Guys, Vert's already stated that as soon as he can tell us what's occurring he will do (and to my knowledge Vert is true to his word).

I tend to veer towards the 'wait and see' camp and not read anything whatsoever into the slight delay.

Regardless of whether we are unchanged or majorly changed there are bound to be those that love/hate the new changes/non changes so a lot of flames are gonna be generated whatever.

Personally I will stick with stick with CH regardless because despite it's current weaknesses it is far and away the most enjoyable class to play.

Hopefully whatever does or does not happen will enhance our enjoyment further, but we shall find out in due course

Whoever said it was 'perfect' needs to be taken out back and beaten with a nerf bat. Nothing is 'perfect'. Flaws are found in everything and find we did. Questions were asked and answered. Tweaks were made even between the time we left the summit and the time they went up in the private forums for further commentary. Further tweaks are being made even now.

The reason they aren't out yet is because the vast majority of the public is going to be hanging on every word of these documents. They need to be as close to 'perfect' in their wording as possible, lest somebody hinge on one specific aspect and blow it all out of proportion. You won't have to wait that much longer to see them. And I know this is the wrong crowd to say it to, but Be Patient. It'll come.

The reaosn why P9M is the way he is towards devs in particular is because we have already been lied to since December by these jokers. Being told to wait is all we have been hearing...

Aak,

That is not quite accurate,

We were told to wait, have faith and be nice. We have been waiting, our faith has been sorely tried and being nice is what got us nerfed to hades in the first place. We keep trying to be nice, (the Truce) and so far it has garnered us...................................?

For me the truce accord is about to be withdrawn and I get to be my nasty, embittered old self again.

....and then no matter how hard we get nerfed, we still keep CH because we are still some of the coolest characters on the game.

Yeah, to be fair I guess that I'd be extremely bitter if I'd been a CH since the early days.....that nerf bat seemed to severely damage peoples' perception and trust of all things dev....

The nerf is not what made me lose faith in the devs.

Between the hidden files we all have already downloaded that the devs won't release, uncovered by Wolfmann31 in the GCW forum...some details can be found in this thread...

As Aakhperrkare points out, TH and the devs have a long history of poor communication with the player base.

What amazes me, is that it wasn't like this at all in beta. The devs were fully engaged, upfront with what was going on, attentive to constructive criticism, and made changes in the game based on casual comments by players, noting carefully what was said and how it was said.

Then release hit, and it's like the entire dev team changed overnight. Suddenly they became secretive, misleading, and TH was given a line to feed that overnight had to be totally changed. The PvP Insurance debacle was the best example of this.

Something happened at launch that changed the way the developers operated. I don't know if it was the massive failures of servers on launch day, or the mask scent instanerf, the total collapse of the corpse run system, or the infamous melon nerf that indicated that there were serious problems with the database that was supporting the game, but suddenly the attitude of the developers changed. Either that, or the developers most in the forefront of communication left the project or were shuttled off to the mount/vehicle/player city projects or JTL.

I do know that the best of the devs got moved away from day to day operations with the active game, and it's suffered as a result. But you have to expect this with corporate America products; the marketing twits (I hate marketing people with the intensity of a thosand burning suns; they're responsible for the shoddiness of nearly every product America churns out) wanted the next big sales event and forgot about the $15 a month playerbase and treated it as a given.

Liberation,

Let me point out yet again that I do not weigh my tiem as CH to count as more votes. That is a common misunderstanding or most people who read these forums.

As I write this I am aware that you understand that when we say long time CH we intend to show our patience rather than a high and mightier than noobs attitudes. If it does not come acrossed that way I am totally sorry and will endeavor that anytime I write I am a Veteran CH I will also qualify that it does not mean my perception is infallible but certainly jaded by this prolonged period (read as 8 months overdue) of waiting for the Combat Revamp.

You have to understand that if someone owed me 20 bucks for two weeks (which is the closest analogy for waiting from the summit until document release date), it is entirely different than someone who owed me 500 for 10 months (which is pretty dead on for waiting from December until now for the Combat Revamp).

And all I personally am asking is CH getting changed without community participation a la RuneSabres January statement that suggests that we would not have big changes without community discussions. I do not want every minute detail of this Combat Revamp. In fact, I do not care what this does to my secondary professions. As long as CH is left alone, creature strength is left alone and the broad changes affect everyone, I will be perfectly happy.

I just lost money on a horse called Liberation, so forgive me if I sound gruff.

As of late no one (including myself) has went after Vert. We have issues with SOE's track record. Now you can believe Vert's personal opinion of a skeleton of a plan or you can wait to see the whole thing implemented (as we all must). Again, no slight to Vert and if anyone must be slighted it is I for my own skepticism. Frankly, I do not care what anyone has to say about me. I choose to be a public figure and so must you with 100 posts and a month active time.

My perception is that I have never seen Vert give me "his word" on anything therefore I have no control by which to measure him. Mostly what he posts is after the fact or what he is told to post. Confucius once said something to the same effect, "the wise man does the action first, then speaks." Clearly I cannot fault Vert for nevre speaking until he has something.

Things in theory sound better than they do in function. We were all lead to believe by SOE that MCH would not change as a result of December. It did and we are weaker for it. We were promised a mythical combat rebalance at the same time. 10 months later we are getting the skeleton. By summer of 2005 we should be done. October will be a month of JTL hooplah and fixes for ships that won't fly. They will be a divine comedy a la Opus the Penguin in Bloom County. There is so much more to this game than the flight itself. I am so tired of dying from just one hit from everything. It is not as if I am some peasant looking over the edge of the Sarlacc Pit. I am a MCH trying to fight some Pikets while my two Graul have decided that running for the hills is better than defending me.

I know nothing about you either except you have made some nicely worded posts that show anything other than blind faith and no real knowledge of the path many of us you contend with have been forced to follow in the name of balance. When in fact, balance was jsut starting to be achieved as the game came into its own.

You are entitled to be wrong in your opinion but please do not talk to community regulars and be wrong in your facts.

We were nerfed.
We were forced to wait.
SOE even went so far as to call off the revamp.
There was outcry.
There was a summit.
There is no news until SOE posts it.
And we are still waiting.

Amid all that there are umpteen lies to CH specifically.

Vert is not anywhere near the majority of the problem. But many of us had hoped that if RuneSabre were true to his word Vert would have been able to come back and say that CH has no profession specific changes coming to it. But the broad sweeping changes that affect all combat profession will by default affect CH.

Since he cannot or will not (again not faulting him) many of us are lead to believe SOE is up to their standard let's change CH routine. It is that simple. And many who do not even believe this are still impatiently waiting. Look at respected people like Tivo who never gets mad or Tsiya. There is much undo tension about this revamp. If you tighten the strings of a guitar too much it will snap, and if it is too loose it will not play. (some sidhartha quote paraphrased). We have seen both ends of this spectrum. Many of us do not like our niche, role, or playability as it stands right now. CH worked before the nerf. The strings tightened and we snapped. Quite possibly it was too loose before the nerf. but the nerf went too far. Now many of us have nothing.

Sry, but we've already been 'there and back again' and been severely beaten to an inch of our SWG lives with this 'nerf bat'

By the way GarVa doesn't use nerf. I think it was standard Olympic softball issue. LOL

Pluto, I was not having a sly dig at you or anyone else in particular, I was just saying let's see what happens and stop worrying about it.

I can appreciate that you have been playing for quite a while longer than me (congratulations....) and may feel that your own opinion carries more weight, but that's not really a reason to trample on or discard other peoples opinions (even if my faith in Vert is misguided??..... nous verrons).

Congrats on the 1000 posts by the way.

Pluto,

Seldom do we disagree. But I do want to get changed.

I want my pets to stop autostoring,

I want me mount to follow me again rather than standing there observing the stones at his feet.

I want my pets to do the damage they are supposed to in PVP.

I want specials that work,

I want a larger datapad or a corral feature.

I don't want my pets running away from gnorts which is no biggy but it is when they are enraged rancors.

I want my pets to follow me when I am out in the world rather than to be examining flowers along the path.

I want medium armor on pets CL 40 and above.

I want to ride a kimogilia.

I don't want a flying pet, cause if that puppy autostores it's a rough landing. If they give me a flying pet I want it to be a dragon.

How's that Pluto can we agree to those changes.

....and then no matter how hard we get nerfed, we still keep CH because we are still some of the coolest characters on the game.
