TH,

What do you see in the future for Creature Handlers?

What suggestions do you have for Creature Handlers to earn credits and contibute to the player economy?

When will the exotic and rare pets start appearing in the game world?

Why benefits, in your opinion, are unique to the profession?

Thank you/

1. Why can't animals that a bio engineer can sample be tameable???

I can make ac1 60 ken pets with my bio engineer with relative ease. I can make a cl 44 pet thats way way better than any wild pet. Most tameable wilds have real similiar stats. Gurreck, Webmaster, Archane Warrior......stats are so close. Only way I can tell difference is that they have different skins.....

Ever since patch, wild animals are easy to take down. I fear no animal sides krayts. Which is rather sad and totally unbalanced.

8. Could we work out some sort of tradeoff in exchange for more pet storage? Especially popular

is the idea of a "stable/kennel" structure (which would take up lots and require maintenance)

into which tamed pets can be placed.

Could be reworded as follows:

8. Do you have an update on the request for more pet storage outside the data pad? Especially popular is the idea of a "stable/kennel" structure (which would take up lots and require maintenance)

into which tamed pets can be placed.

Trade-off is a loaded dev term. I for one amnot interested in losing any of my remaining skills/abilities in order to get a stable/kennel. Since we have repeatedly requested pet storage outside the datapad, this response would be an update rather than a new question, I believe.

Thanks for all your work.

It may be too late for this, but I'd like to add:

1. Compared to vehicles, is there any reason why mounts can't recover from galloping faster? Perhaps simply make gallop a toggle off/on all the time?

2. Will specials ever work "on command"? That's kind of what we were expecting.

3. Wasn't the point of the last patch to diminish the power of "dabblers"? - (BE's can resample their creations and make 2nd and 3rd generation pets that give all the "tanking" power of a MCH back to the "dabbler".)

4. Why can't every creature have babies? We can't tame something above our level, so what would be the harm giving babies to all creatures?

5. Is it too late to redesign BE again? Maybe BE's could be the "slicer" of pets, the "buffer" of pets, the "healer" of pets? Do the devs realize that taming animals is fun? We enjoy it. It's the best "content" that the profession has. We'd rather see more babies than buy cloned pets.

6. Are combat droids going to exceed the abilities of our best pets? Perhaps creature pets can be defensively oriented and combat droids can be offensively designed... (high ham/low damage) versus (low ham/high damage)?

7. Would the devs be willing to take another look at the failure rates for taming and training? I don't know about novice, but they seem way too high for a "master" creature handler.

8. Do the devs feel that the controls already in place to prevent griefing and exploits are sufficient without requiring a camp to call pets? (pets don't instantly heal in the datapad anymore, pets can't be called once combat has already started, pets can be stored and "cycled" until the fight is compeletly over for 1 full minute, etc.) - There's no need for additional timers in order to remove the camp requirement, but do the devs trust us on that?

9. Given the new tame level system spread throught the ch profession, shouldn't creature handlers be able to see the adult CL of wild babies before they try to tame them?

Vert,

Will you please, just once, ask the devs if the CH's shouldn't beable to see the adult CL of a baby before they tame it, given the lastest changes to the system?

If you ask them just once and tell us what they say, we'll stop bugging you about it.

thanks.

Great list Vert, thanks for your work on this!

One thing though ... PLEASE don't say trade-off. OMG we'll get another dang nerf! They'll make is so we can only haveone pet at a time on our datapad or something even worse! I'm not kidding.

10) pets should not stand by when their master is incaped and watch as they are DB'ed

Theywon't and don't if you tell them to Guard you.

Pistoleer (master) Creature Handler (master)
Commando (0,0,4,0) Smuggler (1,0,1,4) Bounty Hunter (0,0,0,4)

I understand the aversion to the term "trade-off"; it may be my fault for even bringing it up.

However, let's face it, this is a negotiation. We are not in a position of power, unless we all cancel our accounts at the same time and specifiy to anyone who cares to listen why.

I, for one, am willing to give up readily callable pets on the datapad for 2 to 3 times as many pets that would be stored in a kennel or stable or something of that sort.

Typically, when I was still an MCH, I only used on a regular basis 5-6 pets, for different situations. For some hunts (krayts or kimos, for example) I'd take along a GSH and a lowland salt mynock for the actual hunt. I'd have a mount or two available. I'd have my usual cats for escort and or low-level NPC bashing, or harvesting of low to mid level critters. Sharnaff hunts? 2 GSPs or the gurreck, depending upon how many bulls are about and if I'm hunting with another CH.

I'd happily give up 10 datapad slots for 30 paddock slots. I could definitely live with that, with the inconvenience of having to go back to the ranch to pick up a specific pet for specific prey.

IF something like a stable is ever added for CH's. I am betting it will be a PC city structure only...
