I actually love the idea of the community, as a whole, refusing to apply for the position. It's clear they don't make use of the Correspondentsystem as they're supposed to, it's clear they manipulate and lie to even the Corr's, so what's the point in having one?


I think it would be an incredible statement if we told them where to stick their BS 'communication'.


Course I know it'll never happen because there's always someone who wants to "be in charge" and would submit their name for consideration.

One vital thing I hinted at in my last post but want to reiterate. Whoever gets this position... do not let the devs dictate what you say to us. Do not let them silence you and disallow your communication with us. If you don't know the answer and can't get it then say so. No beating around the bush. And if the devs try to manipulate you this way and keep you silent when you could answer then you should post and tell the whole community what kind of people the devs are and expose them for who they are... and ultimately quit the position if that's what it takes. I'd rather have the devs ban me for telling the truth to you all thanbe a puppet on a string. This is very important, because if you can't be yourself and say what you think as a correspondent, to the CH community, then why even be one in the first place? Why even have one? I feel like all of the correspondents have been stifled in some way by the devs and it aggrevates me. Remember how frustrating it was all the times Vert was nowhere to be found and we needed answers? Somehow I don't think it was all Vert's fault and it makes me damn suspicious of the devs and how they treat their correspondents.


As for me being a good writer... thanks for the compliment Pluto 9. Nah, I just have a passion for saying what I feel and making it come out right. Most times you'll see me edit a message a dozen times just because I'm a perfectionist that way. Just a compulsion I guess. hehehe


If I get elected by the community I'll do my best. If I can't do my best because of the devs or some hinderance then you'll know about it. I won't beat around the bush or be silent. But at the same time I won't go rip roaring to the devs every time some bug pops up. I think some sort ofbalance is needed when communicating the needs of the CH community to the devs. You can't go about it pissing and moaning and coming off as whiney. Give them the facts in clear and easy-to-understand language and express the need for urgency when the bugs affect CH in a big way. What more can a correspondent do?


All I ask is that whoever gets the position---don't be afraid to say what the devs won't let you say. If it gets that bad that you have to watch what you say and it affects your meaningful communication to the community, then quit the damn position and say it like it is so all of us will know what the devs are reallly like. Expose it, don't hide it. I just have this nagging feeling that devs want to control correspondents and what they can and can't say. I hope I'm wrong.

I would hope Vert got that list to the devs before retiring. It's a start. Another thing you have to keep in mind... sorting through the forum and picking out bugs and differentiating them from just player error or something else is going to be a challenge and a full-time job. This means testing the bugs out yourself and putting a lot of time into sorting through the feedback CH's are posting. If you stay on top of it and make copious notes you can be effective, but it's gonna be a thankless job.

A new ch Correspondent


I am deeply honored to see my name mentioned in this post several times. I am proud to be a creature handler and am proud to be a leader of the creature handler profession both here and in my guild BEAST. When Tiggs makes a post to apply for the correspondent position I will be applying for it as it is ultimately up to Tiggs who becomes the next correspondent.

Milteck, while I am a passionate and rabid defender of the faith, I am also a cynic and a pessimist and very VERY bitter toward the devs. I would make a lousy Correspondent because Iam hot-headed and reactionary when it comes to changes to my favorite profession.


I appreciate the thought though

no he wants applicants to submit an email, and i assume the selection will be private...it would serve no advantage to have immediate complaints over the selection...i.e. "i can't believe they chose "x" over "y"...if no one knows who applied, that scenario can be avoided

Well to give the guy a little credit he did come and help us when the group mission payouts were counting pets in the credit split but not in group lvl lol.
