Thread: New Correspondent Nominations
When therealTK421 took over as DE corr, he was elected. The community offered their opinion on who they would like to see. He won fairly unanimously. Since he too has stepped down. Anyway, I would rather Tiggs maybe have some insight on who the community feels valuable. Yes, even if it is not me or someone I like. Although we CH are getting so few its hard to find anyone left on the list of people I don't like.
Thanks, Ekaw. Missed that when I looked over it.

Kitoth is right
Tiggs will be posting a thread shortly asking for people who are interested in the position and why they feel they would be a good candidate. Then they (soe) decides the victor. (victim lol)
I do thank some of the people here who consider me worthy, it was ah quitea surprise.

Just saw your post P-man
Never realised they ever had an election for a cor, worth a shot then if they let us.
Aakhperkare,
I'm honored that you consider me to be a candidate.
If the CU had not happened, I'd put my name in. CH is the only profession I'd consider being a correspondent for.
But I am utterly disgusted by the CU, both for the way it has changed the game, and the misleading and dishonest way it was bait and switched on the correpsondents and the alpha testers. I would probably last about 30 seconds after my first post in the correspondent forum.
Because I feel, very strongly, that most of the developers hold the players in contempt, and SOE/LA management does without a doubt.
As a CH, I am outraged at the transformation of creatures from unique entities with their own advantages and disadvantages in combat into angry bags that have no personality, which hand out damage not based on any inate qualities they might have, but on the basis of the level of the player they're attacking. Graul Maulers hitting me for 92 points sealed the deal in this regard. I might as well have been fighting a durni skin. This raises my ire in ways I cannot fully express in words.
SWG was intended to be a virtual reality. Now it's a kriffing elf game knockoff. It's not what I signed up for. The magic is gone. The game has fundamentally changed, for the worse, to the boring formula of the level based MMORPG.
When my accounts run out, I won't renew. Not unless the entire level system is dumped in the garbage and the executives and seniordevelopers responsible for it aregiven their walking papers. Which will not happen until this game folds.
Well I been around as a CH since August of '03.
Have always mulled ove the idea of being a corr. Might just toss my hat in the ring once the Dev's post a thread.
But I have a suggestion: boycott having a correspondent at all.
Face it -- in this process, none of the CH's major concerns during the Beta of the C.U. were addressed and we were left in an information vacuum. What good did having a correspondent really do us? We still have no idea whether pet Specials are broken or working 'as designed' because our correspondent couldn't coax an answer out of the dev team. The pet conversion process is so murky and poorly understood it might as well be alchemy. What combat level does your pet function at when grouped? We have half a dozen different answers and none of them are authoritative.
Frankly at this point I say make Thunderheart act as CH correspondent for six months so he can see how the other half lives .... no paying customer should have to put up with so much B.S. for so little information in return.

and myself. I intend to throw my name in, I have a pretty good feel for how the program works after having done the Alpha test, and I'd love the chance to try and do more for CH.

5. Enigma

That is awful nice of ya, however I dont have the time and I am probably the most irritating person here, also I have no empathy for the feelings of others, I would be Hitler.
That is very nice though man.
Thanks for the welcome back P9M. I'm having a great time. ![]()
Thank you for the considerations. I'm humbled.
I won't be posting in the election thread. It's not that I don't want the position. It's that I'm just not the kind of person to try and promote myself that way. I'd feel uncomfortable offering myself for such a position. If offered I would probably give it a try, but it's a big undertaking.
The main thing I always wanted from a correspondent was honesty and forthrightness. Silence is not golden on the CH forums. I hope whoever gets the position realizes this and has the guts to stand up for all of us instead of being the cold shoulder when questions are asked. I've felt like we just weren't being heard in the past. The correspondent should be an active member of the forum. This means posting on a daily basis and being a part of the discussions. I also feel like the correspondent needs to come out and answer one way or another if they know the answer. If they don't, then they should come to the forum and say they don't know. The best the correspondent can do is refer the information on to the devs and wait for feedback. If they don't receive feedback at least they could come on the forums and say so instead of the silent treatment. In my opinion, if a correspondent doesn't have the time or the guts to say what needs to be said in the forums and to the devs then what are they there for? And the biggest thing---don't lie to us. Tell us the truth. Be forthright and honest and be here to give us the answers--even if the answer is "I don't know yet". That's what I expect from a correspondent, and I hope whoever gets the position keeps that in mind. A correspondent should not be a silent keeper of the peace. And that's what I've been seeing all this time. The correspondents seem to take on an unspoken thing that it's taboo to give a straight answer or be a part of the community. I don't know if it's the devs or what, but wouldn't you rather quit as correspondent than be controlled by the devs? If the devs want that kind of whipping boy for their correspondent then it's not worth it to even be one. It's not being true to the people that play the game. That's how I feel about it. And I hopethe new correspondenttakes these things into consideration when they get the position.

The CH corr should have the attitude of "lead or follow, but GET THE HELL OUTTA MY WAY".

I love this, I would like to declare this as the CH Motto!!
LOL, Thanks Pluto for the compliment.
I agree with Talon, I actually would pick you as a cor is a second. You are honest to a fault and If you said "trust me" I would. But talons right you would be excomunicated in seconds lol. thats part of the reason I don't think I would cut it as cor also besides my leaving in sept. One emotional outburst from me and I'd be booted out the door lol.
