If they can one-hit-kill, then why would anyone interested in PVP choose anything BUT rifle.

Make them a support profession. It won't kill them, and if they don't like it they can go carbine.

It might even add some tactics to this game. Much moreso than a 1-shot kill class would.

"because snipers suck against grps unless you get a grp of snipers..."

Let them get their own group... They're not supposed to beat a whole GROUP. Man, what more do they want?

"also there are ways to avoid getting sniper fire like using cover...believe it or not"

Terrain cover doesn't work right. And if you mean that me (and my whole group now) have to stay in cities just so we don't get smacked by snipers, well, I'll leave that little city-lag-fest to someone else.

"Cover" isn't any better of a devense against rifle's 64 meter range as it is against a pistol's 64 meter range. We all know we're getting hit by pistols, so how can cover magicaly protect me (and my group) from rifles?

Let the little sniper-kiddies cry all day about how real-life special-forces can snipe a dime out of my pocket from 12 hundred yards, and have one-shot-one-kill branded on their foreheads from birth...

This is a game with lightsabers and rancors. There is no need for a sniper-type profession. Especially one that targets an unhealable pool.

Now is the time to make a change like this, while we're all still in beta.

first of all cover does work...dont go out into the open..rifles require LOS...im not talking abotu the ingame concepts of cover... im talking real over like walls inside buildings etc...

2. if you get snipered running around the country lol uh thats ur bad...thats what snipers do best...

3. my only beef is that they one hit to a unhealable pool...the should 1 hit incap people to H and A...

is anyone else having problem tanking because of mind problem? i can buff my health and action way up there but it's the stupid mind damage that kills me. and since i am a wookie i can't wear helmets. i've been using muon gold to compensate but the down is just redicilious. does anyone have any other solution to our mind problem?

I play human with mind set as 800/500/500 (have all 3 hams set this way), when I use muon gold I do not have a problem with mind, unless I use way to many stimpacks. And I dont wear armour of helmets.

Most of the time I can manage without using muon gold as long as I dont do specials with VK's.

Apart from muon gold and chef buffs there are no other mind boosts I have found.

If you have problems with your mind pool running out maybe you need to increase the mind pool and mind secondary stats, by lowering your health and action.

You never mentioned what your hams are set up as so having to guess at what could be causing the problem.

I have the same problem. Basically, never special with VKs equipped. Make up a macro for your debuffs. Hit the debuff macro and after the specialsare thrown, equip your VKs. Keep your VKs in a hot key as well so you can click them on and off easily.

After that I usually equip VKs and berserk until dead. (me or the target) hehe. Although last night I tried keeping the VKs unequipped and spamming unarmedhit1 until dead. This works well as you can hit single debuffs easily as they wear off if needed. My mind lasted at least twice as long that way.

Do you wear any armor? If you do, you may want to take it off. =)

right now i have 1100 600 650 on mind i think in that order. using special isn't a problem since i have a mind reduction powerup. i fight find with muon gold. but it's the downer that sucks. nothing like coughing and gaging for about 10 minutes? hehe. i hope they give doctors some form of mind healing soon. maybe they can implement something sexually that one can do to themselves to recover mind? LOL just a thought.

Become a doctor or find one. Physical stats and HAM cost i will laugh at when my stats are all above 2k so now worries there...the gold spice is good for the duration...use it with a mind drink to increase mind pool and some food to give a short regen burst then fight hard core for the 10 minutes and then meditate until the effects subside. Then with meditate your stats will be back up..but I beleive that spice should be used only if you are really going to need it...otherwise you should be able to take on most things and not die...to often.

With the next patch, entertainers will be able to buff your mind. Dancers will be abel to double your primary mind pool, while musicians will be able to double both your secondary mind stats. This should really help tanking. You still won't be able to heal your mind damage, but you'll be better off than before.

My advice (I'm a Trando) is simple:

Migrate your Mind and Willpower to MAX and your Focus as high as you can.

The rest can be healed so don't worry about those.

Here's my Trando Stats:

Health: 800
Action: 800

Willpower: 600
Focus: 500
Mind: 950

Can't remember the rest...but they're not that important. Remember - H and A can be healed! H and A substats have an effect when trying to wear armor, so play around with migration and your preferred armor type to hit the right level and fits to your play-style. Its pretty personal

Use armor

Get hit in the head? Wear a helmet. Get hit on the body? Wear a chestplate..

I use a Ubese Helmet and Ubese Jacket with high kinetic resists, since I mostly go against mobs. Were I to go against NPC's I'd change the armor applicably. I never bothered with any other parts of armor, since I never needed it...They always aim for the head and body the bastards...

Experiment and see what you can wear before your substats are negated too much. I had problems with action substats - so armor-legs were a no no for me. Play around and get the armor pieces sliced (HAM).

Macro's are your friend

As Aija said, set up a macro for unequipping-equipping your VK's when using "de-buff" specials. Only use high-dam specials when finishing off a mob or if you're hard pressed.

Set up a /healself macro that unequips your helmet before and re-equips your helmet again after the stim has gone off.Unequip helmet - stim - equip helmet. Saved me 15 mind points a pop when I soloed.

Get a good VK!

Let me repeat whats been said: Get a good set of VK's.Slice should be damage at higher TKA levels, because you'll hit the speed cap even with a 2.1 set. Sogo damage.

It should be around60-170 or there abouts unsliced, using advanced coreand vibro motors off Nyms. Ask a Master WS, he knows this...

*snickers*

I just read the original poster was a wookie - so disregard all my eloquent babble about armor - sorry

The advice still goes for the mind migration bit, the macroing and the VK quality though!
