Thread: Publish 7: Major (CH-related) Features
If the Devs of the SCREWED UP GAME launch this 30 second timer BS without first fixing the AUTO-STORE bugs ..... I will quit this game .... NO MORE MONEY!!!!! .... Itsnot only your problem Its Your Fault too! (devs)
From the first time i heard about this all i wanted to be was a CH, and now I am and it SUCKS.
Zylphrix Tragg
... sorry I cant help it, im useless now, Not only does everyone else think my pets are stupid so do I, there either running away or vanishing in thin air. Useless, unless u wanna die and take a few freinds with you
I am all for new mounts and stuff but, why must you always fix a senseless and poitless bad point about the game and replace it with something just as bad and pointless only slightly different?
I have Complained in the past, I wont deny it. I threw out a major stink over Item decay and am thoroughly glad to see it go away due to Faction death for insured items . I feel I must make the point that you guys Have done a Fab job on much of the game, I still enjoy it a great deal but Time delays are so very much THE LAST THING you should EVER ad to a game especially without valid reasons.
Thanks for the improvements.

Come to think of it....
After re-reading the threadwhere Vertexeron posed several questions of us, one of which being name the top 5 creatures you want mountable, it just occurred to me that the top requested animal there was cats. Just about everyone wanted Cat type creatures to be mountable. Right before he posted this thread, Vertexeron un-stickied the thread I'm mentioning here. Was the thread something to keep Vertexeron and us occupied? Did they already know what they wanted to add, but wanted he and us to think that they were actually going to listen to something we said?
No conspiracies here.
I unstickied the thread because I don't like to have more than ten threads stickied at once (it creates too much clutter), and that one seemed to have gathered plenty of feedback already (almost 100 responses).
Once I've processed that information into a Mount Request Document(taking care to remove bantha and cu-pa requests), I'll post it for you guys to see.
Incidentally, that thread was my idea. It's not designed to "keep anyone busy." I wanted to gather community opinion to present to the Devs.

Okay, 10 seconds (maybe more) to pitch a tent and call the thing, PLUS 4-5 seconds average time per tentspent to craft crates ina factory (500 seconds time spent creating a schematic and running to the factory to start a run of 100 tents), PLUS 9 seconds average time spent per tent to gather the 1500 organics from mobs on newbie planets (going to planets with big animals that yield more tents woudl take more time)for a run of 100 tents.
This will take a total of 24 seconds all together so you can have a tent to pitch and call your pet. You will only have to wait 6 seconds longer with the new process for calling pets. The enormous benefit to the entire non-scout community (including Jedi) greatly outweighs your 6 seconds of inconvenience.
SIX SECONDS! You all act like the world will disintegrate if you had to wait 6 seconds.

Negligable like 5 seconds. I carry camps around with me so popping a camp and calling 2 creatures and my bike is less than 10 seconds; maybe a little more if I mess up and call the wrong creature. With a 30 second rule, calling the wrong creature will cost you at least a minute.

I shouldn't be responding to this. But I have no idea what that means. I said "Here's information" and then posted the information? How can anyone possibly be reading devious intent into that? I didn't even say anything.I regularly remind the Devs how the community feels about the unwarranted 30 second delay. I did so again tonight. I plan to continue doing so for the foreseeable future, or until this gets changed or better justified.
Ask them to please put a 30 sec timer on equiping a pistol, carbine, rifle etc.
Also note that people will just leave their vehicles out so they are ready. Come to think of it that is more starwarsy anyway. In the movies when people wanted to get away fast (RTOJ) they hopped on vehicles and ran away they didnt wait even 1 sec for them to be 'generated'

Vert - Thanks for posting up the info.
General comments, for whatever its worth:
New Mounts: Bantha - well, duh! CuPa...mwerrr...Eyes of Mesra says next expansion planet will be Hoth. Funny how I figured that out. In the meantime, Aflac, my CL 57 Kaadu whut has Strong Poison, 50% Kinetic, and hits for near-500, will serve just fine. I would have been really jazzed if flying pets were put in...and that'll happen in Publish 8, right? Right?? Don't make me hold my breath until I turn BLUE!
Calling Restrictions Lifted/Timer: The only advantage I see is that you save a camp or two. Instead of running to missions, you can speeder out to mission area(s), store bike, pull pet, battle, rinse/repeat. Makes things a wee bit faster is all. More of an advantage to nonCH's than us.
What I think we're trying to say here, is that:
1.) They are giving everyone the ability to call pets/vehicles/droids/etc, anywhere.
2.) Because this is now an innate ability for all players, it is being subjected to a 30 second timer.
3.) Currently, the scout class (a prerequisite for creature handler) has the same ability, timer-free, by crafting a camp. One of the main perks to scout, IMO.
4.) Currently, all classes have this ability, timer-free, in a city or existing camp.
5.) Because of this change, ALL classes are being penalized with a 30 second timer, regardless of where they are. Camp, city, wilderness all equal 30 seconds.
6.) This change impacts creature handlers most directly because it is equivalent to a pistoleer being told they must wait 30 seconds to equip their gun. It is a time-sink.
Therefore, the creature handlers are the most vocal about this particular issue, as it compounds some of our other bugs, like pet auto-store.
I think the easy solution, that seems most balanced, fair, and non-time-sink-ish, is to keep the system the way it is currently:
1.) Pets/vehicles/droids/etc. may be called in a city or camp with no time delay.
And ADD to it:
2.) Pets/vehicles/droids/etc. may be called anywhere OUTSIDE a city or camp, but are subjected to a 30 second penalty timer for non-standard location.
This means if you are in the "city" locations, you don't have to wait for your vehicle to spawn. You don't have to wait for your droid to spawn. You can have access to your goods just like you always have.
But you now have the ability to call without a camp, in case you need it. Jedi no longer have to have scout buddies come pick them up from their hunting spots, crafters no longer have to curse the sky when their vehicle autostores and they're left 4K from nowhere without a speeder. These are all good things.
As it stands now though, all players are LOSING a CURRENT ABILITY. Why you don't seem to see that is beyond me. If I'm in a hurry to get somewhere from town, I don't want to wait 30 seconds for my speeder to materialize because now everybody gets abilities I always had. It's a plain and simple nerf to any current scout, and the player base as a whole.
Your comparison of a creature to a weapon is invalid.
A creature is NOT a weapon. It is akin to having a second person with you carrying a weapon, ... not being the weapon itself.
