Thread: Vets 35 Million+ xp required to do your existing datapad True numbers
Why are so many people upset with this anyway?
News Flash: You don't HAVE to grind much ofanything. Thats your choice. If your grinding for abilities and such, its your decision.
Your pets, right now (unless your one of the ones with 3 of those silly female narls) are exactly as good as they were before this publish. The abilities will just make them better. You can very easily not grind at all. To first get the abilities, just keep your eyes open for babies around. You see one, tame it. Get lucky and get an ability, great.
Once you get a few pets with abilities, then you do the only grinding that you HAVE to do if you want abilities. Learn the abilities, and the grind is done until you get more babies that have abilities.
You don't have to grind your pets that your going to keep. Just use them. I assume if your going to keep them, and if your a CH, that you are using your pets. They'll gain ability slots and training points in due time.
Heck, you don't even have to do the whole ability thing. You can just pretend it never happened and go on being just as effective as you were pre-Pub21.

you know what I agree with you! I have been CH since day 1 of playing this game! And, I dont mind the new system at all - I welcome it. But, like so many for one I lost a few pets that were my "favorites" already! Due to the fact that I could not adjust their pet levels or stats. 
Now, the ones that are available to use I have to start over again - I mean the holo grinders got a few free slots right to purchase towards their FS tree didn't they?! Would have been nice for us to receive a few ability slots.
Which brings me to another question...I was under the impression each pet would already have an inate ability? I pulled a few pets out late nite and didn't see anything or I just overlooked...are the abilities listed in the "Other" tab under the Abilities window?

Just leave and do us all a favor. The is quite possibley the best CH patch we have ever had, and all you can do is complain that you don't get all the goodies for free. A bunch of "Creature Handler (cry baby)" is what I'm seeing. Your so called "veteran status" dosn't mean Jack or Squat. It dosn't entitle you to not have every update handed to you on a damn silver platter. When they make new armor they don't give every "veteran" a full suit for free.
Like every CH nerf/change a buch of loosers will walk out the door and a buch of new fresh folks will walk in, those of us that actualy like the profession will remain, and well be having fun taming pets and learning abbilities. I can only hope you fill find something you like complaining about just as much as CH.
Galacium when they implemented the new Jedi system they gave FREE slots to those that had beeen part of the old system (i.e. the Holo grind of proffs),
When they changed wookiee armor so that chest pieces could be split into 3 parts guess what? Those 3 pieces of armor got completely NEW stats and were completely better than before. My armor went from a cond of 1500/2500 to 50000/50000. Pretty nice for having to split it up inorder to use the cybrnetic arms (I am also a MRifleman as well as MCH).
ALL I was wanting for those of us with existing pets was for those pets to have some SLOTS opened already. Not any specials already in those slots. I just wanted to have those pets ready to accept the specials as I went out and learned them from new tames. That's all!
I like the new system they have implemented. It holds great promise. I like being able to go out and find new specials for my pets etc. etc. etc. Heck I tamed a CL1 Minor Wort last night and it had a L1 ability! LOL. SO I tamed a few more and found another with a diff L1 ability. Here I am a MCH out "hunting" with 2 CL1 Minor Worts in tow! LOL it was freaking hilarious and fun.
It would just have been nice to have been able to transfer those abilities over to my longtime pets, not that I would have given them a L1 ability but you get the picture.
BTW......the female nargs were not the only pet to get nerfed. My Great Plainss Stalker went from doing max damage 510 to max damage 398. Not sure I'll keep him anymore.

Also add....Every prt nerf they retroactively nerfed our pets.
It boils down to a huge grind that we have to do when we have been using these pets for a long time. And using them is what levels them

If you have valid points to make on either side then make them
You will bust your a$$ for this ability grind to create a unique companion that belongs to you. His vility is his/her life and once its gone, your pet is gone forever.
A player can just buy another powerful weapon or piece of armor, without jumping through hoops to get it. And if a player has an UBER weapon or item, they can just pop an ADK on them.
So after your mind turns to jelly grinding your pet to a level where you think he/she is superior, just rememeber...all that hard work was for nothing when it reaches 0 life and dies by the deathblow of a 1000+ damage rifle with an ADK on it!

The newer ch's will be grining their pets as they get ch xp.
We as vets have the mindless grind in all of this of creatures we have been using for a long time.
The taming for abilities and minor xp up to get them is content and fun.
I am getting sick of all these everthing is rosy dont whine posts. Our pets are as good as before the patch, right? Well guees what, my pets were gimped before and are still gimped. This "fix" for the specials does nothing to fix the specials my pets have. No I do not want anything for free. I want my working specials. They were taken away with the CU. The devs said they were going to fix this and maybe come out with even more new ones. I like the new system, but why cant i teach me existing, gimped before this patch because of the CU, pets the new specials as I learn them?????? If they had taken away all the armor stars in the game with the CU and told us to go find this great new armor. It might be fun to go find it. But are existing armor, which was broken and acknowledged as broken, , was not fixed and no reason was given, would you not be maybe just a little bit upset?? Im not saying I wouldnt be out there looking for this new cool armor. But what about the old armor that I worked so hard to get and had used??

I think you see the point that the Vets have been making. Too bad you do not understand the point.

I think its a matter of perspective. No one has a gun to your head saying "You must learn every abbilitty and max out every pet in your datapad! And you must have it finished by the end of the week!"
I take my time and I goof around and I play at whatever pace I darn well feel like. I've never been the baddest CH in the land and I don't realy care. I'm good and I know the profession well. I'm just as happy killing aRancor as a Nightsister Elder. I like my pets, not because the own in combat, but because they look cool and have amusing names. I don't feel the need to have to grind as you call it. I just play, and as I do the things my class was ment to do (tame pets and use them in combat) I get to learn and train cool abbilities. It's fun. If you feel like you have to have everything right away then I can see how it would be frustrating. Start with the abbilities you most want to learn and your favorite pets, then branch out. Give it time and have some fun.
I finaly have something worth doing in this game again, a cool goal to persue. I'm doing the FS grind, and I've been doing it for a year now. I take my time. Now I have something I can do while doing the FS experience instead of doing it just for its own sake. I never realy had a good reason to tame anything other than top line pets, now I do. I think its great.
