Thread: Idea for a CH revamp
Yea seems to be alot of forum spam lately lol.
6 threads about the same things, a couple of arguement threads and we have become a guide and expansion thread too.
happens occasionally whith the influx of new people, it should calm down soon, usually takes a few hints lol. to look around first before posting a thread thats also on page 1 and 2, 6 times lol.
Since the trick commands are now only for show
It would be nice to have some of whats in hereplacedin the skill trees.
Its actually not a rumor, I had to word things back then differently to keep the ban bat from swinging my way
Part of the documents we didn't see on the curb says ch will eventually be able to custom grow pets to help themfullfill the multi role, jack of all trades profession. No detailes were given other than them saying it would happen someday after the cu went live, Its just a bunch of hopes right now even to the devs, but being prepared for the day they ask for input on this issue should be a goal. hence this thread.
KISS = Keep it Simple Stupid
KISS was the motto of the U2 piolets if you are old enough to remember them. ![]()
So with that in mind personally I think as MCH what would really help us the most would be if CH pet got a bonus in Health an Damage.
I am not even going to go into how this can be done there are so many ways the devs can do this. Bottom line for a example is ch pets become elite mobs, or they get 20% - 40% increase in both damge output an health. This would turn our lvl 70 pets into something that can deal with lvl 80 mobs an would turn heads to some degree when a NON Ch professions thought about attacking one of our pets.
Had to add my 2 credits worth on this topic
Well health and damage bonuses would always be nice to have but I don't think they are so much of an issue post CU. I don't see why people keep saying their pets die faster post CU...I've found quite the opposite when I hunt now. I never used to bring out multiple pets pre CU because the mobs would agro on 1 and kill it right away every time. I would only bring out high level pets so they could take damage longer. Now post CU I call out a lvl 38 and lvl 32 Graul and they go head to head with a lvl 82 enraged rancor and easily live. Post CU the first one attacking would have been dead without my help. Also with the regen rates so much higher now I don't waste as much time and money healing my pets with pet stims.
I want the major bugs of the class fixed and more interaction with my pets...trick 1, trick 2, and /pet commands are getting boring.
Well I'm still rather frustrated with CH not getting the face lift it's always needed. Some things are better, others worse. In all it feels like they just added some babies, changed stats on the already there animals, and said they changed it.
I really think these suggestions in this thread need to be taken more seriously, or CH is still just as frustrating as it used to be. Mainly 'cuz it's lacking so much. So many things could be done, but many things need to be done to make it more enjoyable and worth while.
Is there anyway this can get a little more attention??? I mean why hasn't it? It's practically the same suggestion I gave earlier before I saw this post and said "yes!!". It's certainly a step in the right direction for once. but it would most likely require a lot of dev work. But ya know, just knowing they were going to do it, or do something like it would make me stay.
This is a step in the right direction but it lacks something important, and that is the meat sacks are still generic in one way. A level 50 rancor and a level 50 kaddu are still rougly the same in this. In other words the skins are still as worthless as they have always been. It denies a level to the entire episode.
The pet skins should in someway relate to what the pet does. Here are my ideas
1 Rancors grauls tortons kimos. Basically the big skins should be the real tank skins they would have high ham and high dps. Very weak specials limited to intimidation seeing as these beasts would never need a trick to win they just use size and power.
2. Cats bugs and flyers crowd control. These creatures get a bonus for fighting with their own kind of pet. A moderate boost to dps would be the gain. These pets sit in the middle of the road moderate health dps and specials. Seeing as these creatures use teamwork to win out.
3. Smaller creeatures boars mynocks cupas squills. High health low dps powerful specials. These creatures use alot of special attacks to get the job done on an enemy.
I think it would be a very good thing for CH. If the pets we were useing made a statement right infront of the crowd. Some players may not be impressed by the big cats, but if you pull out a mountain squill and a mynock they might get a little concerned. That alone is strategic. I remember when someone pulled out a makloc and another pulled out gsps, and the player had a general idea of strategy to handle the situation. I miss the days when CHs did make a point to use multiple designs of pets.
