For the love of christ, will you give it a rest?

First, you go to a planet which the devs have stated numerous times isnt balanced. Then you draw dozens of prophetic and spurious conclusions from those flawed results.

Tamed pets have no stats? I guess Ill have to reiterate this until people get it into their thick skulls: If you see something that looks wrong, dont come and complain about it on the forums, SUBMIT A BUG REPORT.

Commandos were up in arms because none of their weapons had skill-box tied certs. Bug. Pikemen complained that the LVA was certed in Commando. Bug. You get where Im going with this? It's a beta test for a reason, when you see something wrong you put in a bug report you dont come to the forums and make gigantic false assertions based on the problem.

I post on your threads to make sure that nobody believs your baseless rantings. We have enough people running around comdemning the CU who've not tested it, played it or even seen it, and are just believing posters like yourself who seem to delight in throwing common sense out the window and turning every bug you find into the end of SWG.

jopenack did you even summit a bug report? the least you could do if you are determined to leave is help out your fellow CH's who will actually be staying

Critter I did submit report and answeredthe questionare at the end

edited = and I have submitted bug reports the whole time while on TC,

Critter I will not be leaving anytime soon as I posted before the auto-enroller caught me with my pants down, I'm here till september since no refunds are policy of SOE. I did have the auto-enroller shut off when I called them by phone. How much I play is yet to be determined.

I have done what I believe was my part to help the community,

unlike others whoare selfish and continually trytrolling because they dislike personalities.

For anyone who cares or doesn't know this, Gadon dislikes me because in under 5 days he insulted, flamed, and tried to humiliate several old and new people on this forum. I defended them and pointed out his flaming isn't usually condoned on the ch forums. He believes its the jedi forums I think lol.

Since then he shoots whatever he can in my direction (and a few others) because he simply doesn't like me.

Oh well. sooner or later he may realise we don't have to all like eachother. but respecting an opinion whether negative, positive, in agreement or disagreement is what we all have tried to do here for as long as I can remember posting.Myself and the majority of people here in the ch forum have never sunk so low as to insult people, then when confronted with it start trolling peoples threads who wedisliked.

Editedwith a nice bright color for effect lol

Sorry joker...but uhm CH is actually combat SUPPORT come CU. Doesnt matter if you deny it or not It becomes a combat prof when you pick up weapon skills which will not be needed come CU because it is group based PvE. And I played a MCH on CU and i could actually just sit around and watch pet fight while i used berserk/embolden. Sorry to burst your bubble but what you think and what the devs think is very diffrent

Creature Handlers are the ultimate in combat versatility. While they have no innate combat capabilities of their own they are able to fulfill almost any needed role as long as they have a pet with the necessary abilities.

Hmm looks like the Devs and I are on the same page on this one.

Im sorry if you didnt enjoy watching your pets fight, but just because you dont like it dosent mean its not combat

I'm a bit confused here myself. Endor is an unblanaced planet is it not? Wouldn't testing of pets and subsequent bug/issues work best when testing from the planets they told everyone to test from?

There are obvious bugs and the pet HAM bar is one of them. Such bugs should be reported in game and reported in the coorespondents bug reports so that they be concise and *hopefully* be addressed by the devs.Just being honest I don't think they would take the time if they had the time to wade through a page long rant to figure out what the problem is. they would obviously be more ept to read a concise run down on bugs and issues.

Now about the whole pets being combat or combat support.Joker already quoted the devs they are combat and should be able to play mutliple roles offensive/tank and some crowd control. However bugs stand in the way that must be worked out.My alt Oasisis a Master BE/ Master CH/ Novice carbineer on live and on TC. I expect the ability to make offensive pets as well as tanks with the CU. Hence I expect to be able to play a tank role or a dmg role.If when the bugs are worked out and this goes to live and that is not the case I feel the Cu will have fallen short of its potential in respect of the CH profession. However, they still have time to iron out some of these issues so hopefully they will get it done though the clock seems to be against them at this point.

Anyway carry on.

I am a firm believer that we are a combat 'support' class as well. If it were not for my combat side, most of my fights would have had me wind up in the nearest cloner. Yes, pets can be buffed, but once stored, it goes away. So, unless a person travels with a MD, it really is not much of a viable option. I have read where people say they take out low to mid level things. What is a 'mid' level opponent? When does it shift from 'mid' lvl to 'high' lvl? What happens to that player when they are walking on Dath and a NightSister aggroes them? How is thier sole CH 'combat' self going to do? How about an enraged ranc? those guys LOVE to break my mask scent. Rhoa Kwi Guardians and Pack Leaders like to break my mask scent all the time also, how about those guys? Not everything works out as it is supposed to.

This is too much of an imperfect profession to be considered a sole combat profession.

-my T21 does not start shooting at swirl prongs

-I can switch between my T21 and my Jawa DURING combat

-I do not have to wait to bring out my Jawa or to store it after combat

-I can bring out my Jawa whenever I want, before combat, during combat, after combat, in a medcen, in my home.

-My Jawa does not disappear for no reason

I can do specials with my Jawa to: change posture/dizzy/stun, along with doing an excess of 4k dam with Straffshot2. Pet specials stick less frequently, and I have yet to see a pet do 4k damage. I am by no means suggesting I want a pet to do 4k damage along side me, but the amount they do is no where near what a PC combatant can do.

When Iadvancedto Master Pistoleer, it was easy to find my DE-10s. As a Master Creature Handler, I am still looking for pets above level 50. I can spend hours and hours searching for a pet that a MCH should be able to get theirhands on. I do not mind areasonable search, but should I spend all my time on it?

Regardless of what the Devs say, it is the players who actually see what goes on in the game. I have read where it says we are in the 'combat' profession just like everyone else here did. The thing that got me was, when I read our role, it was rather vague. It is as if they really did not what to do with us, so they said everything will be determined by our pet. Versitility with what kind of role? determined by our pet. We are not considered tanks, TK's. We are not considered damage dealers, Rifleman. We are not considered crowd controld, Pistols. Again, everything is determined by our pet. A system with numerous flaws in it to begin with. With the way the system currently is, I can determine how best to assess the situation and change my tactics with the flow of battle. CH does NOT have that option. I am unable to switch out pets during combat. The only damage pets do is kinetic, as a rifleman, I can choose between acid/energy/stun. When I was a Pistoleer, I could choose between acid/energy/stun/heat/kinetic. Pets are kinetic. The only states that pets can apply are those they might have. As a Rifleman, I have a variety of states I can choose from, these stick much more often than that of my pets.

I went into the Spiderclan cave the other day with a guildee. None of my pets would follow me in there. Not ONE single pet went in there. Tried the 'follow me' command, they would stop at the entrance, tried to store and summon them in the cave and it would not let me, it gave me a message, basically saying I could not do it. If it were not for my rifleman side, I would have been of no use. I went into the Force Wielder cave on Dant with a guildee, ONE of my two pets went in there, the other one was 50M away, somewhere. With this in mind, how is CH an effective sole combat profession? I have seen my pet Rancor get incapped on Lok by Pirates. A single group of pirates brought him down to zero. As a Master Scout, I tried throwning traps at creatures I am in combat with. Maybe I need more research, but I do not recall seeing Kamurith defilers/snappers/rancors being too impressing with them because the states never took. We all know against NPC's, PC's traps are not effective. Not effective as in, they do NOT work.

With the limitations we have, as a sole combat profession, think about it.

- max lvl 70. only a handful of creatures are 51-65. Those that are 51-65 take a LOT of searching to find. BE creatures are a far better deal than ANY wild creature. An AT-ST is, what? 125?

-aggro bug

-disappear bug

-timer for bringing them out before combat and timer for storing them after combat

-unable to bring them out during combat

-i have seen pets get stuck in combat with a foe that was already dead (i.e. still be in combat with nothing), and get stuck in mountains on Lok. Only way to fix that was to shuttle off world and they were fine.

All those bugs are crippling for a sole combat profession. If they want to call me a combat profession, fine, but make it a far more viable one.

-give me more pets to choose from.

-make some of the higher level ones easier to find

-increase the lvl we can get.

-fix the bugs

-do MORE

-preferable, increase damage.

I would gladly accept a huge increase in sp for these things. If it meant that a person would only be a MCH and not have enough to be another combat profession, then I would gladly do it.

Don't get me wrong, CH is a great profession, I have a blast with it. They have helped me out in more PVE encounters than I can recall, even with some of the limited PVP, they have helped out tremendously, but if it were not for me having Pistols, then Rifles, the outcomes would have been another story.

When the new system goes live, the thought of pets being 'tanks' will go out the window. The hate system will draw the aggro from the target to the highest damage dealer, unless a player 'tank' successfully 'taunts' it. I have heard not a word about pets getting a 'taunt' ability.

Well, I finally got on and tried out the froggies. Went MCH/MPistols/left over medic since that was my early CH template and I have a good idea of what worked and what didn't back in the day. I wanted to see how two professions seemingly 'nerfed and useless' for so long would benefit from the CU....

First of all, I couldn't find a single baby to train so I had to play with the mounts from the frogs. I didn't want to take the risk or time to attack a random lair and spawn one, and there weren't any already out and wandering around, no matter where I went. So I figured by grouping him up to my level, he'd at least not get 1-hit killed. So while he generally went down in only a few hits, I was still able to tell that even shooting a mob once was enough to get the aggro on me and there was nothing I could do to switch it back onto the pet.

Combat is slow, tedious, and frustrating right now, pets or no. Things heal at too fast a rate, and most of my specials are not damage-dealing but other random stuff (states, rooting, whatever). So I now have to wait on 1-2 specials to cool down and warm up in order to do any damage.

"Close range crowd control" with a pistoleer is a joke. What's the point of being able to root something in place or knock it down if it comes after youafter a 10 sec delay or just hops right up? Fights against creatures half my leveltook3-5 minutes(if you don't die in the first 30 secs, that is)! While I'm slowly whittling down one creature's health, the other just comes right back into the fight 10 secs later, whether I hit it ornot. And there's nothing more demoralizing than seeing you get their health down to 50% after a minute and a half just to see it pop back to full in one sec.

All in all, very frustrating.

Novraock, I went to endor because its my favorite taming place

I didnt go there to test combat. I love most anything that has a baby there, and as you can see I got a few pets in a short time. I only went after the gorax for the heck of it lol

They have fixed the visual aspect of seeing stats that creatures have, well not all but some

My opinions were based on everyhting I have experienced not just the other day.

As kitoth above states pets creatures npc's are healing at an advanced rate right now which makes any testing very hard as far as combat goes.

As a mch i just went out and tamed. the planets aren't really relevent as far as balancing goes for taming, if its tamable and you see a baby you shouuld be able ti hit the ole tame button and thats what I did.
