Non-CHs can't 'grow' pets.
Pets can only gain Training XP from CHs.

Is a BE CL 10 Bantha something that can be "mounted" right away? I have a guild mate that asked me to train her bantha she just bought as a mount and it worked right away. She had been hunting with it so I assumed it had grown already...
i had this and it was driving me crazy. but then i realized that the radial in the datapad has store as #1, but call as #4. check yours, calling it off the unusual call spot fixed it for me. good luck!

Of course one of the replacement three I got later got bugged ... I could only select "store" in the datapad ... even after logging out several times and quite a few server reboots ... serves me right I guess.
Which reminds me, now I got that bug again on a bagaraset ... anyone know how to call this pet again? I wrote a ticket, useless as usual

I'd suspect that this was quite an old BE'd bantha that had been sitting on someone's datapad for a while. Certainly it wasn't a post pub 21 creature.
You just are on the wrong server buddy. I would put some orders in for you, and you know I would be the last person in the galaxy to not pay you properly.
(For those who wish to possibly start a market for pets)
Here are my pricing/selling suggestions:
1.) do not try to show off your ubersize pets. the massive size pets while cool are not what you are going to be selling. If you wish to use your pets to advertise then do it with 3 CL10 pets. You could perhaps get a friend to duel you and let you apply states to them with the pets while using your bark to let people know your pets are doing it.
2.) Prices are determined always by3 things more than any other...Cost of materials/overhead (whatever it costs you to make it), Service charge (for your time and skills), and most importantly by what the market will bear. (the market right now is young so you will at first need to wet the appetites with samples at prices that can move your product.)
3.) In the end the prices should reflect the market you are in and the largest factor in pet creation now: time. A pet now takes an amount of time to create that is like a WS spending 3 weeks tuning a Scatter Pistol. SO let's do some simple guess math for Bria server(the greediest most money polluted server around)
The cost of materials is technically nothing if it is wild, but the actual tangible creature should hold some value so let us say 10-50k depending on the creature used.
The overhead is hard to factor as it is basically just what it costs you to live and breath while training. Let's set this at 20-40k per week to be nice.
Service charge- first let's point out that this is where the cost of the CL10 is most determined, you will not be selling a pet, you will be selling the training you have done for the pet. Due to the ridiculous amounts of training required this should be set at around 80k-250k depending on the complexity of the training and the time needed to do it.
Now all that is left is to factor the markets ability to support the pets sale into the cost. Most sales(in fact, probably ALL) are going to be impulse buys so you may have to accept cutting the cost in half. Once the demand becomes greater you will then be able to increase this greatly. If a usefulness(or exploit, sad as it sounds) is found then you can see yourself as much as doubling or tripling your price.
So now in the end, for starters try to sell a well trained pet for 50-80k to someone who is truly interested in using a CL10 pet. Then allow those sales to do the work of advertising your product simply by using it. Sooner or later a new set of potential buyers will seek you out. These buyers will then no longer be impulse buyers. That alone will allow you to go at least 80-120k for a pet. Then the next batch of customers will be working off of the "myth" and legend of the pets they saw someone using and will be anxious enough to buy them for much more and you can try selling them for upwards of 250k or maybe even alot more.
In the end it is going to require either a monumetal effort by one person or the combined actions of amny to change the way CL10's are now looked at. before they were used as exploits, so the days of 10 million dollar Gurrecks is over. But it is not at all impossible to do this. People told me all the time there would be no way I could sell pre-cu mounts for 100k+ but I did. I made millions doing it. SO be brave and forge the path friends. I wish I still had it in me to do it for you again, but alas I am content where I am now. Someday I might use those maxed out CH XP points I refused to turn in at the village.
After some conversation on a RPish mount fora CL74I met on Kashykk... Previously offered a pathetic 1 mill for my varactyl (pathetic being that varactyl are worth far more).
Me: I can get you a Cu Pa. Their fast, easy to find, have ranged attack, do not obstruct view, and do not bounce about as you ride them.
CL74: That would be great!
Me: I charged 10K for Non-CH pets before Publish 21, and it still stands. The Cu Pa will be fully grown with a few upgrades to it's normal health.
CL74: 10K! How much for an untrained one?

hehe i'm killing way too many hidden daggers myself. i got 5 spinner blades in the last 2 days, which is good, but i need a total of 12, and there are none for sale on my server. so, back i go!

I have held auctions to try and figure out the pricing and what I cam up with is that CL 10 mounts will basically go for 80k on shadowfire. I only keep them if they have abilities, and specials I can learn. What do I do to level them, well I go to dant (of course), get in a group of 8, leave to corellia and take two hidden daggers mission (CL15), and then I disband from the group. Why hidden daggers well for this exact reason. They drop spinner blades for recyclers (recyclers are used to smelt your stacks of scrap resources into one generic type of the same resource). Anyway, I don't destroy the base but leave the area far enough or just go to the second mission (not destroying the base there) and ping pong back and forth using the CL10 to kill the daggers and I loot. This may not be as fast as grinding it out on dant but surprisingly enough it goes quick and spinner blades are worth a bit too.
For a BE dewback to be mountable it MUST be CL10, anything less and it will not grow big enough to take a saddle. Falumps have been mounted CL7-10 and hopefully this will not change but as we recently lost the brackaset who knows.

Currently, the only BE made creature that are mountable are the dewback and the falumpaset. The others never grow big enough for a saddle.
FYI.
I am getting so many requests for training pets that I am charging increasing amounts for unsolicited requests. I will train BE Cu Pas to be mounts, fully grown and command trained with Level 2 Knockdown and Level 1 Eye Gouge for 50k at the moment, or free to ma frens. Most of these requests come from people who have just bought a BE pet and are disappointed that the pet is a tichy little thing that they can't mount.
Don't forget that once trained, the pet is invincible and doesn't decay like other weapons, so people will be able to sell them on if they get bored of them. Any money they spend is and investment, not money down the drain so you dno't have to feel bad about setting high prices for training. Lets face it its the only way we can make money, and we set the prices of the market while pets are in demand. The new rules have created a new niche for Handlers which is the Professional Trainer - as mentioned above if you don't want the role don't advertise.
