At the top of the main CH page you will see a Creature Handler Chart stickied. Lists the "best" pets at each level.

Jedi will be rare and difficult - No
Increased Dev communication - No
CU will balance combat - No
Most of the bugs from launch fixed - No
saintchuck will continue to pay - No

- I supported the CURB, the Devs and the attempt to make SWG a better game and have realized it didn't work so I'm quitting in less than 2 days and won't be tricked into coming back again. Trick me once, shame on you...

I have made novice CH but have a question if some one will be kind enough to answer.

I have tried to buy many pets at level 10-13 but when i tame them from my pad or deed they always go from level 10-14 down to level 1 baby, is this normaly and I can only have a pet from level 1? I was told by a friend who also is a novice he got one from the bazaa and it was level 8 and it stayed level 8, can anyone help please.

Thanx in advance

Thanx for the reply but is it possible to buy a pet at say level 8 and and whenI use it from my pad or deed it will stay at level 8 and not revert to a baby?

I understand the object is to get them from a baby but im a little confused why I dont seem to be able to buy one at level 8 9 or 10 for eg and then I can take them from there? without them going from level 1 again.

I did buy one from a guy on naboo and he said yeah its a level 10, I presume now it means it will grow upto a level 10 not start at level 10, but is this posible, thats what I need to know so I dont keep waisting money on level 1 pets?

Thanx again

All BE pets and pets caught in the wild will start as babies, no way around it.

If you want full grown pets, buy them off of players instead of the bazaar.

If you got to popular cities like Coronet on Corellia, I'm sure you should be able to find someone there selling full grown pets without a problem.

I think Blu-haze got it right, the only tameable creatures, are the babies, so I have (not too often anymore) sold animals saying they will BE level 10 but are babies now. Are you buying these pets off of a Bio Engineer by chance? I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it (I'm not a BE) but the one animal I did buy from one, was shown on the showroom floor fullgrown, but when I bought it, it was a baby. I think it's cause he had to engineer it. Maybe a BE can clear that up for us. Also I have ran into a couple of people that have glitched pets, for instance I know a guy who has a full grown Rancor, but the datapad shows it as level 1. This I believe is a glitch, and is currently being exploited by some.

Hope this helped a little.

All BE pets start as babies. Their icons and stats will show as a full grown, but the min you tame it, it will be a baby. I was baffled by this at first to. Just remeber, if the animal can be bought on a bazaar or placed in your inventory, then it is BE and will be a baby when tamed.

I guess I have a 'glitched' pet. It's a bol, and I bought it as a deed. I couldn't tame it yet, so I left it in my house, and it was displayed as a full grown pet (going through the walls, even). When I tamed it, it was a baby, though it stayed at level 0 for about 5 days, then went to level 1, where it remains.

Are the devs going to destroy my pet soon?I hope not, because I like its high ham and high damage. If it helps, I had no idea it was glitched.

For a pet to grow quicker I believe you have to both call it and feed it as often as possible (so use it in combat until it is wounded). Although I am not certain of this.

I believe that pets grow at the same rate when you just leave it inside your datapad as when you let it out and feed it. I've been a master ch for a while and I've never come across a pet that grew faster if you had it out . I could be wrong though.

If you buy a pet from the bazaar, a vendor or a Bio-Engineer it's in the form of a deed, similar to a house or a droid. It's in your inventory. Once you tame it, it moves to your datapad like a wild baby that's just been tamed and stored. It will grow over the next 5 days at about 10% per 12 hour period. Logging in, calling it, having it all may all influence that but we aren't sure, lots of people have chimed in on all sides. Once it goes to your datapad there is NO way to get it back into inventory, however you can trade it or transfer it depending on it's level, whether it's trained in the transfer command and the skills of the reciepent.

While it's still in deed form in your inventory it can be dropped in places where other objects can be dropped (that you have permission to access such as your house, other people's houses if you have admin, your PA if you have rights, etc.). When you do that it's called furniture even though it uses the stationary pet animations (it will stretch, lick it's paws, etc.). It can be moved around like other furniture and is displayed at it's full grown size. If you pick it up again and tame it, it will move to the datapad and become a tiny baby until it grows to full size.

Note that once it's tamed it will need a CH to train it's commands like other pets in order to be useful.

Hope this helps.
