Thread: Publish 7 on Test Center (NOT Live servers)

As far as I know though that is pretty pointless since we cannot teach the ranged attack command in the first place. I may be out of date, I haven't actively used CH since I picked up novice tka, pets just slow me down now
IIRC, MCH teaches the ranged attack command?
The problem is I haven't seen my savage humbaba execute a single ranged attack since publish 6 went live.
I'd have to agree that critters do just slow you down, especially mounts you're not riding as you have to keep ordering them to "follow me" all the time...then they store to the datapad at random.
Pets: Added system messages for when you toggle your pet's ranged attack mode on or off

If you people are still upset with them for having to wait 15 seconds, then you are just trying to **edit** about anything you can. This is an improvement. Obviously it is not that best improvement, but 15 seconds is nothing. I will be very happy when I never have to set up a camp to bring out a pet.
15 seconds is a lifetime in battle. 15 seconds is 3 300pt damage shots from a slow weapon. 15 seconds is my 700pt health bar reduced to 0 and incapped. 15 seconds is all it took the suprize spawn of maulers (Naboo) to surround me and kill me. They even used successfully (was not working for a while) posture change on me twice to knock me off my bike (knocked off. got back on to run and knocked off again.) When other professions have to wait 15 sec to deploy their armor and damage dealing tools then *MAYBE* I will consider tolerating the 15 seconds.
Now Mind you thanks to SOE's wonderful anti-grief logic in the above instance I was dead from the moment they spawned (Can't call pet during battle). As I sat in the Cloning center reviewing the damage list (I was insured for most of the stuff) I thought for the first time about droping CH so I would have had some kind of useful defenses to that kind of NPC suprize attack. (no 'cant call lightning cannon, TKA skills during battle' for other combat professions)

For all the posters complaining about the 30 second delay in calling pets please read all of the posts. Vertexon stated that in cities or in campsites there is no 30 second delay. So what this means is everything is like it was calling pets, except for the fact that if you can wait 30 seconds you do not have to build a camp to call a pet! This is an improvement....slow down read and understand
Actually, If I read all the posts, I'd know it's only 15 seconds..![]()
Both the camp restriction and the 15 second wait are un-needed. That's the point we've been making. I sure like 15 seconds better than 30, but it's still un-needed and there have been good arguments about it being deadly. (Autostoring last nite on Wanderhome was terrible. Good thing I was in a group)

We are capable of reading and understanding. What we asked for is a fix to the autostore of pets and vehicles. A fix to the slow/unreliable pathing of pets (they get lost when we travel. Even before vehicles). We then asked that the camp restriction be lifted as a work-around. What we got was the addition of a 30 sec delay if we were outside of a camp. This is an improvement. A mostly useless improvement I might add. It allows us to get our pets/vehicles back when we are surrounded by houses or lairs. That is the only useful improvement for CH. For the rest of the players they get to drop the scout points needed to make camps. I have always been a scout and must be to be a CH so I don't know if the camps can be used by non-scouts. What else did we get. A 60 sec delay after we are dead before we can call our pets. (60 after end of combat so if the pet is your primary armor/weapon-analog you will be quite dead before you can draw your weapon and or put on your armor). An infinite delay (I think was already in place) during combat if you could actually live that long. Oh and while you are waiting that 30 sec if something attacks you the no call during combat rule takes effect canceling the call of your pet (armor/weapon-analog) And for all this "improvement" we CH's are supposed to be happy? Well the workaround is worse than the problem for me so I will keep the camp kits in my backpack and remember about making deals with the devil

P.S. 30 sec delay has been reduced th 15 sec in the TC but we do not know what is going live yet.
lol the 30 second time is still faster then if u go to inventory and make or call out camp from kit followed by calling pet out of datapad.
Come on guys give it a chance. At least now we can call our pets without a camp or giant building surrounding us.

ust for amusement I checked again and found that I can pull a camp from a crate, lay the camp, call pets in under 10 sec. Then again I have had lots of practice what with autostore and all.

Really, a 30 sec timer is just so unrealistic!! I mean, that's about as realistic as being able to store 22 dinosaur sized pets in a backpack. Oh wait.......

The magic pockets are there, and creature pets are not unique inhabitants of them.
Here's a nifty idea:
How about one of the OFFICIAL SOE STAFF make a comment about some of the statements put forth here? Like:
1. there is a 30 second wait when you call a pet, and you're not in a camp or in a city's limits (this we pretty much know has been confirmed)
2.that the above mentioned 30 second wait will be negated if you are attacked during that time (well, will it be?)
3.there is a 60 second wait after you were attacked, or in combat, before you can attempt to call your pet, while not in a camp or within a city limit (again, what is the official answer on this?)
If statements 2 and 3, listed above, are true... then they have totally kicked all Creature Handlers in the crotch, along with a demeaning slap in the face afterwards! I sure as heck hope, beyond hope, that the answer comes back as "no, no, you have it all wrong... it's not like that".
Perhaps someone else was right in saying that SOE is slowly trying to force this profession out of the game (??). It sure seems that way to me.
