUT.....i just got into game to see the damage done...and wow. Am just floored...my character is severily handicapped now. MCH is half my combat, I am now extraordinarily gimped...in combat. I am just floored that this bug was released. I am not gonna place blame at any one single entity except for SWG itself...this "fix" should have been removed before going live. And here i thought i was gonna try to grind some xpsto bank them for when i wanted to convert em to FS. Well, that plan is now out the window.

I am simply amazed that this went live.

To the dev who posted...please get us a fix asap. I mean tomorrow, friday at the latest.

To our correspondent...thanks for tryin to get it delayed.

Ok we all know the word frustration is a understatement for what CH players are feeling right now and I’ll give SOE the benefit of the doubt that this was a “accident” which they thought they had fixed. But moving forward here, what happens when the problem is fix? Are all pets going to be level 1 and need time for growth again?! I don’t know about the majority of CH’s but I don’t own a single BE pet and as the game stands right now my CH professions is completely useless. If pets need time to grow again that is a huge down time for this class.

What do you say?

Hey folks,

As you are all aware, the bug that was reported about pets (including all wild pets, faction pets, droids and some BE pets) being treated as level 1(0) and having 10 health unfortunately has gone Live.

Of course, this makes Creature Handler currently unplayable, even moreso than with the crippling bugs we've suffered from in the past.

The dev team has acknowledged the bug exists, it is not being ignored even though it did not get fixed. As you know, several different teams do work on several different areas each publish, and somehow despite the multiple reports from myself and many others, this bug was never fixed before reaching Live servers, either because of miscommunication or just plain oversight, I don't know.

I made a final plea last night to delay the publish to fix the problem, but once a publish is on deck it's pretty much impossible to stop it.

I'm hoping an immediate hotfix is forthcoming, but I have no official ETA on a fix or anything of that nature.

I encourage you to report the bug in the appropriate thread, and in the meantime if you have another character use it. Don't subject your pets to vitality loss just to prove a point, as some people have been doing.

I'm upset that this happened, and I wish I had the power to fix it but I don't. I'm taking a break from playing until the bug is fixed, as I really can't do much that I want to do without my pets right now. I'll let you know if I hear any further info, and I have requested that a "red name" stop by to talk to us, but I don't know if that will happen or is possible.

Thanks for sticking out the profession, and I'm really sorry about this.

Thanks for the info, don't be sad tho it's a major game breaking issue and I bet it will be fixed asap

We had another last-minute-bugfix which so similar to this, that there was some confusion that led to our thinking that fixing that bug resolved this issue.

I don't mean to offer that as an excuse, I just want to explain what happened.

I'm really sorry this made it to Live. We're working on a fix and we'll get it to you as soon as we can.

Well JFreeman, I can say it's really nice of you to give some input on this issue.

As a player I'm really sad but asa customer I do understand you can make mistake, povided you do your best to fix it.

Just know this kind of communication, even if it does not make us happy, is the right move.

I reactivated my accounts about 2 weeks ago after about 2yrs off...I have to say, this is the most rediculous thing I've ever seen...I just now respec'd my char to master creature handler because that's what I started off wanting to be...now I log in today and all my creatures are lvl 1...wth? Now, a char I grinded out for a week straight on I can't do anything with...you know, it's stupidity like this that makes the decision between this and other online games very simple heh...

Are you telling me that no one on the team tried that??? That is a crock if they are saying they thought they had it fixed and no one even checked!!!

As far as I'm concerned, your appoligy is too little, too late. This should have never gone to the live servers. Your fix should have been tested first. This is an insult to the CH profession, and I hope a Dev gets fired over this.

Dear Sony:

I am a creature handler and am very upset about todays bug. I agree with many of the numerous people who have stated that there needs to be some sort of compensation given for this excrutiating and truthfully life altering 8 hours. I was forced to go outdoors for the first time in 6 weeks and now (being the very warm summer day that it is) I am now SUNBURNED!

I will be having my lawyer contact SOE due to the severe tenderness of my pale (formerly) white skin. I do not know that I can go another hour without seeing my favorite pet Slice Hound "Spot" friskily demolish other low level creatures, and further exposure to the suns NASTY rays may cause other negative side effects like muscle development, acne clearing, or worse... social development of any kind.

...

Seriously, not to take a stab at the socially impaired, but settle down. Its a BUG. Its a game. It happens. Nobody will lose their job. Nobody will be paying you for your lost time. Nobody will (hopefully) be giving your pet its vitality back that it lost when you 'lashed out' and got it killed 25 times in a row ins your rage.

... and since we are all just waiting for all the hillarious angry responses to my post here, flame on, kids... flame on.

thanks, Devs... my Master CH/Master Doc is now unplayable.

I just called my credit card company and instituted chargeback procedures against SOE for fraudulent chargeson my card, for this month's fees as they are not providing the services their agreement with the player base states.

you guys just can't get it right, can you??

I would like to apologize to all CH's out there. Pre CU I was Master Tailor / Master Dancer with a little brawler to stay alive.

Post CU, I decided that the dancing was not worth keeping for the 6 months it would take to have an entertainer revamp, so I went Master BE. Unfortunately, then they broke tailor BE tissues in patch 18

I still had some respec available, and I decided to switch around and become novice CH. Then they broke CH.

I still have my token respec. Anyone want to pick a profession for me to break next? I could respec to MBH/Smuggler...

i'm also wondering, are pets down so theycan be made stronger? since petsare CH weapons, are they going to hit faster and stronger now...i hope? and what about my BE pets, why are they being treated differerently?

for now this is pretty lousy - i'm CH/Ranger ... my weapons accuracy is misserable, what am i supposed to do it an NPC agros on me, curl into a ball and sic my level 12 BE pet i had since i was novice CH pet and the baby BE narglatch i got 2 days ago?

yeesh!! i want to tame a baby dev, send it over and over again into die fighting krayts or something.
