Thread: Why do so many CH's scoff at BE pets?
BE's charge outragous amounts for pet stims and pets.. that is the main reason.. next they seem to always jump onto the CH board with more "nerf the CH" comments then any other cross profession.. it is beyond me why the class that relys on CH the most would degrade us so much in the wallet and on OUR board.
Prices are jut to high. I can go out and tame a rancor or cat for the cost of travel.. if i buy it sure it has a bit more armor but its going to cost me over 100k. Then i go to sell meat the those greedy BE's and they get all up in arms if i sell it for more then 1/CPU.
Not all BE's are like that.. but in game for the most part i do get the feeling they look down on us and think of us as thier lower backwoods cousins from thier nice large houses in a snob glare.

I too gave up asking BEs after about the 5th one that wanted to sell me a level 30 cat with crap stats for 400k.
all I can say is find a decent BE. I pay 100k for most of my pets, and believe me they are good pets. you just need to ask around, don't give up so easily. if you're on valcyn, talk to hsaza or pazou. if not, well ask around on your server board.
Kind of amusing. That say I sell a pet that takes me a week to make for say a low price of 60k. A ch combat professioner can make that in what.....15 mins??? Takes you a few hours to make money to buy this stuff, yet takes a BE a week. What if I was to inform you that for same pet, cost me 30k or more in travel and the goods (fishak, brandy, muon, correlian icecream, camps, cloning, etc) to make?
Buy them or not, it is your decision. But coming up here and dissing the GENERAL bio Es because of a handful of them that charge big prices. You want that uber FWG5 uber krayt gun and they think nothing of paying 10 mill in creds but when a bio charges 100k for a top notch super pet they all cry foul! Guess what, if you care for pet it's going to last 100 times longer than that gun will!\
If you not like prices, do not buy. But don't be pills and make the rift between BE and CH grow larger. To reach the future, we must get there together.
Oh and as time goes on, will drop. Lookit chefs, they thinking charging 200k + for a 25 crate of brandy! I expect that to drop as more and more players take up the class. Just like Bio E. There is only a handful of us since before this patch BE was BORKED!

I didn't tame it. I didn't choose CH because it was uber, I chose it because it looked fun. I don't buy my pets, not from CH, not from BE.
Is it some type of pride issue?
Possibly tinged with pride. Mostly it's because, durnit, taming creatures is (or was) fun. Super-rares reduce the fun factor for me, and turn taming into a grind.
Is it because they're stubborn?
No.
Is it because there aren't any good BE's around?
I've browsed the odd BE vendor. Sometimes there's reasonably good stuff there. If I was in the market for a pet, I'd be mailing the owners of vendors with better stock setting out what I was looking for, and establishing a dialogue to get a decent pet designed and built.
Or is it just ignorance?
Nope.
I want to tame my pets. I'm a Creature Tamer, not a Creature Combatant. I tame pets that I'll never use in combat, and could never use in combat, merely because I want to see what their tricks are. Ever seen a line of dancing kreetles? Buying a BE pet really defeats that purpose. Sure, I'd get a better combat pet, but I find I usually do better without a pet around to 'help' me out.
Further, I've just managed to scrape together 400k credits. That's about 2x as much as I've ever had at once before. I'm not going to blow a massive chunk of that on something I don't really want or need.
What ever man. I got my alt on same server which happens to be MCH!
I make that easy. If I try even harder I kin make more, if I have a friend join my party to see better missions.
I play both sides fence, so don't even ATTEMPT that arguement.

Head over to swgcraft.com and understand a bit more about how much it takes to make pet stims or vit packs. There was a time when i didnt understand why prices were so high until i tried out the class myself. In relation to everything else, i think the prices are fair. It really depends on how much you are paying for it.
From what ive seen so far, a crate of pet stims is probably on par with a crate of stims you use for yourself.
For my BE character, i dont even touch Tissues, Stims and vitpacks because they are so troublesome to make. I specialise in making pets and only make tissues for friends and regular customers who deal with me personally. I dont even charge for those mostly. I dont charge at all when it comes to friends.
Price of BE pets? nothing of mine is over 200k. most of my high level pets are between 130-180k. I let go of CL35s for about 130keven though they are technically harder to make. CL70s? i attempt but getting it is a fluke shot and costs alot of VHQ Mutant rancor DNA which takes alot of time to get. When i do make a CL70, i charge 200k. My CL10s with 4-6k ham, i charge between 40-50k and justlast nightimade a CL10 cat with 4k healthwith strong poison and disease http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=40872&poll_id=0&warned=y
Im not charging more than my usual rate for him either and you dont even want to get me started on how much effort it took to make him.
Dispite all this, i may not be the cheapest BE on my server either and im not saying that people have to buy from me. If you arent happy with my creations or services you can always go somwhere else. I completely understand.
My prices are based on what i think is fair for me in return for the time i put into my creations. Going out to sample and make these pets through its trials and tribulations is alot of fun for me as it is.Alot of BE's you see also dont charge that much either. I understand what it means to be on the otherside considering i paid 150k for a each non CH pet for my guildmates with my other character, not to mention 300k for each CL35 pet.
Look at it this way, you do 4-5 enraged rancor missions on dathomir, you get a pet that has 12k ishham, great resists, good specials, damage and to hit rate. How long does that take? an hour? How long does it take you to tame a pet that is on par with the BE pet? days? weeks?
Dont get me wrong either, im not saying you should not tame wild pets and that BE pets are the only way to go. My MCH toon has a mix of Be and wild pets. Why? on one hand i have the option to collect rares or keep what i term as cannon fodder along side my BE pets. the cannon fodder is used agaisnt things where i know for sure that any pet doesnt stand a chance. the costin the endis pretty much justifiable considering how much ive paid for a T21 and, how long it lasts. I buy a pet, it lasts me a good amount of time as long as i dont do something really stupid or risky with it.
My meat? ive paid anywhere between 3 cpu for trash quality meat. mostly though,i try to get it on my own, being a ranger.
Look down on my CH clients? Never. I have great respect for both sides. having it any other way would mean compromising the pride i take in my work.

Because almost every BE pet sold is a pile of crap. The ones that AREN'T are 500k - one million.
I will stick to my tamed pets until you gain sanity.
hmm no look around I got a cl 67 kimo for 200k one day with AR1 and 58% kin just under 12k ham and dizzy, 2 days later i got a cl 54 kimo with over 12k ham same armour 60% kin and dizzy for 107.5k lol wish I'd waited :/ the only difference is the dmg output the CL67 is 560-570 the CL54 is 410-420
, I have gurrrecks round cl50 that cost 80k with the same ham and kin with AR1, so no they don't cost a fortune BUT this depends on the server
unfortunatly, I am on gorath which as a server i love
all my BE pets are better than the wild ones and yes i do still use wild ones
Rancor, Gurreck (i have 5 4 be (2 low cl)1 wild)
gaping hunter, Graul, and a couple of others its about a 60/40 mix ![]()
