I am not inflaming them, I am simply stating that as things stand we are a non entity in the game.
If a swordsman can have a non ch pet with 60% kinetic and 10k HAM what the heck point is there in spending precious SP to become a CH, when our higher level pets do very little damage and are in all reality, little better than what a non ch can wield?
It has been a problem since January/December and nothing has been done about it.
I am simply saying end the nonsense. Take out these pets or make them unavailable.
I am also saying that in BE profession it is hard to fix this because the code is "secret" and the math is unknown.

I think the "inflaming" part is that in opening this discussion, it is rehashing the old BE versus CH arguments. I don't think you are necessarily doing it with malice, but it is a bit of an open wound for players on both sides and discussion is like pouring salt on the wound. It's like the recent CH discussions talking about nerfs, old "promises", etc. where regardless of our fountain of ideas to "make it better", there is a reality we need to face where the Devs just don't have unlimited resources to do everything (even if it is the "right thing").

As for "secret" code, formulas, and math, this is not uncommon in games such as this. Even profession has some "magic" behind the scenes, the crafting professions probably a little more than others, but that's what makes a game like this fun. If we knew how everything worked, it would be more of a simulation than an adventure.

I don't want to give off the wrong idea though, so I will repeat that I do think some tweaking needs to be done to these uber non-CH pets. It sounds, however, that this problem has been around for awhile, the Devs are aware, and it isn't on their short list at the moment. I just think we need to make it clear to Vert that the CH community continues to feel this is an issue so he keeps on pressing it with the Devs.

how does making non ch pets weaker really benifit ch? our pets and skills will stil be the same. why would any non ch want a pet unless they have the kind of stats you seem to have a problem with?. i trained a lot of these pets and almost everytime it was for someone that was a pure crafter. how can you object to a pure crafter having one of them.

if you really want to get rid of them , it migth very well be that the best way is to give everyone one and have them use the pets . sony migth get rid of them because they feel the servers cant handle it and causes too much lag

Uh..because it's wrong for a level 10 BE cat to be able to stand toe to toe with my CL 25 GSP.

Heres a couple examples for ya'll to mull over.

Can a NON-Medic use a stimpack?

Can a Non-Entertainer heal BF or mind wounds?

Can a non-artisan make even the most basic of clothing?

Can a Non-Weaponsmith make even a hammer?

Can a Non-BE modify any type of Bio-agent?

Can a Non-Rifleman Use a T21?

Can a Non-Jedi use a lightsaber?

The answer to all of those(unless I am wrong) is NO!. Why not? A stimpack is just a needle you stick in your arm,

BF? Simple just relax on the couch and it heals itself, Clothing? Who hasnt made a leather wallet in some scout camp or school program? Who hasnt made the simplest of knives or tools? Who cant pick up a weapon and shoot it? Who even in the Star Wars universe could not use a lightsaber? Everybody could, it was just a Jedi's PREFERRED weapon, not there only weapon.

So taking all this into account these simple things that anyone can do, BUT CANT IN THE GAME!. now take animal handling. A little more difficult than pulling the trigger on a gun, or sticking a needle through leather to make a wallet, or even activating a lightsaber. But EVERYONE can do it.

Thats not balance, thats called appease the whining masses. Well now all the whining masses are becoming Jedi. How long until every other person has a Jedi character? then what? have you seen a single creature in the game that has a lightsaber resist? I havent. I am sure they exist somewhere. BUT WAIT! That would actually be BALANCED! Cant have that, thats not what the masses want, they want scores of jedi on a PVP battelfield where all you see is lightsabers flashing.

Hope this makes my point, if not, well I will still play my CH. As far as jedi go? Silliest freaking idea star wars came up with. Why was it that Anakin was born again? oh yes, to balance the force, because Jedi had ran rampant for ages without being controled. So right there the game designers just overthrew the ENTIRE concept of the star wars universe.

Sorry if I offend anyone but that is the way of it.

Okay, sorry, my last response was pretty childish, mi cupla. Here's my reasoning on it. I had to spend roughly 76 skill points to get the ability to weild a CL 25 Greater Sludge Panther. Who's stats are as follows.

35% Kenetic; 45% acid; 10% energy; 10% Blast.

8000 HAM

Crippling Strike

Damage: 240-250

I do not feel it is wrong for a non ch to have a pet. let them have one. What I feel wrong is that they have a CL 10 pet that has the same or better HAM than my GSP, and has a resistance greater than my GSP, and they have spent nothing on the skill at being a creature handler. That is what I'm saying.

Now Juwell, I see you are a new member, and the only tag you have is your name, my question, are you a creature handler or are you a different profession all together? I'm just curious.

Can a NON-Medic use a stimpack? Nope

Can a non-tailor make even the most basic of clothing? Might want to change this to non-artisan, cause an artisan make some clothing and armor.

Can a Non-Weaponsmith make even a hammer? Nope

Can a Non-BE modify any type of Bio-agent? Nope

Can a Non-Rifleman Use a T21? Yep, but won't be of any use. lol

Can a Non-Jedi use a lightsaber? Nope

A little off topic (for which I apologise profusely), but following on from Zelfin's comments about Jedi I shall quote from SOE Genesis:

In the beginning DEV created the unbalanced masses.

In time masses learnt to play with their big sticks and guns, and the masses cried out for PWNAGE.

So DEV created the Jedi, and there was much rejoicing.

Jedi however were few in number and the would be PWNER's were jealous.

The would be PWNER's cried out for easier access to the PWNAGE.

DEV said unto the Jedi, go forth and multiply.

The non-initiated would be PWNER's rejoiced.

Soon all who wanted PWNAGE had it. Consequently they were unable to PWN each other.

And the days of the great SWG were numbered......

Wallach 1,

Don't mind your asking me at all. I am new to the forums and don't know how to make a signature that I can just click and use yet so I get tired of putting my title down after each post. I am a master creature handler, began working on it during the big nerf of last year. So I do know about the prof. Heck even have myself a few rares. So here is my title atm. Things change on ocassion but not the CH part that will be there as long as I play the game

mistake what mistake? . why cant a be make a lvl 10 that good. who are you to decide how good a lvl 10 be made pet can be. until someone shows where sony said in writing this is cheating and an expoit, i dont see it as an expoit and cheat. i still have enough ch to control lvl 50 pets. the only reason i have to keep ch is to train these pets for a non ch. i dont use pets for combat, i have enough other combat skills and using pets to be a waste of time and i do the bulk of my figthing on dathomir

tell me about it. I'm one of the most indicisive people you will ever meat as far as it comes to my attack form. I've been Pikeman, Swordman, Carbineer, TKM, thought about going Smuggler, but one thing has remained constant, and that's CH. I"m actually working on my Pokemo.....(sees the other CH's looking at me with the evil eye.) er...Rare hunting templet, Master CH, Master Scout, Ranger Tracking III, but don't know if I want to keep TKM or go with Rifle, I'm thinking Rifle, so I could be the Great Game Hunter. lol
