So... you're saying there SHOULD be something for handling droids?

If I understand you right, I'm not sure I agree. A tank's a tank in my book, meat or metal. But still, the DE's need some fun too. They've had it rough.

My only fear is that our meatshields usefulness will go the way of our mounts, but I don't REALLY expect that to be a problem.

My suggestion has nothing to do with giving CH more power. "Creature" Handlers would have to choose between 70 levels of droids or 70 levels of creatures, or any combination of the two.

what part of OR dont you understand?

Pistoleer (master) Creature Handler (master)
Commando (0,0,4,0) Smuggler (1,0,1,4) Bounty Hunter (0,0,0,4)
Droid Engineer (master) Bio Engineer (master)

I think they should get the driod handler profession for sure and as a signing bonus the ability to buff themselves and their pets but the buffs should give +6000 to every stat.

I think maybe there should be some force powers thrown in as well that allow them 100% percent resists to all.

LMAO

Hmm... must be eloquent... Go call your level 70 bio engineered monstrosity that can kill nigh everything in one shot and posion them in the process and leave us alone. We want a cret system to work something like this:

1) Low lvl droids = novice basic profession

2) Med lvl droids = novice elite profession

3) High lvl droid = master elite profession

all professions, not just ch's or the absurd "dh" (it has AI, it does what its master tells it to do).

I have no such CL 70 pets.

This is never going to fly. You've just dumbed down all combat in swg by a factor of 2. When aplayer Xcan solo mob Y, with a degree of difficulty Z, add in a equivalent freebie droid of the same CL as the player... Player X+combat droid can solo Y with a degree of difficulty Z-combat droid for free.

In other words, you all need to think of something the devs are going to agree to, and thats a DH profession in one form or another.

Get over it.

Ok, maybe "UBER" was not the proper phrase.

My point is...I don't want to see more CH-like profession members running rampant. I am SICK of seeing CH every time I turn around. It surely does not have as big a part in Star Wars as it currently does.

In the movies, I ONLY recall 3 instances where a CH would be necessary, but I saw tons of Droids...being controlled by many different people. Not one class of individuals WHOONLY knew how to control droids. They were used by Vader, they were used by Farmers, they were used by the Hutts (smugglers), they were used merchants, they were used by cantina's to serve drinks, they were used by the rebellion forces. Droids should NOT be a sole profession requiring their use. As in the examples for their use I have given you here, they SHOULD compliment one's profession by adding to that person's profession, not making the ability to control them that person's profession.

Besides, who wants to see a clone of CH running around controlling droids instead of creatures?! It would be a Ch with a different graphic on screen for their creature.

And unlike creature handlers where their pets are ONLY used for combat, Droids should be available for a wide-range of uses as droids can be programmed to do any type of task.

If combat droids are just going to be pets with different graphics and the Devs's seem to only want this then you might as well.

I mean why the heck would you want to copy the BE/CH only with droids?Heck you might as well completely eliminateall pets and just make them droids instead, more starwarsy. If combat droids are going to be the same freaking thing I will be dissapointed and think you might as well throw them in CH. It is not any dumber than making a DH profession. It would just be adding metal pets to CH.

Heck they might as well merge Droid Engineer and Bio Engineer then too. This would really suck too and is barely better than making a droid handler profession.

Ah, heck, just give em to chef's... it makes as much sense as the new system.

Unless they can load up factories, switch out schematics, tend to harvs, etc... no thanks.

Droid Engineers please offer feedback, is this acceptable to you or not? Acceptable with changes or not at all?

Not at all

Add "Droid Handling" skills to the current Creature Handler tree.

Creature Handlers and Droids would then be subject to the current CL 70 limit and 3 pet limit of the CH class. All pet commands and abilities would then apply to droids. The Creature Handler would have to choose his combination of droids and pets to meet the CL 70 or 3 pet restrictions. Droid CL control limitations would scale the same as it already does in the CH tree for creatures.

BioEngineer and Droid Engineer would then remain pure crafting professions that support Creature Handlers for high end combat pets. They can then support the rest of the populace with low end combat and utility droids/creatures.

Let me ask you this: Would you be caught dead playing either a Bio Engineer or a Droid Engineer? Do you like the idea of "supporting" another class with items you cannot use, but can create from scratch? Do you think any of that sounds like "balance"?

Droid handling doesn't really take special talents, but if for some reason it made sense to add Engineering 4 to the prerequisite for "Creature" Handler, then that could be another possibility to raise the Skill point cost.

You had it right when you said that Droid Handling doesn't require special talents. Let me tell you what also makes "SWG sense". Making the prerequisite for Droid Handling be Survey IV. Makes as much sense as requiring scouting abilities in order to use high-tech machines that employ artificial intelligence.

This would be easier to code for the devs, no additional profession required. It also follows the current system of BE and CH interdependency.

And where does it say that it is arequirement or necessity for making it easy on the Devs is any concern of mine? Making good games is hard. Making crappy games is hard too, but they don't have a play life of years. Also, I doubt anyone is happy with the "BE and CH interdependency", if you ask them directly and they havehad any direct involvement with either profession.

It also keeps Droid Engineers a crafting class rather than a hybrid combat class, which is what the majority of DE prefer.

Leave it to DE's to decide whatDE's prefer. If you actually read everything we post, instead of the Dev spin on what we post, you would know better. I don't come up in your forum and start telling you what you guys want to do with your profession.

It also solves the potential future nerfage to having 70 levels of creatures out and 70 levels of droids out at the same time.

This is hilarious. As if having 70 levels of droids out at the same time is somehow bought with your skill point expenditure over something else. And save your prerequisite skill math lecture. You have to know deep down that itis true.
