The best thing to do would be **edit** to a mission terminal and take a destroy a wrix lair mission that way you know where some will be, I did this on Correlia and it worked for me

I tamed my Grand Wrix on Correllia. I beleive it was on a trip Northwest from Tyrena and waaay out in the wilderness. Since then I alkso tamed a GSP on Talus and the two of them make a very good team.

What level taming do you need to get one of these? I found a grand wrix lair as well as a greater sludge panther lair on Talus, but couldn't tame them with taming 1 and training 1.

that is all you need is taming 1 and training 1. I got my sludge with just those two skills

You weren't attempting to tame the babies then. You only need Taming 1 and Training 1 to tame these beasts, and call them from your datapad. The reason I know this??? Because I have A Greater Sludge Panther who is now full grown, and a Grand Wrix who is full grown... in my datapad, since I got 1,1,0,0. I use them both on a regular basis fighting on Dantooine.

Find the babies and you will have a nice new tank.

Btw, I have been testing both of these fine pets out, and I have found that the GSP seems to do better in battles vs Kinetic, since that is what I primarily hunt. I just got a baby Mountain Vesp on LoK which I think will outpreform both of these, but we'll have to see. I am currently only 1,2,1,1... and don't see much more pets, cept maybe that Spider Queen (if she's still around, and I doubt babies are any more) going into my datapad for use, other than a rancor, down the road.

PS, took me a long time to figure this out... the skill modifier in the Taming ability is the one that allows you to tame. The one in the training line allows you to call. They are poorly worded, but work, for all intensive purposes.

When I tried last night I only had taming 1 and wasn't able to tame it.. I now have training 1 as well, so I'll try again. Thanks

I found a nice spot last night a little north of Coronet City on Correlia. There was a nice looking family on one of the river banks (no nest though, just a bunch of Wrix's and Grand Wrix's hanging around, no Mottle Wrix's...thank god!) and lo and behold, a baby Grand Wrix, which I promplty tamed...then I went out hunting for about 10 minutes, came back, and another Baby Grand Wrix had spawned at the same spot, so I tamed him too, now I have 2 growing in my datapad!

If you travel NNE along the line between Tyrena and Kor Vella on Correlia, you will like see some grand wrixes. Focus on the middle third of the line for your hunting (near the mountains where the river has the big bend). I occasionally see them closer to Tyrena and never near Kor Vella. This is also good hunting grounds fro other medium difficulty (for Correlia) animals. Tabbages, rogue bagerasets, mottled wrixes, violent krahbus and the like if you are trying to get better exp than you get from killing endless numbers of durnis and paralopes.

I'm on Bloodfin...but the two places I have found lairs on Corellia were NE of Tyrena (middle of map) and SW of Coronet. As others have mentioned, it helps to follow the river banks, as that's where I most commonly found the spawns. If you don't see a baby, just move on to another spawn until you do, your patience along with a little luck will eventually pay off. And yes, you only need to be 1/1/0/0 to tame/call GW.

doh, scratch that SW of Coronet part

I know I found lairs outside Coronet, but can't remember the direction for sure now

try the trek NE from Tyrena towards the middle of the map though, they're out there

I just picked up 3 babieslast night. The spot was NE of Tyrena right before you get to the mountains. There are tons of spawns on those foothills. I was able to find 2 different Grand Wrix spawns. I also found 2 other normal wrix spawns.

I noticed that Grand Wrix's will only spawn 2 MOBs along with other types of wrixes. So I would suggest if there are no babies just WP it and go look for more, unless you want to take your life in your hands and try and kill one.

I was really lucky in that the first spawn I found actually had 2 babies in it. But I had to run around for 2 - 3 more hours before another baby spawned. I did kill both mature grand wrixes at one point but that really didn't change anything. Best thing is to just keep coming back. They change about every half hour or hour. Go collect hides or keep looking for more Grand Wrixes if there arent any there.

I started in Coronet and made a waypoint to Bela Vistal and just ran across the map. About mid-way I found a wrix lair that contained a grand wrix baby, and a mottled wrix baby.
