Dudes, if you can now call pets outside camps/cities/residences, that is an IMPROVEMENT for CH's. It might not be enough of an improvement as you want, but it is an improvement. The only people this HURTS are the Rangers. I mean criminy (lol), it doesn't solve griefing probs in cities but it helps US in the wild. Lets train our energies on real problems, e.g. (that means "for example"): our poorly designed skill tree and our lack of viability economically and in terms of combat. Believe me, the devs will focus on this small sh** and leave the big sh** alone if we keep whining.

An accurate observation.

CHs knew the camp requirement was utterly bogus months ago, when the declared residence bug revealed that there was no griefing concern that required a camp calling requirement. The "can't call while in combat" and "can't store pets for 60 seconds" rules obviated any griefing concerns.

But it wasn't until the broader player base experienced the camp calling rquirements first hand with massively bugged vehicles that a hue and cry was raised that caused the devs to get off their complacent behinds and do something. When only the hated poke-masters were affected, the devs could ignore it. But if it affected the whine-expert Quake PvP crowd, suddenly this became a priority.

well ill solve this problem

every master ch go for whatever TKA you can get and commando for the fire dot

Its bad when i went CH so it could back me up for my pistoleer which would back me up for my CH which would back me up for my pistoleer which would ...eh you get the idea.

As of right now they just need to stop adding "new" things in the game and just fix what is currently broken

Yes the new foods is great but that was a part of the whole chef revamp. The new mounts are great too...in a roleplaying aspect as someone mentioned...since they are slower and low level.

Honestly, i havent been in the game long ( jan 1st ) but i can see a few things that would make this class appealing ..well useful.

1. Allow all baby creatures to be tamed by CH.
2. Allow all mountable looking creatures to be well, mounted...and also not stunt their growth. ( I mean you all know it would be nice to have a kimo as a mount lol )

3. FLYING MOUNTS! Ones that keep the same speed when traveling over water.

4. Add some new higher lvl pets that can be USEFUL to those high on the CH tree that also are NOT weaker then a BE pet half it's CL

5. For laugh factor...seeing humbaba's and such drop massive poops once in a while in the city and have the Binary Loaders come by to "sweep it up" lol.

I'm still trying to figure out what this obesssion with an "exploit" out away from the cities is. Are they afraid we're griefing meatlumps, nightsisters and canyon corsairs? Perhaps they're afraid we're killing too many mammiens, kahmurras, or mountain squills?

I still don't understand the griefing concept. The only thing I can think of is that they think we'd circulate pets in and out of combat as a primary weapon, which is ridiculous. If you're using your pets as a primary weapon and not healing them you have the combat effectiveness of a C3PO droid holding a CDEF. Pets in PvE right now are complete jokes suitable only for taking a beating meant for you. It'd take ages to kill anything by circulating pets out of your datapad...you don't need a timer to prevent this because anyone doing it is taking the long way around anyway. For that to be even feesable you'd have to have different command sets for all your pets.

Listen very very very carefully devs: WE CAN'T GRIEF WITH A BROKEN PROFESSION

No amount of timers is going to do a better job of preventing us from being effective more than the complete crippling our profession recieved already.

Even if they completely removed all timers and all camp requirements from our profession, we are still going to be a support class in PvE and a complete waste of skill points in PvP. Being concerned that a CH is going to grief is like being scared of a lone squad leader in PvP.

this is fubar, plain and simple.

first off, ALL creatures CL 70 and under should spawn babies.

secondly, we should not need a camp or timer to call a pet. thats just ridiculous.

the only good thing, which no one has really talked about yet from TC is the fact that now the tameable description will be accurate (supposedly) and we will now know what has babies and what doesnt (ie frenzied graul, arachne queen, etc.)

grrrrrrrr

They still aren't completely revoking it, but it seems they realized what a pain this new combat timer is. Today's update notes for Test Center:

I was hoping they were going to fix our pet specials so that they actually work. Oh well, I guess next time maybe.

Guys, the DEVs have said that the timer has been dropped to 15 seconds. I am quite happy with the way they have delt with this. If you people are still upset with them for having to wait 15 seconds, then you are just trying to **edit** about anything you can. This is an improvement. Obviously it is not that best improvement, but 15 seconds is nothing. I will be very happy when I never have to set upa camp to bring out a pet.

I read that in the TC notes too that they were going to drop it to 15 seconds but alas that is just TC and a lot can happen before the publish comes out. I guess I am just saying I will believe it when I see it. Seeing that did make me very happy though.

It looks like the ranged attack command might finally be fixed. Today's (3/5) Test Center notes:

As far as I know though that is pretty pointless since we cannot teach the ranged attack command in the first place. I may be out of date, I haven't actively used CH since I picked up novice tka, pets just slow me down now
