haha how about adding comandop while at it. umm and medic line. wait lets craft them also so tose in some that stuff.

sorry but this is nuts. doids are metal. Critters are flesh. One is programed, one is voice trained. guess you can figure that I think this idea is a case of "I want it all" bull.

Fellow Creature Handlersplease offer feedback, is this acceptable to you or not? Acceptable with changes or not at all?

Add "Droid Handling" skills to the current Creature Handler tree.

totally and utterly unacceptable.

It's these types of outlandish ideas that keep throwing the devs off-course for CH. A droid tree for CH? lol That's just plain ridiculous. Let me point out something very obvious...

It takes skills to make a droid (i.e. droid engineer). Once trained a droid obeys commands blindly. It could care less if you're Joe Artisan or Beef TKM. It will obey. Why in the hell would you need a separate tree to command a droid? This idea blows chunks. I vote no.

The CH profession, however, deals with biological entities... breathing animals with minds of their own. An animal must be trained to do your bidding and it must be constantly kept under watch to ensure it does things properly (which is the reason our specials don't work half the time. lol). We're dealing with two completely different things here.

As much as I agree that it's stupid to have a seperate tree to command high level droids, I would say that the reason is simple and not stupid : balance.

I want an edit button I meant it's stupid to think that you need skills to command a droid.

If Droid handling *must* be linked to a skill, then it should be a new one.

Also, the cost of good fighting droids should be very high, make that very very high.

I've actually been suggesting this myself.

Drop "Creature Handler" as our title and call it something like "Manager" (someone can probably come up with a better title than that =o)).

Sort of like a Squad Leader for non-player MOB's....

Want to make mounts mean something. Make cat's mountable. A little msp, was as fast as an x34.

Having it linked to DEs is not a bad idea IMO - first they need something more attractive, second the main issues with droids is not to know how to control them but how to repair them - so it would make some sense to me actually.

Aren't they adding repair packs as part of the revamp?"Droid Stims"...

Adding Droids to a renamed and revamped CH class gets it away from the whole poke-mon thing.

It's easy people. CH becomes a SUB tree of a new class whose main role is NPC management. If the Devs keep NPC pets (metal, flesh or otherwise)under the one "umbrella", they will find it a lot easier to keep balanced and manageable.

lol, only one supporter of this idea in the whole DE / CH community ... people want freebie uber droids for just being a combat class, but its not going to happen.

It makes perfect sense to me, to revamp and get rid of Creature Handler and replace it with a more generic term for pet handling. Droids are pets, so are creatures. Droids are going to have to follow the same basic rules as creatures. ie. skill point cost to control, CL progression, special abilities and commands, etc etc etc

Also, I'm not suggesting to make CH uber again. Adding droid handler to creature handler doesn't make CH any more uber. The Handler would have to choose between 70 levels of creature, 70 levels of droid, or any combo of the two.

Pistoleer (master) Creature Handler (master)
Commando (0,0,4,0) Smuggler (1,0,1,4) Bounty Hunter (0,0,0,4)
Droid Engineer (master) Bio Engineer (master)
