elneckio,
My problem is that people left for a reason. Maybe they could not stomach the changes. But it should not be a free pass back. Now if they can program the game to recognize Master Badges and give a 25% XP bonus, it would be a great compromise.
Well,I disagree. They left by their own choice. They had justifiable motives for doing so, albeit in their own minds, if nothing else. If they want to return, they should earn it. If anything, it will exemplify how much they truly want to be CHs again.

It took you longer than a month then. I did it from July to October. And at least 5 boxes came from group hunts on adventure planets.
Just because you were slow doesn't mean I was. There were up to 20 harvesters I was taking care of and surveying for. I just attacked everything I saw along my way (which was a lot back when we had to walk everywhere), letting my pets land one hit each, then finishing them off myself. It took me about 2.5-3 weeks to make my way to where I could have two pets out at a time and then I finished the rest off in a week or so. I went on a couple of bigger hunts on Dath, but they were more of an exception than the rule - the harvesters kept me too busy to group much which is why I picked up CH in the first place.
I'm sure it didn't hurt that I was playing 10-12 hours on the days I worked and closer to 16-20 on the days I had off, but even then, it was the profession I mastered the fastest out of all those I tried.

Thats an excellent idea. If you previously mastered a proffesion, it would make sense you could re-master it much easier. That's even good from RP perspective.
My 12 year old nephew plays SWG and he got into JTL beta (via his dads account). The other day he said to me, "Hey why dont they just put these blue frog terminals in the live game? it would be awesome!" I wanted to choke him. lol
yeah can ya tell this hits a nerve with the skuzzman?
Yes we screwed up design issues which now a year later we understand and can fix. When we do it might break what you currently have but because it's an issue we are forcing on you, we will let you realocate your hard work and keep playing what you want to play.

The Dev's in Galaxies are profoundly punitive in the design of the game. This is reflected in the less than stellar showing of the game compaired to other MMOs. Let's face it, Lucas and Star Wars are the reason this game still has a fan base that keeps it functioning.
I bash them often enough and I quit AC when they let players sell points back for new ones.
In this case I think it's the only reasonable thing to do and since we all know some people will leave when it's done anyway, This is a good call.
I hope the old days of bragging about impending armor nerfs and player nerfs are gone and a company who honestly cares about making the players happy is stepping in to fill the void left behind.
Make the game fun, reward people for playing it, give players game content other than forced pvp and we will see the populations climb back up.
