Thread: Why do so many CH's scoff at BE pets?

BE's charge outragous amounts for pet stims and pets.. that is the main reason.. next they seem to always jump onto the CH board with more "nerf the CH" comments then any other cross profession.. it is beyond me why the class that relys on CH the most would degrade us so much in the wallet and on OUR board.
Prices are jut to high. I can go out and tame a rancor or cat for the cost of travel.. if i buy it sure it has a bit more armor but its going to cost me over 100k. Then i go to sell meat the those greedy BE's and they get all up in arms if i sell it for more then 1/CPU.
Not all BE's are like that.. but in game for the most part i do get the feeling they look down on us and think of us as thier lower backwoods cousins from thier nice large houses in a snob glare.
I put up the dare and only Tarnblade took me up on it. And BTW, that is a really nice pet you displayed. It was my intention to prove that good pets were available at good prices... I will not be a search engine though for that super cat that Tarnblade displayed. Good luck in finding that.
PRICING. Priceing is set up by supply and demand, if you think its not you need to go back to school and take economics 101. If the prices are too high, there is no competition, additional competition brings the price back down. Too much competition and the profits become unworkable and the supply drops which brings the price back up. Another part of this is if there are not enough BE's, the availability goes down and the prices go up. Then more people get into BE and the prices go back down. This has happened on lowca. Every PA has a BE. If they do not, the PA builds one or recruits one. Even if you are not in a PA, like me, that still effect the entire economy.
Some people can find a needle in a haystack and some people couldn't find a monitor on their desk if they had 2.
You can not go to the BE boards and find one post that says nerf CH's. THat is even contrary to common sense to thing their is one there. CH's are the market for all our pet goods... period. No other profession buys those items. I do everything in my power to prop you guys up, that is why I am here.
We have another part of what we do to sell to tailors, the tissues. I would give that ability up in a hartbeat if I could become more effective in the Pet side even though the profits are better on the other side.
I personally love the BE Pets. (I'm CH 3-3-0-1 atm). I have found them to be just as fun to watch grow (albeit faster than my others) and I have just as much attachment and involvment with them as I do my other pets.
The purpose of a BE is to create a pet that is not natural, hence the high offensive and defensive capabilities at lower levels. However, a CL 10 pet should not be comparable to a CL 20. This I agree with. I think once you get over CL 18-20 then the level doesn't matter as much, because you have to be high enough as a Creature Handler to want that type of pet, and therefore I see no problem with those.
Part of the issue can be read from the title. It implies that we should be beating a path to the BE's door. I think that part of the issue is that BE's tend to think that they are God's gift to CHs and we should worship them. Ok thats a bit extreme, but there is some truth in that. CH's who are tamers are individuals as a rule, they tame alone and rely on themselves to survive. Now you are telling us that weNEED tohave a BE pet to be successful?
I've been a CH since November, I own a couple of BE pets, and have trained a good part of my exp by tame, train, and release bags of jaxes from BE's. I intend to own at least one more BE shortly, as I'll make MCH this week, a kimo. Why? Because I can't tame that in the wild. I do use a BE Gurreck, but am looking to replace him with a wild one, I might keep him, he's been a good pet. I have a BE Graul, not sure what I will do with him.
Cost of BE products is not a factor for me, being an architect does generate enough money to get by
I think that it's the attitude. There are none more self righteous than the BE/CH themselves. I have seen a lot of BE's post on our board, and to me, with attitude. On the other hand I enjoy the BEs I deal with on my server, they are nice people for the most part. I can't explain why I dislike the BE class as a whole. Maybe it is the thought of them making un-natural and perverse creations.
So maybe I'll never have the Uber pets, just what rares I can find. That's ok with me and I'll have my fun.

Ok
If you can find a BE willing to make somthing equal to or better than this would be happy to purchase.

Though better Energy resists would be apreciated.
The lower the CL of course allways the better.
all i gotta say is i hate BE's just cos they aresome of the greediest players in the game
i remember when at launch a novice Ch could use a rancor and the Be's were selling them for 50k to 100k a piece and making tons of money even when they knew that Ch was getting nerfed so people couldnt do that (which i was glad they did) the BE continued to sell thier rancors trying to get as much money as they could
then later when they fixed the clothing skill enhancing components so that they could be made in a factory
all of a sudden something that used to sell for 100 to 1000 credits became 10k to 20k a piece
so then a piece of good clothing made by a tailor costs the tailor 50k to make so they gotta sell it for 100k to make a profit
i used to be a tailor and i coulda made money but the point is that its the same item and the BE just raised the price even tho it didnt cost that much to make just cos people were stupid enought to buy them
now with the chef revamp i bet the BE are gonna charge outrageous priced for the food additives as well
although i do like to buy pet stims they are invaluable to a CH
Gemi.... I'm sorry, what you just said is rediculous. First of all, on the taming tissues, I offered 1000 CPU for milk to make the tissues and could not get any.. I had to have 25 out of the same shift to ever attemt to make a tissue that could crit or fail.
Prices going up? We used to make super Rancors by sampling chuba and making a rancor and then sampling the rancor to make a Super Rancor, One or 2 muon gold, no risk, 20 minutes, pet made. If we do that now, we get a CL 35 Rancor with 200 ham. We must sample level 55 creatures to make CL 35 pets. No, we can not sample stuff we find. It has to be the best of the best. My tag line when I was rising through the ranks was, "I love being a BE so much I will do it till I'm broke". Well I have been a MBE now for like 5 months and I have the lots of 3 other people, 7 houses, 750 stacks of items, 6 factories and can now make some pretty good stuff. And to this day, I have only sold one pet over 100k, even though I have 50 on my vender.
If a CH is broke and wants a pet, he will get it. We will work out something. I would sell the best pet I have for 4k Dath insect meat. I have often sold pet stims for meat only.
When some of you called out and said you could not find a descent BE pet at a decent price, I called out to the BE community to come together to help you guys... Give me your names and servers and I will find them for you... but did not get an honest challenge. I mistakenly thought they were honest.
Sorry, but I know you have suffered, but I have paid my dues also.
