Let me ask you this: Would you be caught dead playing either a Bio Engineer or a Droid Engineer? Do you like the idea of "supporting" another class with items you cannot use, but can create from scratch? Do you think any of that sounds like "balance"?

I have alternate characters that are both BioEngineer and Droid Engineer. In MMORPGs, support classes are fundamental. Take weaponsmith, armorsmith, squad leader, doctor, and combat medic for examples. As a weaponsmith you definitely can't use any items you create, and it makes perfect sense to me. I also think armor should have certs but thats a different story.

Droid handling doesn't really take special talents, but if for some reason it made sense to add Engineering 4 to the prerequisite for "Creature" Handler, then that could be another possibility to raise the Skill point cost.

You had it right when you said that Droid Handling doesn't require special talents. Let me tell you what also makes "SWG sense". Making the prerequisite for Droid Handling be Survey IV. Makes as much sense as requiring scouting abilities in order to use high-tech machines that employ artificial intelligence.

The skills have to go somewhere. Anything that adds extra combat power to a player is going to need skill point expenditure to obtain. You are going to have to get used to it.

My idea is to get rid of creature handler and droid handler and merge them into one pet handler class. It makes perfectsense to me. Scouting skills are required for the creature aspect of the class while Engineering skills are required for the tech part of the class.

The rest of your responses are flamish/trollish and deserve no response from me.

I think that adding droids to our profession would just reduce the need for pets still more. Why would you take the time taming a pet, or finding DNA to make a pet when all you have to do is plant a harvester and pull up everything you need to make a droid? It sounds as if the new combat droids will be comperable to a creature of the same level, so yet another way to kill this prof.

For one thing, droids can't be healed. Your creature would tank while your droid(s) dish out damage.

Support classessupport everyone. Little has been done to avoid making Bio-Engineer something besides a slave profession to CH. I would have thought the trend would be moving away from slave professions, rather than binding a new profession completely to another.

Yeah, thanks for the lecture, because I am brand new on the earth. Not that it really has anything to do with the point I was trying to make. The point was that there is no good prerequisite for a droid handler profession. And if there were, scouting wouldn't be it.

Now this is nothing personal, but I don't think you should get more than what you already have, Mr. CH. I don't think thatthe two lines of scout were enough to justifythe comparatively powerful PvE force that is the CH, nerfs or not. For my elite combat profession, I did not add 70 creature levels to my combat ability.

It makes perfect sense because you aren't thinking in terms of immersion into a gaming world, you are thinking of mechanics. Unless you have a situation where both of these things work together, then you could slap any name whatsoever on the box and sell it as "brand X MMORGP". Star Wars is the precedent, not everquest or wherever it was you came from.

The rest of your responses are flamish/trollish and deserve no response from me.

For one, everything I write is flamish/trollish. You asked for feedback, so I gave it. I know you like your idea, but I do not. And by saying that they deserve no response, you have given it.

But on top of mechanics,I think that throwing droids into the combat pet category is disgusting and vile. We as DE's already feel punked bythe developers in favor of the CH. Sell it to someone who hasn't been waiting nine months for a substantial profession fix.

The problem with strong combat droids (like CH pets) is that they offer huge advantages in PvE combat when used as tanks. Even a lv 15 pet with good HAM can delay a red con mob from attacking you long enough to make a kill possible, and further reduce the risk by distracting them from the DB if you get incaped. As a result, there is a lot of leverage between combat skills and pet level. A CH needs master scout (with little combat advantage), but still had to be nerfed to keep the CH+Elite combat dabbler from soloing the largest mobs in the game. If that can be done, there is no content left for groups of maxed out characters.

I really dislike giving the droid usageto CH.The class requires two Scoutcolumnswhich offers little combat benefit and uses up a lot of skillpoints to keep that balance, but it already has plenty of content.

Where should it go? For similar placement it should requireat least a couple ofArtisan columns, to use up those skill points. If it is really going to be a separate class, I would like to see it need Master Artisan so there is little risk of droids getting nerfed down. Better yet, I would like to see the skill spread among the elite crafting classes. Since the devs are concerned about the complexity of that though, just DE and Merchant would work. Merchant is really common to all the crafters, though it is so low on content that it is commonly dropped once the vendors get placed.

Fellow Creature Handlersplease offer feedback, is this acceptable to you or not? Acceptable with changes or not at all?

Add "Droid Handling" skills to the current Creature Handler tree.

Creature Handlers and Droids would then be subject to the current CL 70 limit and 3 pet limit of the CH class. All pet commands and abilities would then apply to droids. The Creature Handler would have to choose his combination of droids and pets to meet the CL 70 or 3 pet restrictions. Droid CL control limitations would scale the same as it already does in the CH tree for creatures.

BioEngineer and Droid Engineer would then remain pure crafting professions that support Creature Handlers for high end combat pets. They can then support the rest of the populace with low end combat and utility droids/creatures.

Droid handling doesn't really take special talents, but if for some reason it made sense to add Engineering 4 to the prerequisite for "Creature" Handler, then that could be another possibility to raise the Skill point cost.

This solution would be easier to implementfor the devs, no additional profession required. It also follows the current system of BE and CH interdependency. It also keeps Droid Engineers a crafting class rather than a hybrid combat class, which is what the majority of DE prefer. It also solves the potential future nerfage to having 70 levels of creatures out and 70 levels of droids out at the same time.

You really do not know waht DE want ...

Andif you really want someDroidsgo to Lok and try taming babies DroidDeka instead of bugging us with silly idea ...

This is really rather simple.

I became a creature handler to Tame and Use CREATURES.

In fact the very title its self ( Creature handler ) does tend to point out what this proffesion is about.

Why would I sudenly want to give the dev's even more excuses to screw up my prefered proffesion, with somthing that has nothing to do with it ?

The fact there even bothering to consider puting in another proff without fixing the existing one's should raise some serious questions about customer service and the lack there of.

If you like droids, If you dont like pets, then go ahead praise this new proff all you like, but please go do it on another board and drop CH.
