Thread: Vertexon's Guide to Creature Handling (v. 2.1)
Excellent Guide Mate Clear and concise just way we like.
A brieif summery of what i have to do is more meaningless boring repatative actions taming hundreds of animals with no use or purpose,Sony sure know how to make great games "dull"
They should be a bit more creative in there approach.
hey i really like this guide alot.... its very in formative... i am a wookie and i want to know whar a re the eaisest creatures to tame when your a novice
a goodway to gain ch xp and that is to find a master tera kasi player and if he is buffed he can totally slaughter all the monsters and as long as your pet gets an attack in you get the xperience
a tera kasi master can kill some high level stuff and if you use a low level pet like lvl 15 you can get between 700 and 1500 xp for every kill on dathomir

good guide , im sure it will help newer CH
It sure did...thx for the help there
great guide, after stumbling around for a few days not knowing what to do this has helped me a lot ![]()
only thing i will say, seems to me the only people complaining about the CH Skill are those who dont want to do it but are because a holo told them to.
so to all of those kind of people i say :
"Shut you mouth and stop complaining"
Splitting the XP between two attacking pets isn't dumb IMHO, and it's still worthwhile using as many pets to attack as you can.
The maths is simple - with two similar pets you do twice the pet damage per unit time, which means you kill the target twice as quickly, which means youreceive the same xpin less time. Granted, each pet grows at a slower rate, but YOU progress at a faster rate, and the COMBINED damage of the two pets increases proportionally too.
Once you've reached the dizzy heights of Master CH and no longer need the xp, then you're priority will presumably be to grow your pets as quicky as possible, in which case you then shift to using just one pet at a time.
As a newbie CH, I'm having difficulty finding out how to maximize the xp I get.
Does a lvl 5 vs lvl 5 pet gain me more xp than a lvl 20 vs lvl 20?
What about lvl 5 vs lvl 10 compared to lvl 10 vs lvl 20?
Two lvl 5s vs a lvl 10?
Hello, I am new to the CH experience, and really am enjoying my babies
I know SO little about CH that I am unsure what I need to ask about. I do have 1 question that you elluded to in ur 'how to' guide
You said you must manage ur datapad well, as you can only hold so many pets dependant upon ur lvl. What stat determines the number of pets allowed, and furthermore is that stat based on sheer number of pets....OR dependant upon pet 'levels'??? My question comes because when I get Master CH, I already have 3 BE pets I purchased. (the CL (what does CL stand for?) levels are 49, 54, 50) will all three of these pets be able to be in my datapad? (I really am lost when it comes to CH)
just thought of another question
I remember I used to see people calling two pets, and I assume that you still can once you get the ability to do so. SO, what is dependant upon being able to calling two pets (if ur MCH) Is it the combined level of the two pets you wish to call that is the result of whether or not you can call both or not? or what?
Thank you all for any info you can help me with, remember CH is foregin to me, so ellobration (sp) is MORE than welcome in ur answers as I can use ALL the info I can get.
To see how many pets you can store in your Datapad, in your Skillmods Window, look for "Stored Pets." (At Master the Maximum number of pets that can be stored in your Datapad is Currently 20)
To see what level of pets you can call and possibly tame, look in your Skillmods Window for "Max Level of Pets" (At Master, the limit is CL70. Currently there are no tamable Creatures in the Wild with a CL higher than 65 but BE pets can reach up to 70)
Added Note: Unless you are a Master Scout/ Ranger, you may wish to refer to http://www.swgcreatures.com/ for determiningthe CL and/orFerocity of certain Creatures.
To see whether you can tame a creature of a certain Ferocity and Aggressiveness within a given level, look in your Skillmods Window for "Taming of Wild / Viscious Creatures"
To see how many pets you can call at one time, look in your Skillmods Window for "Additional Pets" (At Master the Maximum number of pets you can call at one time is 3. The combined Creature Level ofmulitiple pets called cannot exceed your Maximum Level of pets. i.e.- At Master you can call two CL35 pets or 3 CL20 pets, or 2 CL25 pets and 1 CL20 pet, but could not call 3 CL50 pets, etc.)
I hope this helps clear a few things up.
Since the last few publishes, I can only say, much like many other Elite Professions, if you are interested in staying a Creature Handler, then I suggest going for Master. Otherwise, it's a waste of Skillpoints as Dabbling no longer benefits other Professions as it once did way back when.
