The way things are going, I'm sure an eloquent message to other classes would bring a few leaders to our side. This is completely reprehensible. It's a mockery of EVERYTHING that this profession is supposed to be. Not that I could see the logic in developer actions before, but after this it feels like they're tucked away in some distant cave unable to hear common sense.

A jedi in our guild said that the mintrick gets rid of your pet in the datapad one it turns on you. this can't be true! They can't rip our companions from us like this! It must be a flase statement! I need confirmation on this
Now if thats really true...I'm outta here!

I'm sure that's not true.

That's prettty much how it sounds. Jedi at some point would have the ability to take control of our pets away from us. Our weapons. WAKE UP DEVS AND EXPLAIN YOURSELVES. Never seen such a bunch of incompitent and cowardly developers in my life.
Our response will be nothing but silence. Jedi are too much of a priority around here...

I dont think that this is true with PC controlled pets (though I have not seen it)
In order for a Jedi to actually control the CH pet he/she has to use the commands we give them. Lots of CH use the /tellpet command.
Maybe the power is used to make pets confused or run away...who knows. Though this is SWG and seeing as the PVP game is bascially ruined beyond repair now that Jedis are everywhere, it would not surprise me if they could actually use our pets to attack/guard themselves..

If this is in fact what it is, and a Jedi can in ANY way control our animals, whether it's make them run away, listen to them instead for a minute, or just basically make them stop attacking in a way other than knocking them out cold, that's just plain wrong. We are and always will be a combat profession, by the devs own words and by game design. If we weren't, we wouldn't gain XP by engaging in combat with our animals. We have as much a right to our weapons as any other class, and I don't see their blasters disappearing off over the horizon.

Okay, I just posted on the Jedi forum for confirmation of what exactly these commands do to any animal, be it wild or tamed, and whether or not it can affect our pets. So lets chill until we get some responses.

i've experimented with jedi mind trick in pvp before publish 9. jedi had it prior to the publish as well.
yes it does work in pvp. what happens is that it causes your own pet to turn and do a 180 and attack you.
there is nothing you can do about it except incapacitate your own animal.

*sighs*
Okay then, what shall we do about it? Personally, I say we crash a few servers. This is getting ridiculous.
*grumbles* I also wish someone had mentioned this BEFORE . . . if this has been in there, we should have known about it and been able to take action when the code first appeared.

Problem is there are so few of us anymore, those that are still around really are not the hologrinding whores that the Jedi are, so we never tested it. Besides, when was the last time anyone really used a Pet in PVP unless they were just caught out in the open?

Well lets see . . . a Dev post saying "We thought you should be aware that we decided to make you the only class where a Jedi can not only disarm you but turn your weapon against you" would have been pretty f'in nice.
