/summon is a fun command that you can goof around with, roleplay with and - if you've had enough fun for the time being - completely negate with /tellpet stay. I know that this is Star Wars Galaxies and I appreciate that anything which breaks the illusion that you are supreme lord and master of your little world is an "exploit" and anything that reminds you that other players are not peons working solely to make you happy is "griefing" but really, if you are a "creature handler" and you don't know how to tell your pet to follow you then you get what's coming to you.

I agree completely.. This is a lesson to CH's that our pets are our friends, not our slaves, and they have their own little personalities and quirks (I've taken 4 or 5 of the same pets and trained them and then will name them accordingly). They may also show a sense of curiousity and follow someone who summons them, but will always return to you and obey you. As for droids, well "if droids could think, we'd none of us be here." I believe is the quote. But yeah, I think seeing a band of droids chasing someone would be hilarious... I'll sometimes pick a random person running by and tell my pet to chase them, let the pet chase them for about 10 seconds so as to not get annoying and then store the pet.

One more thing, to all CH out there, please be kind and not have your Fambaa or Huf Dun out in the Anchorhead Tavern or any other small room that is accessible to the public. That is just plain rude.
By the way, the droid army thing would have been fun to at least see.
Hi
Please do not accuse meof putting my pet(s) out in the places you state above i find that very rude, not all CH players are inconsiderate as you state above

They should fix this so that the summoner is 1 hit mind incapped by the pet/droida lot like stormtroopers do when you /emote them when you are lower ranked.

(the above is quoted, as I cannot use quote on this Netscape4 machine)

Sorry, I don't think I accused you of anything. I simply stated a reminder. I also did not state all CH players are inconsiderate.
I only stated that by having a pet out in a small public room, like a Fambaa or Huf Dun where you can see nothing but those pets, is rude.
I was implying nothing towards you or the majority of the CH out there. Well unless of course you do this, but since I have no idea who you are in game, I don't think I could imply this directly at you

Yeah, I keep attempting to get an answer to this issue, and have been stressing its urgency. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

A while ago - just before "THE GREAT CH NERF", there was talk of the Dev's secret plot. The cynics supposed that the Devs had a secret agenda to make the CH class so undesirable that noone would want to be one. Then they could remove the class, and noone would care.
They failed to account for the devotion some players had for their pets (I was not one of those, I dropped CH, and am just now coming back to it after giving up on the hologrind). For some reason these people kept using pets as weapons, even when they would have been more powerful as a buffed melee class. Then the devs made vehicles very fast, and yet these people kept plodding along on their giant beasts.
Some conspiracy types might think that /summon was the latest attempt to seduce people away from the class. "Join the Dark Side - Throw away your weak pets, and become POWERFUL - armored, buffed, sword swinging machines of death. Throw away your pets, and become FAST - fly around the planet at speeds beyond your imagination. Throw away your pets, or you will become WEAK - as we allow everyone and their Ewok to call your pet away from you."
I am not saying I believe these things to be true, but....

Someone mentioned Odd little quarks and our pets not being slaves:
Droids are slaves, they should have restraining bolts that make sure their owner is the only one that can controll them.
As for pets getting curious and following someone:
I'd like a complete over haul of the system that would allow me to effectly punish my pet for doing such a thing. Eventually the pet will learn not to follow, or I'll get rid of him.
----------
Personally it seems a whole lot easier to me to just remove the /summon command. It's obviously being used to grief docs, CHs, etc. If you want to keep it in the game for what ever reason, then when its removed you can blame the griefers for abuse.
Seems simple to me.
