ur also forgetting that pvp is only at -25% dmg redcution on the test servers and willr eturn to -75% when it goes lives. so there goes taht statement

I feel the same way about the new sytem and shall not be here long


I also shall be emailing Lucas Arts on the community service and communication problems that have gone on here since launch.


As I said before the demographic they are targeting is not me, its time to move on.


I always enjoyed lurking this forum, many nice people. and usually no flamers, but it would seem as though the curb brought the riff raff in from other forums

Do you have confirmation of this statement? I know that's how it is now, but after CU it might be different

You are basing your assumptions on a TEST SERVER for one thing, and if you would READ before you posted you would notice that only Level 1-50 creatures on 5 planets - the 3 starter planets, Rori and Talus are balanced so far. Endor is not, obviously.


None of this stuff will even hit live for another 3 weeks, so there is plenty of time to tweak, comment, and adjust on it. Quitting now before everything has had a few passes of fixes, balances and adjustments is premature.


I hated the CU a few weeks ago, but I have watched it progress. I have seen the devs adjust, change, balance, tweak, fix, alter and umpteen other things to hundreds of games systems. They'll keep doing this at a rapid pace. They do read these threads, even if they don't comment due to all the grief people pile on them if they do post.


Yes, I'm scared these generic pets will be the norm, but I also find it hard to believe they would do that to us. I am hoping it was just an algorithmic error and/or initial pass. That's why there are 'Conversion Bug Threads' You need to point out the change in stats and why they do not seem correct. Suggest what you think they should be for balance. I wasn't expecting to do more damage than other professions, were you? That's what got us nerfed the first two times - remember? This is the most complex game ever made, and it's being completely revamped - did you expect everything to be to your liking immediately? Gimme a break!


If you want to whine about a BETA test game on a Test Serveras if it were Live, maybe you should quit testing altogether. I see nothing constructive in your posts, no suggestions - just 'I QUIT'


Ya know, I'm sick of reading 'I QUIT' - I just wish all the quitters would and shutup. I'm going back in to TEST, comment, suggest and watch things continue to change each day. I may not always be positive, but I do know how to constructively criticize and get the information to the Devs they need.

There are three classes or were in the game even though alot of players wanted to cram it into two.


There are combats.

There are crafters.

There are combat support.


Combats obviously combat.

Crafters obviously craft.


Combat support on the other hand is totally different. See a combat support can participate in combat and yet not actually be in combat. A medic a squadleader a doctor are all combat support. Their skills augment the combats role, but these players do not actually need to lay a hand against an enemy. A SL can stand behind a wall a doctor can do the same.


CH is actually a combat support, and to hell with anyone who claims different. A CH can sick a pet on a kimo or a krayt and sit down have something to eat and drink a little wine. All the while not actually fighting. Just like a doctor can just walk around useing resurection packs, and as long as the walk is wide enough in relative safety. Out of curiosity I decided one day to right up what the combat support classes all were.


Medic/scout/ch/sl/ranger/doctor.


Alot of people get all fussy and say or scream I am a combat profession when in truth they are not. It all boils down to a simple question and it is this. Do you actually have to endanger your character to fulfill your function in combat. If the answer is no your a combat support. Being combat support is also not a crime. A medic heals bleeding a doctor heals disease a ranger searches out targets a squad leader enables group bonuses, and a ch provides a ready supply of disposable tanks, and yes early on in the game I saw chs doing just this. Sending wave after wave of pets into a mob.


Early on most players actually valued this. Hell without this alot of ranged fighters would have died more often then they did. One critter breaks on you and you keep passing through a pet till the npc switched up to the pet. CH was and never should have been considered a combat class. Its combat support. Its a skill that doubles over a combat skill, but can be used as an easy out to actual combat.

too bad your comments are mad moot by the fact the designers themselves have now said they encourage stacking professions.


Also that woudl hold water if they didn't make our pets useless in PvP which I hate to break it to you is COMBAT. So I agree, give our pets full abilities AND FIX THEM and then I will gladly use them as weapons and sit back in battle. Until then this is not a valid argument. Not your fault it isn't, not trying to upset you or say you are wrong. You are not, but in it's present incarnation does not fit this discription.

The answer to your question is yes, im sure much to your surprise. Try sending a pet up against a krayt or whatever, wait the 20 seconds or so it takes to chew your pet to pieces, and watch the joy of the CH proffesion agro rules magically make whatever you attacked with a pet agro YOU now once the pet is dead! It might even agro you right off the get go unless you spam peace and get farther away, especially with NPC. Oh sure, even after pet death things won't always agro you, but generally they sure have on me, and considering how bugged creature agro and such is right now it's all up to odds whether we have to fight or not. It certainly would of been my choice plenty of times to run off and let my pets keep tanking that nightsister while I run away, but did the NS leave me alone once my pets all died? Most certainly not.....


And before you say that im goingto heck like you promise all people who disagree with your idea, Im afraid your going to have to force me there yourself, because im not going anywhere but heaven thank you very much


Oh and on rangers, let me ask you this, how do people get creature resources without actually fighting anything? That is what your idea entails, they have a whole tree on harvesting things that they can't use without fighting something, they certainly can't walk up tocreatures and ask them pretty please to give them their hide....

Hmm............it sounds like you have played CH in a very very long time. Whenever I send a pet us against a krayt I always have to fight no matter what unluss I tun into my house then all that accomplishes is losing vitality points on a pet

Sure a doc can walk around using rez packs and not be in danger, and a rifleman can walk around using a rifle as long as the tanks are doing there jobs. So whats your point?

Yes. Pet dies and I get attacked plain in simple. Heck now even docs are combat classes by your standards cause healing one of the tanks will cause the MOB to build up hate against you (which means you ARE putting yourself in danger). Sorry joker...but uhm CH is actually combat SUPPORT come CU. Doesnt matter if you deny it or not It becomes a combat prof when you pick up weapon skills which will not be needed come CU because it is group based PvE. And I played a MCH on CU and i could actually just sit around and watch pet fight while i used berserk/embolden. Sorry to burst your bubble but what you think and what the devs think is very diffrent



If at first you dont succeed...Cry to the devs to nerf whatever you tried to kill...

right now im also a mch/tkm, and givne i tank for my pets isntead of tmhe tanking for me (my pets support me in a figh,t i take the agro i dela msot of th edmaage, my pets apply stats(adn dots) and will take agor for me if i get swamped giving me a change to heal up and retake the agro before they get to damaged (and ive been known to sacrifice myslef to save my pets on severla occasions wnhe things got bad)

im a mch/tkm, and im combat im the disposable tnak not my pets
