I brought this up again on the correspondent forum over the weekend. I'll request an update if I don't hear something soon.

I think all we can do now is REPORT the people who do this. It is obviously griefing and it can have a major effect on many players, including newbies and docs etc. So if you see someone doing it, report them to a CSR with city/name of player etc so at least they can hear our cries and know something is seriously wrong.

Hi
telling your pet to stay is not the problem solved, the MCH is the master of his pets and only him /her should be albe to control then not some stranger, so the problem is NOT solved untill they sort the BUG out...

See, the kicker is that it may not BE a bug. For all the feedback the Devs have given us, I don't know that the intent of /summon isn't actually to allow other players to "summon" our pets. As I pointed out earlier, there is no reason for it to be in the game.We don't need it as CH, so what's it purpose? There are no other CH commands that a non-CH can use, so I have to wonder how is it that /summon can be used by anyone. (Oh, geez, that sounded paranoid - please tell me I'm not becoming a conspiracy nut
)

It sounded pretty funny to me. Of course, if I were one of the pet/droid owners, it probably wouldn't seem so funny.

You can also make a macro
/tellpet <follow_command>;
then drag this macroa toolbar slot. Whenever someone tries to run off with your pet, you are all set to call them back.

Oddly enough, you're probably right: the /summon commandmayNOT bea bug. My guess is that the command was implemented to allow other players to "move" a pet when it gets in the way. For instance, if a CH summoned a pet on top of a ticket or mission terminal. This would explain why it hasn't been removed.
Thecynic in me saysthis hasn't been fixedbecause the devs can't think of a creative way to prevent grieving without removing the command.

I was about to board the shuttle at C-net today when I saw a shout bubble that said "Droid Army, attack!" Now this interested me, because no one can call more than one droid. as I was walking over to investigate, the person ran past me. He had several droids in tow. This person has "summoned" every droid in the C-net area. There were several n00b droids, and a couple a Binary Load Lifter that was add barking, and a Treadwell that was also add barking. It REALY annoyed me that this person was able to do this.
Not that I advocate the practice but that had to be pretty darn funny.

Glad I saw this.
I've posted a warning to Musicians and Dancers regarding this, so that their Entertainer Droids aren't lured away from them.
I'm sorry folks, this is awful - no one should ever be able to essentially yank your weapon out of your hand, leaving you defenseless.
As you can't call pets in combat, you CH's could get hit really hard with this, and it needs to be fixed ASAP in my opinion.
This is not cool.
