Interesting ideas but, it seems you are robbing much of what BE does. If HAM, Armor, power, and specials are determined through growing...then what use is a BE that makes pets?

Maybe using wild/BE stats could work to min/max the final product but it would be a very delicate balancing act......and a constant war for control, me thinks.

I would prefer the ideas people have had with better CH commands. Real pet buff commands, pet berzerk, animal calm (from Jedi)....stuff like that.

Hmmmm, maybe have it grow to max wild/BE stats...then do a form of pet slicing. Train it over and over trying to adjust its stats.....but with a chance the pet goes crazy and needs to be released. That would fall more in line with the Weaponsmith/Smuggler model.

BE pets are better than wild ones. That part will not change. So it stands to reason if you take a wild pet and train it to be a nuke pet then a BE pet trained to be a nuke pet would be better than the wild one.

Some very interesting suggestion How about option to train combos of pets to emulate each others commands, or some sort of group mentality(devide and conquer).

Jopenack rote :

sit, beg, rollover = basic obedience commands taught over a period of time giving bonus to the pets ability to obey all commands. increasing action and mind bars (Ifpet specials will need those bars)allowing the pet to increase his state attacks hit chance and duration.

Also to add overall odedience so that pets do not attack on own whim. This may work my improving follow and/or guard commands so that more efficient.

I personally like the idea. I would like to see special attacks 1 and 2 staying along with ranged attack but give CHs the ability to train their pets extra, more powerful specials from a list with higher level pets being allowed to learn a higher number of specials. Each pet would have it's own set of extra specials to choose from and only non CH pets would be able to learn these extra specials. Sounds excelent to me.

I wish I had seen this thread as I would have supported it whole heartedly! These are some awesome suggestions. I have always been somewhat dissappointed at the interaction between myself and my pets. To me my pets are more then my tanks or minions...they are my friends. To limit the interaction between pet and master to just /pet and /pat commands when not in combat gets well, boring. Also people raise their pets differently...so how a CH raises a pet should help determine how effective of a pet it becomes when fully grown.

Here's an idea I'd like to add to that...have a different mode for us to take our pets out in that is not effected by CH level or by pet level. Lets call this a "Play Mode" for lack of a better term. The purpose of this mode would be so we could bring out multiple pets and not be hindered by the control level so they could all play and interact together. Rough housing with the master can teach a pet a lot in combat instict but rough housing with other pets can increase that even more. I'd love to be able to pull out my fully grown razor cat and gurrek to rough house around with a new budding young gurrcat.

Wow this thread got moved way back...anyway I hope Ko-aIri has had a chance to see this thread as there are some great ideas here. I noticed he hasn't responded in the thread but that doesn't necessarilly mean he hasn't kept up with it. Anyway it really would be nice for us to have more interaction with our pets and there are a lot of good ideas in that reguard in this thread.
