You said it.

I think the current devs do not understand the original design philosophy, which for all its bugs, whatever else you want to say about it, was made to create a whole player-run WORLD. Now, instead, what they're doing is switching to a computer-run world that we exist in, instead of one we run as well. And that's sad... lots of other games have computer-run worlds.

How long do you think it'll be before, with no docs left in med centers, they take wounds out of the game? My prediction is, that's next... pub 23 at latest.

C

Why have a Doc when most will be Jedi and can heal self

because #1, not all Jedi can do that, to do that costs many mane skill points that need to be spent on the ability to defend ones self or the ability to wield a lightsaber.

Because #2, doctors, combat medics and even BASIC medics are more efficient healers than jedi.

Will they take wounds out of the game? Most likely.

As far as the original plan for the game, yah it was a great plan, but it failed miserably. Let me give you an example: Yesterday, upon signing in I wanted to make some props. But I had no basic crafting tool. So I had to spend the next two hours messing around trying to find a

BASIC CRAFTING TOOL, In real life, where other peoplemakeeverything, like they wanted for SWG, I can go to my local store and get a hammer, chisel and tweezers for about 15 dollars. In SWG, I had to run around for two hours from shop to shop, and ended up paying 50,000 credits for a basic tool, and about 700k for materials because no one sells it in small amounts anymore.

The difference is players in SWG don't have children and mortages and credit card debt in game, so they can charge stupid prices for things and if it doesn't sell, oh well, they can go out and do something fun anyway. In real life all the boring crap that we take for grated is done by someone who, given the choice, would MUCH rather be out doing something fun.

The idea of a player driven world can only work with an economical cap, and actual repercussions for failure to perform one's duties. And if they did that, the game would be less and less fun for everyone.

Try asking your friendly neighborhood Tailor for resources for props. The resources needed to craft props are the same ones that any decent Tailor is bound to be well supplied with. Also, if you're having trouble finding a generic crafting tool, a Tailor can probably help you with that as well. You can also use a Weapon, Droid, and Generic crafting tool, or if you can juggle some skill points around, take Novice Artisan and you'll be provided with one for a mere 100 credits.

I blame the Devs for their lack of action when we needed it most, and I blame the playerbase for loving all of those lame bots.

Our only hope now is that the Devs give us elite level benefits sometime this year, to maybe let us have a place in this game again.

Until then, being a Master Dancer or Musicianholds little to no value to the community, outside of looking nice and sounding good.

Yeah, that's worth $15 per month...

That's why I finally gave up and did a char transfer on my master dancer/entertainer/id/musician toon. Since the account I play the most on is my jedi/base buster, it wasn't worth paying an additional $15 a month just to have my 'kick back and relax' toon on a different account. Now I have both toons on the same acct. dif servers and no need to give SOE more money for it.

I can't wait for the devs to finally wake up and fix the entertainer professions. I was so excited to hear they were finally putting in the rest of the exotic flo's after 2 years.. only to log in and see that all they did was give thethe exotics the exact same flo's. (and I use to enjoy doing exotic 3 and 4 just because the 0040 dancer next to me couldn't do the same flo's.)

So much for getting love from the dev's this patch. So what if we got some new lag toys. I want my dances fixed! I want a purpose! Give me a reason to play my entertainer for more than a couple hours a week!

Not being a no0b I tried both of those things.

There were no crafters that I could find, and I don't know if it's a stealth nerf or a bug, but when I went novice artisan, I did not get the novice tools (the generic crafting tool and the mineral survey tool)

It all worked out in the ends 'cause I was able to make tools for the other dancers in the band so it was kool!

My point is if the system was working the way they envisioned it on pencil and paper, I wouldn't have had to go that far.

I am a mixx profession master ancer master pikeman and i still see myself as completly useless for the simple fact i hate combat except forthe rae occasion im in a bad mood and need to beat something to a bloody pulp or when i want to hang out with a certain friend. we should be able to be pure anything or a ix or whatever we want and still be usefull in this game the damn box saysspecilize or be a jack of all trades. I'm not too far from wat one friend of mine did quitting having a mod perma ban me and snapping my install disks in half so i never have the temptation to come back.

droidb, why do u put the blame on jedi for your situation? does every failure of this game relate to jedi...is that the easy way to say, "well the devs wont read this but if i blame jedi they will?" you know jedi watched you just like every other proffesion...why not blame artisans, they dont get much battle fatigue so they must not have tipped u alot because they rarely need you.

this is why because artisans didnt hologrind or fs grind thru dancer or require mind buffs 24/7 on demand where they want them the start of jedi aka holocrons led to afkbotts which led to the whole viscious cycle of disprespecting entertainers and seeing them as worthless also it's the jedi and other leet ocmbat dudes who see us a a useless time sink most hybred crafter combat folk dont mind having to get bf healed they realize theres more to life than 24/7 combat and there are other people in the game.

Entertainer disrespect began at launch, which, as you may remember, was before anyone kew how to unlock Jedi. Any day one entertainer veteran will remember these words: "What are you gonna do about it?". We didn't get respect because we couldn't fight back. Period.

Now you want to go ahead and descriminate against Jedi for that poor excuse for a reason, you can take it up with me, 'cause I'm a Jedi, and I didn't AFK my way through ANY profession to achieve it.

Therefore, when you judge an entire class of people that you don't know over somthing they may or may not have done, you just rethink it 'cause now you're stepping on MY toes.

Its not jedi who are plamed per say.. its the Hologrind that is blamed.. Peopel whating to become Jedi, once they realized that they needed to master alot of professions desided to master Dancer, and Musician first because they where(are) the onlyprofessions that can be Mastered Completly AFK.

The Hologrinders were probably the ones who figured out how to afk completly, and then with the intro duction of mind buffs, they shaired their knowlage of AFK with others, and the BuffBot was born...

Yes but that's the problem. People looking for scapegoats.

There was disrespect and AFKers before the hologrind, and there were AFKers and disrespect after the hologrind. Therefore it stands to reason that the hologrind was not the problem. Therefore it would stand to reason that if we could identify the problem, we could fix it.

Unfortunately while it is quiker and easier to pass the blame to a convienient scapegoat, it is not productive, as evidence by the Entertainer's current position.

Not sure if you know about this since you say you ran from shop to shop for 2 hours... but if you use "search by vendor location" and then "search entire galaxy" you can get a listing of all the registered vendors and then tailor your search as you normally would on the bazaar terminal. It saves a lot of foot time going from shop to shop and helps you find the best prices being offered. Also, don't know about your server but most artisans I work with who are selling resources will be happy to split off smaller amounts. You just have to ask them since on their vendor they are going to be in large stacks because their primary customer base is looking for large stacks. But the global vendor search is a definite time saver. I used to get so frustrated shuttling all over the place only to find the vendor empty or stocked with a looted mangy vest or something equally vile.
