Yeah, they do actually.
Just last night, my kusak stalker (who was on guard) looked on stupidly as a pirate casually strolled up to me and DBd me. Seconds later, another PC killed the pirate. Too late for me, though. I woke up in the clonefac.
Using a BE kimo i can tell my pet to attack even after im dead, and he does attack. And hedeathblows automaticlyin pvp.

However....
I want to find baby animals out in the wilds that are strong enough to handle the high-level MOBs that a master CH is wont to face, especially if they are bolstering their pets with a secondary combat profession (an absolute necessity due to the utter weakness of pets compared to the worthwhile mobs in this game, and I'm not just talking krayts). I want every single bloody creature of CL70 and down to have babys, and I do NOT mean babys that spawn once every 500 lairs. Ultra-insanely-rare creatures are a JOKE thanks to the total nerfage of creatures that the Devs have wrought upon this game. And the promise of lots of previously unavailable CL50 and lower pets was a flat-out lie. That's right, Thunderheart and company: you LIED to us. I don't gather pets simply because they're powerful. I gather pets because it's fun. Where's my wild tybis babys? Why aren't giant pekos back? Where are the whisper bird and pharple babys? Where are the radiant lantern bird babys? Wild kimos? Any of the higher-level voritors? Seething bol crushers....oh wait, you totally destroyed them with a double armor removal/kinetic nerf....and I STILL don't think they have babys.
So my NUMBER ONE QUESTION: When are you going to reverse the pathetic sham you called "balancing" on the creatures of SWG and make wild animals in this game something to be worried about again instead of snickered at or ignored?
NUMBER TWO: When are you going to open up the barn doors and let them animals make babys? ALL of them with a CL70 and below. And stow the garbage about how "unbalancing" such a move would be and how "over-powered" this would make CHs when I see BEs making "uber" CL70 pets that could wipe the planet with wild CL70 pets, and when I see tamed versions of wild pets being destroyed by their "equal level' wild brethren and by almost any half-mastered combat class in PvP. I want variety, I want to be able to have pets that BEs -CANNOT- make as well as having the ones they can, and have these pets be worthwhile in a hard fight instead of one-hit blunders.
NUMBER THREE: When will my pets stop running off over the hills, even if they have a high ferocity rating, and dragging mobs through other mobs, all of which decide that I'm a better target than my pet? You said that there would be a "chance' that a mob would target the handler rather than the pet. As Colonel Potter often said: "Horse hockey!" Mobs agro on me rather than my pet, at a rough guess, 75% of the time when they're triggered, even if I'm so far away that the mob's dot is barely on my radar.
NUMBER FOUR: What harm is there in a fenced/walled kennel structure I can have next to my house (maybe accessible through the house via a new door that appears)? Let it use 1-2 lots, give us a variety of sizes and styles to choose from and let the creatures in the kennel NOT count against our stored totals, nor make us sacrifice any of our stored total to have a kennel.
NUMBER FIVE: When will my female animals be recognized as female? I'm VERY tired of people patting my female kaadu on the head only to be told it's a "him" and then ask my why I gave it a "girl" name *rolls eyes*. If the game can recognize male and female characters, it can recognize male/female creatures. And if the animal has no stated gender when tamed, let us choose what gender the baby is when we tame it.
I'll leave it at that for now, I guess. Bit late as the list has supposedly been submitted, but oh well. Venting is good for what's left of my SWG soul, which is getting lesser and lesser on a daily basis.
7) How about a couple more mounts for us? Tybis, CuPa (they're tauntauns, Sony- you're not fooling anybody), Mawgax. Tortons for multiple people, Bagerasets...
8) Could we please see the possibility for very small pets to ride on us? Like a "perch" function for smaller birds, bunnies, frogs, etc. That way they wouldn't have to run their poor little legs off to catch up
9) If I can craft/grind while walking/running, why can't I whilst riding a four-legger? It's not like you have to always control the steering with your hands...
10) I've said it before and I'll say it again...can we PLEASE have saddlebag storage made for our mounts at least? Store their food/petstims/ an extra gun or some powerups...
How about that? I made it to 10. Yay me!
And I have noticed some of the posters here have animosity towards the BE profession. Keep in mind that we can't always tame what we make unless we're one of your fellow CH. So cut us some slack- Your worst case scenario in Taming that baby merek is that it'll aggro on you..Oh no! a BABY merek~ BioEngineers gotta go after Mommy and Daddy...they hit a LOT harder when you screw up..

But (unlike some people on this forum) when I don't care for something myself, I never argue *against* it - I respect that some people want those things, even if I don't.
But personally, I would rather get some answers (and maybe some "pet" issues) cleared up.
Which answers? Which pet issues? Finding that out was the point of creating this thread. I put together that list of ten questions by going through the notes I've been taking from regular forum posts since December, matching them up against the replies to this thread, and editing the thoughts to achieve what I hope will be maximum impact in a concise form. I realize that some people think that we're doomed (and I try to communicate those feelings in the more "free verse" posts like the state of the profession), but turning this opportunity into an emotional rant is not the best path to getting thoughtful answers.
Many of the "questions" take on the form of feature requests, yes. That's because I wanted the ten questions to be things that people on this forum care about (and yes, I have seen that many people really want things like increased storage and static content - or at least want to know what the Devs think so the discussion can be planned accordingly). I purposely did not include things that are very narrow in focus (why don't huurtons and vernes make sounds when they vocalize?) or things that CHs seem to have heated differences of opinion on (should seeing CL be taken away from Master Scout and given to CHs? or Should the entire cloning line be removed from BE and replaced with "pet slicing?").
I didn't realize using the words "trade-off" was going to generate this level of contraversy, or I would have rephrased it. I do think we need to keep in mind that database space is at a premium, and letting the Devs know that we don't expect them to magically create it for us can only help our cause. The Merchants were just hit with a "vendor storage space nerf," and increasing the number of customization-heavy pets in thedatabase is going to be a hard sell. At the time, making it clear that we're willing to "negotiate" seemed like it would decrease our chances of being rejected out of hand. I still believe this to be the case, though I absolutely understand the concerns people have with the wording.
Vert,
I stand by my original comment that you did a good job on the list.
My concern with negotiation is that it will be unilateral, and it won't be our side (you included). Normally, a negotiation would result in a proposal. "We can give you better pet variety but can't give you the zoo", followed by a reasonable 'because' would be nice. It would also be a plus for that to contain a "How do you all feel about that idea?"
What I fear is that we'll instead get something similar to "We've removed the camp restriction for calling pets and instead you'll have to wait 30 seconds for them to appear. Have a nice day."
As a programmer, I sure understand there are limits and don't expect miracles. But a lot of the items on the list, especially those that would quiet the masses, don't require miracles.
And a little better communication doesn't hurt either, as opposed to the "30 seconddelay to prevent a myriad of griefs", when none of the CHs here can come up with any valid reason for it.
Keep plugging on!

This is DEFINITELY not a negotiation. The class of creature handler got hit hard on this last patch, and I was in SUPPORT of that patch. However, I was -NOT- in support of the complete trashing of the wild creatures that the Devs snuck in as "profession balancing". Balancing my eye! The creature nerf was specifically done to make us dependent on BEs for our "tank" creatures. I don't mind BEs being able to make powerful fighting pets because at LAST I am able to have serious combat creatures that aren't ugly or a bug or both, which was what I was reduced to before the patch (with the sole exception of the guerrek).
However....

The "Creature Rebalancing" wasn't 'snuck' in. TH announced it I think it was the end of October. Some of us were vocal about it, but as soon as the CH skill tree (brought up in same TH post)issues were ironed out, everyone forgot about the creature castration and we never got any support.Keep up the fight Vertexon, you have my support.
"Rebalancing" was announced, yes, but they what actually happened was NOT rebalancing. The devs were deliberately vague about it and I don't think anyone thought it was gonna be as total and completely debilitating to wild creatures and the CH as it turned out to be.
Mar...
I understand... but I want to hear it directly from Sony. That is why I would like a direct question and answer from Sony. Is CH a combat class or not? If not...I can apply my skill points in another type of combat profession.

Yes, of course SOE was deliberately vague about it, when have they not been deliberately vague about anything. Even I didn't think they were going to completely castrate us as they did. We knew what they were going to do, just not to the extent that they did it. As examples they told us creatures under lvl30 would lose armor and creatures over that would have resists changed, and that is what they did and so much more.
We are both right in that as I said, they did tell us about it and some of us tried to get support against it; and you said they were deliberately vague about the changes. None of us could have expected (though we know better now) what they did to our class.
