Thread: Great Plains Stalker
Shrik
I wish you luck in your endevour to find this kitty as he is one rare beasty. I have found most of my spawns within 1500m of the Lord Nyax POI on Corellia but have found no babies yet. Have killed 24 adults in the process but no babies ![]()
Good Luck
i found my GPS baby after 8 spawns and 31 adults, took me 9 days of nonstop searching.
good luck to all who are on the hunt for one of these guys, you'll need it (still havent got my bull baby, sigh)
I too have joined the lonely and frustrating search for the GPS. I have compiled a list of locations reported for sightings. It gets longer each day. I visit them daily..have tryed at various speeds. I have killed the spawns, studied the areas, but have yetto even see a single adult. I have been searching for two weeks now. I saw a guy on a landspeeder yesterday hunting the area...we bothagreed that we had't seen any adults.
This all started two weeks ago when I had the good forture to find a Swamp Stalker baby on the third spawn of the the third group I killed. This started my quest to hunt all the great cats. But this GPS is like the Abomitable Snowman...and I don't even have some shaky film to keep me encouraged.
Hang in there however...maybe one of us will get lucky soon (when I think about it..this is what being an MCH is all about...I hope they continue to provide great things for us to hunt).
My first time out I spent a couple hours riding my Brackset mount all over the central areas and nothing. I half expected this. I figured I used up my newbie luck on my swamp stalker. I've since made the trip a couple more times, I think i may take a trip nce a day and see what I can find. I've been focusing on the central area between the rivers where the highest density of sightings are, but I think I'll expand my looking.
Good idea on teh gat hides as you go, I can probably get a bunch of hides if I scorch earth along my path. The second time through I might find more.
Another idea i had was to find single animal spawns of other creatures and kill all spawns of it to see what spawns after it. For example I see a lone direwolf. Kill all spawns of it and see if another solo mob spawns after it. Just an idea, I'll let you know if it works.
Take care all and good hunting!
My datapad is full of all of the locations off of swgcreatures.com for the great plains stalker. I usually eliminate the waypoints outside of the 2.5K circle around Nyax's to keep my search precise. Every couple of days I spend hours riding around on my brackaset to every point on the list in this area so spawns will be sure to show up before I'm on top of them. Sometimes I find other lairs/spawns, but mostly nothing - spawn rate is a mess in that area and across Corellia, at least on my server. Camping sometimes gets a few spawns to pop up, but since it's a wide area, I can't drop a camp for 10 minutes at a time every 120m. Over 40 hours spents in that area and guess what? I have yet to see one GPS spawn.
Personally, I'm done with searching for rares like this. Too much time for no reward. At least with bull rancors and arachne widows you can find lairs on missionterminals and make money, harvest, and get xp. The GPS, swamp stalker, and thune grassland guardian are too ridiculously infrequent with their solo spawns to be anything but another time sink...
At this point, I have about 20 confirmed-sighting waypoints of GPS, and I try (although not successful all the time) to hit all those points once per game day. I find the wp, and circle it (at about 100m). I've only hit one spawn (4 adults) but it was exciting to see one and get all knotted up trying to get ready to take it on.
Most of those points I got from swgcreatures.com. Some I got from fellow CH's who had them in their datapad.
I agree that slower travel is better than faster travel. I also agree that finding something else to do en-route (like spend some time beating on all of Nyax's minions, although Nyax himself is a bit beyond me) is a plus to keep this from burning you out.
I'm still looking ![]()
