I remember it, but dont have the link....darn. I think we should be able to armor most if not all pets. Well maybe not nunas...lol. Instead of slowing them down, have incumbrance as player armor is now. Have diff types as well. Also, I love the Shield idea. Like the Gungans. We could mount them on tortons, fambaas, maluks....maybe grondas and thunes? They would protect an area adding a shield bonus to all in group that were in the protected area. Would be excellent ground support for a raid or a defending squad.

I'm going to keep in line with my previous ideas of a sadle and different sort of sadles. I would say that some more advanced sadles give you the option to use all specials from every profession. But the skills
that don't refer to weaponuse such as those a squad leader and the survey of artisans. Even the medicin use for medics, should always be allowed and not depending on a sadle.

Perhaps give every profession a specialized sadle that give bonuses to specific skills like the skill attachments. This way a tailor will be more asked for, and a BE can produce some things with what the tailor can enchance the sadles even more. This system is the same as BE cloths.

And still you need a creature handler for training your pet, so you can 'equip' the saddle. After this training the pet owner can equip and unequip the sadle to his wish.

I know that I somewhere has stated that the pet needs to be trained again after a period of time, but I think this doesn't need to be implemented. This can be changed that the pet need to be trained for a specific saddle. And as every item sadles have decay and take decay from use like the vehicles. Those can also be repaired like cloths. And once you want to use a new sadle for that mount it need to be trained again by a creature handler. Only one sadle can be trained to a pet at a given time. If you want to equip a new sadle look for a creature hander near you that can train your pet for it.

To make this more practice the mountingshould even show up on a pet that isn't owned by you. This takes out the trading when you want to teach a pet mount. Also if you train a pet mount it should just reset the serial of a sadle. And put in the serial for the first sadle used after the training of it. This makes it that sadles can't be crafted in crates, because as far as I know the serial number on each item called out of the same crate has the same serial number.

People involved in the sadles are: a tailor to put all components together and make the framework. A BE if you want to enchance some abilitys for the pet like stability, terrain negotation and so on. Armoursmiths if you want a sadle with armour protection and resist. Weaponsmith if you want to mount a weapon on a sadle, when a weapon is mounted you can't equip a weapon yourself is you want to mount it.

Errrr, why is "c-h-a-n-c-e" replaced with a squiggly line?

Idea Name: Not really a thing to craft but a CH Bonus called "Pack Mentality"
Brief overview of how you see it working. Basically when pets are grouped together and are attack the same creature they get a bons lets say increased dmg and increased defenses.
Why it is needed. It is need because MCH is beccoming more usuless, I believe every animals does Kenetic dmg and none-have AP capability. SO what do they do when the Create this new thempark Medium armor and supper high Kenetic resists.
Who makes it/interdependencies (if needed).Nothing needs to be made.

Robo I think this is a great idea. For us to have 3 pets out they are only CL25 ... Which make them very weak... It would be sweet to give a bonus if you had 3 of the same type of animal. Possibly only certian kinds. That way they run as a pack.

id like to expand on rynaurrs thingy yea those large creatures should not be able to be knocked down, but just look at their size if they weret o get punched do you know what would happen? ok, theres a torton and a rancor haning out in bestine and a TKA comes up and starts to punch the torton in his legs the tortons gonna be like "hey, rannie, did you feel that?" and the rancor says "oh torty, you got somthing on your leg, lemmy get that for you" then the rancor flicks the tka with his finger and sends him flying off the moral of the story? tka's should not be able to punch large creatures effectivly ... or somthing

You hear the most say to you size don't matter, but mostly it does. Think that someone has to explain that to the devs. Little pets nice housepets, large pets watch it you are flat before they know it.

I dont know if this is "unstarwarsy" but you always see these massive humanoid bipedal creatures that attack with claws?! You would think that a Rancor would have a strong desire to chuck massive boulders! Or a large area blast device that is made by a weaponsmith. You get them in a disposable pack of 100. There will be an option to the radial menu just like feeding your pet, that says "Fit explosives pack". You could choose between your damage type electricity/stun/energy/poison/blast/acid. Kinetic would just be a pack of boulders. Mabee give the Harvest boulder skill to a Ranger or something.

The purpose of this would be cause it's friggen cool!

I like the idea of maybe portable PSGs for large-type mounts. Maybe restrict it to certain types (which makes art assets and testing a little easier). But instead of storing it on the pet, have it be an attachment that you add to a pet you have out and is removed when you store the pet. This would be a way to duplicate the time it takes getting your pet "equipped" and forestall some complaints that would arise if we could just whip out a group shield generator on a whim. The delay wouldn't have to be anything exceptionally drastic, but I think it should be subtantial enough that using one required a little bit of planning on our part.

I think I may have the pics of the armor somewhere. I recall the chitin was on a gualama-type critter. Wish I could remember which interview site had them. But I still like the idea of allowing Armorsmiths to create barding for pets. It would definately improve the fact that very few pets have armor now and make up a bit for it. Medium armor would be nice, but it'd probably be going too far. Still, I think it would be restricted to certain types of pets. Mounts are already a subset of pets so I would say it'd be natural for them. Since they've already been trained to carry a humanoid around, getting them to accept armorment would fit. Though I would miss not being able to have hoardes of composite-clad durni invade Coronet.

I really love these ideas they are great.

I do have one idea myself.
Idea Name: Mounted Combat (really it's a qualification)

Overview: It would be good to have qualification, maybe empathy
or at master to allow you to use your combat specials whilst mounted.
This could also be used in conjunction with charge idea previously
mentioned to get melee characters into range. I feel that the mount
should also be allowed it's attack (if in range obviously or by using
it's ranged attack if any). There would be an accuracy penalty
associated with this that would decrease as the CH advanced or be
a constant if the qualification is at master CH.

Why is it needed: This would make CH a better option to combine with
another combat profesion. Currently there is no reason to combine
CH with another combat class (or any other class for that matter)
because there are better options that cost less skill points.

Who makes it/interdependencies (if needed):There is no real need for
anything to be made but there could be a gun mount to increase your
accuracy. Probably made by an armour smith, your guns would then need
to be modified to fit the mount, job for a smuggler maybe or weaponsmith.
Although this would be hard to conceptualise for a melee character except
maybe the pikeman.

The way I think of it could be compared to knights or mounted cavalry,
sure any one can ride a horse but it takes training and skill to be
an effective combatant whilst mounted. A certain degree of training
and communication is needed between the rider and mount.

Just one more thought you could probably give doctors and medics the
ability to use stims and the like from the back of their mounts as well.

u guys have been talking about givin pikeman mounted combat abilities but what about swordsman, samuri's and knights have fought on horse back with swords, plus barbarians used axes n stuff from horse back too didnt they?, i jus think it makes sense for pikeman n swordsman to both have mounted combat abilities , but theyd also have to have some ch to be able to use the abilities, maybe make another prfessiosn thats a hybrid of the 3, that specializes in mounted combat.

FYI: I HAVE SOO MANY IDEAS I AM SPACCING THEM OUT SO TO ALLOW EACH ONE TO GET AN OVERVIEW

Idea Name: Trample Damage!(AOE)

Brief overview of how you see it working. Bascially I was and still am a huge RTS fan, though now I have moved for to FPS an SWG. But one thingle I always liked when usuing War elephants in various games is that they did and tramble dmg. Basically this will be and AOE attack that will say have a range of 5m. It should give some of those Mele classes a reun for there money. I suggest this attack do stun dmg, and be very powerfully, say dmg around 700. This dmg would only be able to be done by large quarapeds (eg. Torton, Malkoc) maybe it can have a knock down quality or the special attack can be given its own name such as Crush.

Why it is needed. Mele players are supper uber this should even the odds a bit.

Who makes it/interdependencies (if needed).Nothing needs to be made.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of UO-style "pack mentality," too. It might be interesting to get a discussion going on that sometime.

Found one of those mount armor concept arts. This bol bone armor. No idea if this was scrapped due to design decisions or time constraints. Since there seems to be interest, I could ask about it.
