Thread: Do not Grind
The majority of people in this world are an impatient lot. They want things done and they want them done yesterday.
Telling them to slow down and enjoy the time it takes to master will do nothing but put the title of Master as an end game item.
You see people say that the GCW is the end game or that master Jedi is the end game. They are not. There is NO end game.
The time it takes to master any profession should not be a chore. For the majority of players out there CH has become one.
CH has one of the longest treadmills to master than any other profession.
To get your mind off the time it takes to master any profession you need to get involved with other players.
But do not tell them not to grind.
Not sure why you have such a problem with this advice. Yes I did make master before the nerfs and it took time then too. I have also mastered other professions without the typical grind. All I am saying is to avoid burnout avoid grinding when you can. I offer this opinion to try to help keep players in the game. That is all.

I find it a bit odd that a person who made MCH back before all the nerfs and major overhaul says not to grind.
Easy words to say considering you had it easy.
Back before all those nerfs you didnt have to grind, it was fun fast and easy. You could take your time to level and enjoy the sights at the same time. You leveled up at a fairly fast pace and there WAS no need to grind.
Everyone puts too much emphasis these days on having fun while leveling, what about having fun as a master.
I made master CH before the nerfs and overhaul turned it into a grind.
I have fun AS a master CH and with the leveling behind me I can concentrate on the finer aspects of the game.
Such as GCW,quests, roleplaying, finding rare pets to tame, exploring without fear, meeting new friends and many more.Yes you can experience these while leveling but it so much more fun as a master.
The end game is not MASTER, thats only the begining. There are a lot of things to do AS a master.
IMHO there is no end game,it is an ever evolving MMORPG.
As master CH,guild leader, mayor and a rich player you are still enjoying the game with the leveling behind you.
Nothing stops the grinders from achieving the same results.Grinding is boring and burns people out fast that is true BUT they wouldnt have had to grind if the Devs had not changed the system. You grew up in a system where there was no need to grind to get master CH,that system has changed.
This game was praised way back then for its ease of leveling,It was fun to level. Now its a chore to level.
Leveling should not be dragged out to keep players paying.
New things to do such as quests, new planets etc etc should help keep the players occupied but shouldnt be a players main focus.
Having fun with other players and creating your own story in a story will keep more players in this game than anything the devs could ever devise.

I see more and more posts about people who leave the game. I have a little advice to you newer players. "Do not grind" I have played this game for over a year as a MCH and still enjoy it. I do not grind! You do not need to grind to be successful.
I am a leader of a great guild, Mayor of a fun town, one of the richest players in my town, own most every rare item in game, have an amazing collection of rare and extinct pets, have a ton of badges, and still look forward to my game time. The point I am making is have fun slow down play other games too. The fastest way to get burned out with SWG is to grind day after day.
The game offers a lot of fun things to do. Go out and explore the galaxy and keep the grinding to a minimum. Power gamers do not seem to last. This is a fun game dispite it's flaws so have fun.

I recently came back to the game after a four month absence which began shortly after I decided to take up hologrinding. When I was grinding I was bored so I just didn't want to log in. I'm now going back up CH with rifleman (first two professions I ever mastered), I'm leveling fairly slowly on various planets, usually not bothering with buffs or armor. Much more fun than getting buffs and 80% comp and spending hours at a time on Dant.

Maybe my post went over some heads, Ill try to rephrase it.

I will agree with this in some parts, yes, CH is ONE of the lognest treadmiss. yes, The tiem it takes to master any profession should not be a chore. And yes, CH has become a chore.
But, it depends on how you think of chore. Me personally, a chore is coming in and feeling you HAVE to do something as quick as you can, day in and day out so you can get the end of this particular goal. Now, this might be good for some, cause honestly, with CH having the "treadmill" that it has, most people get frustrated with it half way through and want to quit. For me, I knew I was going to stick with it, so it didn't matter how fast I got there, I enjoyed the travel getting there.
Honestly, it's up to the person, how they want to play, if they want to grind, let them, by all means, grind your heart out. If you want to just take your time and enjoy it, then do that. It's all up to the individual, none of us can tell others how to play, just give our opinion.
