Thread: Time to demand some answers to our questions? Most definately...

Its not semantics, its called effective communication. People go to college for degrees in that, marriages are made and broken on the back of it. Communicating your desires and questions effectively and concisely is an art of great importantce. Especialy when you are essentialy compeeting with many many other voices that communicate more effectively than you do to an audience with limited time to listen and respond.

I happen to be a master CH, and have been so for 6 months or so. I've also been a number of those other combat professions you think are so high and mighty. A few are realy quite good but many are just as broken as CH is. Plenty of complaints to go around in this game. Also strangely I seem to be able to play the game just fine as a CH. I go on missions, and grind exp, and kill Goraxes and all that jazz. I find the profession very fun and effective. CH is on the weaker end of the combat spectrum if not at the very bottom, but those are primarily ballance issues, and the devs are well awarey they nerfed us and no one else in the creature re-balancing. Whining about it wont change that. I don't want to see us fail, I'm a CH and a commited one. I want us to succeed and make this a class worth playing. This childish ranting will not get you what you want.

You can **edit** and moan using any language or semantics you want, but if you want results you had better learn how to go about getting them. All our "questions" on the 19 questions threads have been a joke, not because the dev's didn't "awnser" them well but because we asked stupid questions in the first place.

It's semantics. Nothing more. If you have been here as long as we have then you will clearly see they have phrased in the form of a question Mr. Trubek. It is one thing to flame people for grammar and an entirely different one for been wrong. You can kiss off for all I care. These are still key issues for many CH.

Never throw stones at people carrying M-16's. You purposefully undermine and sabotage those working for change. With that in mind it would beg the question, are you really a CH? It seems to me that if you had some insight you would agree with the problem. Then maybe you would disagree with our tactics. But disagreeing simply because of grammar??? It is not some legally binding business agreement as the SWG team proves every day that they are not nor will be conducive towards the real progress of this game.

The fact that weapons only received a 5 second delay intimates they know they have screwed us over. Yet still they will not put everyone on equal grounds with us. Our weapons take too long to call and still we cannot change them once combat has started. If all combat professions were forcibly made to hold what ever it is that they are carrying (craft tool, stim pack, weapon, etc) and not have the ability to change to a better weapon to fit any new situation that arises, everyone would quit. That is point blank.

Galacium, Communication was my major in college. It's what I do for a living. Believe me, these people have tried every trick in the book to get their concerns across effectively and its not working. I don't blame them for using any tactic left at their disposal.

What tactic exactly are they using though? Whining a lot? Making random demands? What are they expecting to accomplish with these so called "tactics"? These people have only one actual power over the Devs, and that is to cancel their subscriptions and tell their friendsnot to start playing. What would you respond to, a din of random complaints and demands or a clear and consise question or request? <shrug>

I'll make a post trying to define our issues and offer some practical short and long term solutions. I'll spend some time thinking about it first. Likely along with most of my other positive posts it will get nearly no responces and simply slip under the waves. People here are much more interested in uberness and complaining. With the number of posts you have made you should be well aware of the trends on this board.

They've tried the clear and concise way of going about things. They've worded their proposals and concerns well and gone through the appropriate channels for over a year now. All you would be doing is what hundreds of people have done already, including our very own corro. And you know where it will get you, and us? Nowhere. We could post a thousand times in your post how wonderful it is and we'd still be back at nothing.

What you are seeing here is a last ditch effort. Nothing else has worked, and look where it has led us. We could all cancel our subscriptions, but what would that get us and the CH's who follow? Nothing.

Do what you want, but don't knock these folks for trying everything that they can to actually be heard for once. They're not going to listen to you, either.

look fellow MCH's..

letys's stop argueing amongst each other, makes us look like we are not worth bothering with.

I'm sure we al agree on one fact, the DEV's and gaping spider queens have something in common,

THE'RE RARE ON THIS HUTTING BOARD AND SELDOM SEEN

No more arguements between ourselves people, now is the time to concentrate on the issue and put pressure on the DEVS!

Hi, I just wanted to share my impressions on some of the issues.

Aakhperkare wrote:

  1. Pets 'poof' back into datapad occasionally. Seems more common in crowded regions, in battle, or right after dismounting a mount
This does not happen very often for me. I noticed this happening more often on Dantooine. And now, Dantooine is known to be very laggy (about 10 sec between the Harvest command and the actual harvesting for example). I did not notice this problem on any other planet.

  2. The new Ranged and Special Attack commands do not appear to work. Pet must be at melee range and not in combat for special attack on demand commands to work. Pets never use ranged attacks under any conditions

Special attacks work fine for me now, and Ranged attacks too. Only problem I see is that I cannot turn the ranged attack off.

  3. Pets that have been trained as Mounts will not follow their master
This is not true anymore, I noticed my pet following me. I have the feeling this was resolved by Pub 9. Anyone else?

  4. Ongoing pathing problems (pets start moving very slowly or stop following altogether)
True, simply tell them to follow again. Now they obey me... before I had more trouble.

  5. Some pets run away when they come under attack in battle (more common with some body types than others). May be related to creatures having different ‘ideal attack ranges’ that they constant try to move to.
True, but I had always the impression that the ennemies were running away and the pet did follow to attack them...

  6. Remove pet vitality loss from factional deaths, to be consistent with normal item decay rules
This has been removed... no? At least it was in the Pub 9 notes but I am not a PvP guy so...

  7. Some Creature Handlers feel they should be able to see a wild creature's Difficulty level without buying the Master Scout skill
    Agree

  8. XP rewards to successfully taming/training do not scale appropriately with creature difficulty (more XP should be awarded for taming/training more powerful creatures)
I noticed a slight difference... well it is not a huge difference, but there is one.

This happens to me constantly, moreso on Scylla than Shadowfire. Odd thing is I have MORE lag on Shadowfire than Scylla.

Have not tested due to lack of pets with specials

Nope, still happens to me on a 50/50 basis, and now my regular pets won't follow consistantly either.

  1. Ongoing pathing problems (pets start moving very slowly or stop following altogether)
True, simply tell them to follow again. Now they obey me... before I had more trouble.

Still testing, slowdown hasn't been a major problem on my current server. However, it had never happened to me at all on shadowfire until Publish 9, now it happens. They do however seem to listen to a new follow command.

You should hunt with a savage humbaba more often. Yes, this is still an issue.

Appears to be broken, unable to accurately test.

Agree (but not a real issue)

  2. XP rewards to successfully taming/training do not scale appropriately with creature difficulty (more XP should be awarded for taming/training more powerful creatures)

Opinion, not an issue.
