Any profession that has not changed has been allowed to assure its community. Since one can honestly see we are changing because you cannot say anything, then it is reasonable to believe that SOE still wishes to lie to CH.

That is pure speculation, and I think you're reading way too much into the Ranger thing. I'm not saying anything for exactly the reasons I have stated. The very fact that people are leaping to conclusions based onthat little bit of info is exactly why the Devs want the main release to be in the form ofprepared documents.

To set the record straight, no one ever promised that we wouldn't change . Runesabre said he didn't anticipate any further sweeping changes on the scale we had experienced. And he said that any future changes would include valuable input from the CH community in advance. I'm not saying we will or won't change, but the idea that there is some sort of promise here that could be broken is false.

Vert, never implied he said "CH will never ever change again" (or if I did it is my lack of oratorical flair and bad composition). BUT I AM SAYING, he said we could put for input.

So now we have two things.

Change or no change.

If there is no change then there is little reason for silence. I mean the CH correspondent would know how volatile this forum can be, and wouldn't put off any news he could report. Now since we know you would tell us things if you could, "Guys this is about the revamp and nothing happens to CH" that leaves:

That leaves change, and the lie would be derived from we DID NOT participate. That is (to me at least) evident. Any changes that happened in Austin that are set in stone for CH but without the CH community approval are another broken promise.

Now one could argue (and I would too) that more storage is something the entire community decided long ago. But we all know this summit focused on combat, according to various posts throughout the forums and not wish lists for professions.

My disclainer is exactly as follows: This is no attack on Vert. My position simply is I believe Vert would report "no change" since he cannot there leaves one solution and that is "changes". I will have less hard feelings for change, but will once again understand that very few in SOE have the moral fiber it takes to be straight with CH. Guys like Holo and Q were removed for these great traits.

enigma,

I really do not want to be misunderstood here. I do not want ALL details. I do not wish to attack Vert. I got kicked pretty hard the last time. What I would have hoped is that we at least knew that we were not getting changed.

But since I have seen the FOTM flock coming from the people "in the know" the changes have to be so good we have tons of hate mail on the CH boards again or ex-pet lovers are just returning because they are equal now and that was the only reason they left to begin with. This profession is my one true love, I have never really abandoned it. The week I had no communication left with this board drove me nuts and I returned.

I am waiting. I will point fingers when things are released. And I will make apologies if I can find no flaws. We will get changed and the changes will be bugged. We will be hated again, possibly even more than Jedi because everyone will be Jedi/CH.

How about:

If you and your profession is in any way tied to combat, there's likely to be some changes in that regards. What they are is something that you will see once the documents are released.

Once again, Tray. We've seen documents and A LOT of meaningless talk from the devs. It means NOTHING until it's implimented. So I urge people to expect the worst, because that's been the norm...

LOL. Tray that would work. Now if it only stated "CH's will not be changed except in how combat is ran as it affects all professions." That would make me perfectly happy and shut me up until it is implemented. Seems like blues, reds and yellows would all be for shutting me up. /wink.

The proof is in the pudding as my grandma used to say. Well, actually she didn't say that, but I'm sure someone's grandma did. Let's wait for the pudding, ok? Virtually all the correspondents arecounseling us to wait and see. So, let's wait and see. How does it help to preach doom and gloom and believe the worst? It's just as easy to assume that Combat Balance will turn out to be a good thing as it is to assume that it won't be. And I don't care about what did or did not happen in the past or what was said or not said. Let's look forward. There will plenty of time for us all to cancel our accounts if it comes to that

Ya know what they say about forgetting the past...

I expect no good so I won't be as disappointed if the devs fail us once again. We may have no choice but to wait, but let's not be putting too much faith in the people that have misinformed and lied to us repeatedly...

Really wish this new guy Tyrant could make a post or two. He seems to be someone that has everyone's faith. I cannot blindly give him mine because I do not know where he stands.

I still fail to see why the so called documents arnt out yet. If in fact the "plan" was as perfect as all the corrs say when they were in austin they should have been able to take back profession related lists of changes with them when they came back. It should not take long to type out a page or so of proposed changes if they are in fact as perfect and ready as they were when the corrs were in austin. thats my opinion anyway.

Sorta open on this one. We were hit hard, CH simply was to unbalancing. players were using our profession to run over everything in the game so we were nerfed. Now what happened to stop the balance issue going forward from there is anyones guess. Now we are back to the balance issue hot and heavy again. I don't expect to see much luv for us in this. What I do expect, hope for, are other major issues to be taken care of. buffs, the armor factor, HAM, not being able to spam shots. These few things if balanced would go a long way in bring ch back to the usefulness of our former days. CH as it stands is a good profession, Try playing unbuffed with no armor, you'll see. Without the uber armor and buffs, players are not going to be able to stand and tank as well as out pets can. As far as major damage from our pets, not going to happen. Most if not all pet using professions in any mmorpg, donot have pets that are the major damage dealers, pets are to tank, players deal damage. any other way would be to unbalancing to the game.
... Now as far as non combat related perks, we as well as other professions are behind on this, why, no clue. But it is about time that soe did a bit of paying attention to feedback from the professions and after a year give us a few more things to do, ie, ranches, flying mounts, etc... This lack of adding worth while content to the game that would have no effect upon balance, but make our given professions more fun, along with the revamp hold up should have been addressed by the dev team some time ago.

sadnebula,

I cannot know for certain anymore, but Beastlord in EverQuest at the time I left would rank up there with the power of pre-nerf CH. I am also told the playability of the Final Fantasy style tamer is much better than ours. Still awaiting word from Tivo, et al on WOW tamers. But SOE is not taking WOW updates on these forums very lightly.

And I believe you may be partially mistaken that CH's ran over everything in the game. We tanked. It was still the commandos and bh's that took things down. Now I will give you an MCH/Mrifle was pretty good at killing solo. But to say we ran over everything is wrong. We ran over nothing. Even in PvP towards the time of the nerf TKM, BH and Commandos were coming into their own. A CM could poison a CH and it was over and then just a matter of griefing the pets.

I start to love this neverending story. At least it gives us the chance to discuss the same stuff over and over again. I'll try to run around the local lake on my home trainer. Wish me luck. If it could fly i may be able to do it.

Irony at its best:

SOE: We will not release information until XX YY, ZZZZ.

CH: Why not?

SOE: It must be perfectly worded so that no one goes crazy.

CH: Do you not realize that waiting to makes us more crazy?

SOE: You are just overly bitter CH's

CH: Overly bitter??? Maybe you should wait10 months for your paychecks or even longer until you get this right.
