I really cant belive Im reading this. Vert, I love the effort your making, but excuse me as I go throw up. Let me get this straight, we are supposed to take our once feared combat hardend pets and turn them into circus animals? I know its not that extreme, but come on now! Isnt it bad enough as it is that we train a BE'd Bantha for BillyJoBobz-noobys' mount , just so he can run a lap around Mos Eisely before he gets bored with it and pulls out his swoop? This idea will have us chasing Gnorts, Durni, and Nunas so the guy playing Barbi Beanbags teh dancer can have a whole new way to "tumble" (if we used the Dance1/ Dance 2 idea) for aspiring FS grinders across the galaxies all the while completely AFK or even better, playing his Jedi main on his other computer. Tell me again where the CH benifits from this? Please, because I really dont see it.

"We've been looking for additional functionality and niches in which our pets can excel (perhaps even ways to expand them beyond combat)" Vert, what combat?!?! What do you think the last several months of kicking, screaming, whining, crying, cursing, suspending, banning, and cancellations have been all about!! Come on, you know as well as the rest of us that most CHs will agree that we are not a completely broken profession, we are at least handicapped, and Im sorry but no number of dancing Durni will fix that. At least the previious idea of another Trick command would have purpose and benifit to the CH in the field, as long as it did in fact heal for more then Trick 2. If we are going to continue to look for "functionality beyond combat" , lets make sure that it at least benifits the CH profession as a whole. Really, looking at the dancing concept, who benifits from that? The Dancer using the animal. Im pretty sure my Giant Veermok dancing in the streets ofTheed isnt going to do much for me as a non-entertainer. Instead of using our already scarce resources to impliment a command that will only benifit another profession all together, it should be put towards correcting some of the CHs more important and critical issues/fixes. We should be concentrating on fixing us as a profession before we go training monkeys to dance for people. This idea isnt completely without merit, but right now its sounds pretty one sided. Some may say this is no different then the Mount command, which I can understand that argument, except at once time we were able to actually make a business, as short lived as it was, in selling mounts and we can at least train a mount for ourselves as well. My Giant Veermok dancing on the corner isnt going to do anything form me, its just add to the lag. Love me, hate me, ban me, I can really care less, but look through the flame and try and see the point of what Im saying.

What do you sell right now from CH? Mounts, maybe (I give mine away)? Training? Maybe you trade in rare tames? But honestly, what kind of money does MCH bring in? Where's the CH market out there? We buy from BEs, Armorsmiths, Weaponsmiths, Doctors, Entertainers, Chefs, but what do they buy from us?

I would love to see a market for pets, and I would love to give amusician a little monkey that sings along with them in harmonyto boost their healing powers, or a dancer a snake that mimics their body moves tobeef uptheir buffs. It gives pets more visibility and increases our financial viability.

Maybe I'm wrong, but a market for pets that actually produces income seems like it "benefits the CHprofession as a whole".

So drop the negativity.

I never said there was a market. Looking at my batha example again, that doent look much like a market does it? And using your own example, how long do you think enertainers are really going to be willing to buy pets off us, why wouldnt they run to a BE so that can have Bio Bob the dancing Bantha as a none CH. The point I was stressing , which seemed to have been missed, was that there is no benifit to the CH profession. We cant use it in the field, we can make a living off of it, and unless you are part dancer, you couldnt even use it yourself. So why waste teh resources amd time to benifit One specific profession. Its not even like we can say, oh yea Mr Ranger have a dancing Gnort. This would only benifit one profession, Dancers. The idea the DEVs would actually allow an animal sidekick to increase there buffing power, at least in my opinion, is totally out of the question, otherwise entertainer driods would be filling that purpose already, right? I just think the resources can be put to better use.

There are other threads for other profession-specific pets, I've heard of tracking animals for rangers and bounty hunters, helper pets for healers, I've seen the idea of profession-specific pets being CH-only productions from a ranch or corral. The idea's been tossed around.

In a way, we agree.

Bottom line, we need someone to tell us whether we are a support or combat class, because I honestly don't know. I'll gladly give up any chance of making an income off of MCH, and I will even payalot ofmoney, and spend more SP,if I can get stronger, viablepets. But if the Devs don't turn us into a full combat class (and it might happen), I would like to see a market for CH pets in the game.

The Devs don't read anything that's negative, so keep it positive, they need to listen to the players more.

i've been holding off on this thread... it is a concept after all... but if you give healing bonuses for having a pet out, now in cnet cantina you'll find 30 AFK entertainers with 30 pets out... all they will have to do is modify their macros a little bit to add the pet tricks in...

i don't see much of a market for CH to be selling pet to entertainers... yes there might be an inital rush, but after that it'll be few sales... after all a non-ch can only have 2 pets in their data pad... if they have one mount and one pet to entertain...

i'd really hate to see and entertainer pet publish go through before some of the other ideas presented in the forums... i would take it as more of a slap in the face...

the entertainer professions have been destroyed by AFKers... heck this entire game has been ruined by AFKers... if they want to add more content to the game make it so if you are AFK you can't do anything, get rid of all macros/aliases within the game (or limit them to like 4 commands)... yes the make things easier, but thats part of the reason the game has become unbalanced... i can't rememebr the last time i got a full mind buff from a non buffbot... this would actully force players into interaction...

just my 2 cents

I beleive entertainers need a better variety of entertainment, and for the entertainment to be interactive. Watching another player dance can be down right boreing. Here are my ideas. Give each planet at an entertainer pet. Then have each planets pet do something else.

Yavin pigmy woolamanders. You tame three of these and give it to a entertainer. Have them play a game of three card monty. The player puts some credits in one of their hands, and tries to guess which one has it. If you guess right you get double the credits back. You guess wrong you lose out. Make it so that a player can never actually tell make them move real fast.

Talus sludgepanther kitten. The dancer can sick this on a patron, and when it starts rubbing on the patron. It will heal 20 points of bf instantly. Better yet let a master dancer musican use it to heal bf anywhere.

Tattoine a wort. Let this pet give the entertainers the song from rotj special addition. Since in my oppinion that is the coolest song in the movies. The jabba one with the furry thing.

Dathomir snake dance. Just like the dust from dawn thing, but make it so that the person watching can participate. The dancer and the customer both interact. Make it a game of simon says. When the dancer says kneel the player must kneel. When the dancer says clap the player claps. If the player dosent miss a cue bf gets healed twice as fast while doing this. If a customer misses a command. It goes back to normal heal.

Naboo a baby peko peko let it lay stinky eggs. That the dancer can have the bird toss on a player that left without tipping. It makes them stinky and when every they go near someone it says to them so and so smells real bad. Nice way for an entertainer to spot a non tipper. Make it last for like an hour.

Corellia butterfly. Can spray perfume on a player that the dancer orders it to, and the player can choose a song that the player wants to listen to. Make the effect last an hour. I would love this I could really use hearing a few more songs while I play.

Rori a midget pigmy torton. Lets a entertainer add like a few different drum beats to the song by tapping on its shell.

Endor make it something that looks alot like an ewok. Make it like the organ grinder moneky. When a dancer sets it on you. It starts gestureing for you to put something in its paw. The longer you do not tip the pet the more antagonized it gets untill it starts growling, and snapping. Okay doubt it will happen but its endor, and dang those ewoks are cute.

Dantooine. A fluffy graul mauler. Make this one actually mimic the entertainer.

One other thing make it only wild tames. This will give the dancers something to collect. Without haveing bes sell them on the street in bulk the next day. Plus what are the levels for non chs two pets. That sounds about right every dancer will have only two entertainer pets. They can then trade up between each other. Once you get bored with a wortt you trade another entertainer for a cute ewok thing. This should keep people entertained for a long time. Then like the rares make some easy to find and some hard to find. Make them creature level 3 just to keep with the baby tameing. Give them no resists so someone aint useing them to tank which would be a crime. Now here is the thing the only thing the ch will then have to do is tame the baby. The entertainer gets to train them to do the tricks.

Way cool idea if the devs do not just stick the creature next to a dancer and make it do one move over and over.

I'm all for enhancing CH but...dancing? There are so many things that could be done to improve CH and I don't think our time or energy is best served by getting our pets to dance with some entertainers. How about getting some of our functionality back? Or CH bonuses while on pets? There are a million ways we could be improved and I think this should be near the bottom of the list.

bottom of the list maybe but it would add some more content to the game.

Besides I get tons of compliments on my "dancing" pets. I cannot see this as a bad idea.

This sounds like an interesting idea at first, but I don't see a huge potential in it for revenue. However, if they were made rare wild tamables of certain specific species, they would be valuable. It's bad enought that non CH's get creatures, without having them dancing. I suppose you want the monkey collecting tips? This sounds like a step towards POKEMON and falling further from the "combat" aspect. However, if Creature Handlers were given the ability to get their pokemon to dance, and receive entertainment healing from it, that would give CHs the ability to heal, that would be something. Maybe next, we can set up farms for the Chefs, so that they can get quality eggs from their peko, andsteaks from their paralope.

Of course we need alot of work on our own pets too. However, this would bring in more income for all C/H and would provide a niche market for us. I think this can be worked up in anticipation of a C/R that is supposed to make us more inline with other profs making our pets more effect. It also works very well with our corral concept. That said I am all for giving my pets armor and giving us back real damage. But, lets keep our options open and broaden our proffesion at the same time.

I think we could tie this in with the corral very easily. It has been discussed there already.
